Getting the message "The time stamp of the transaction is too far in the future." When trying to send transaction. my system time is correct and I have tried changing the due time to 1 hour. Anyone else get this?

I will look into this issue. How much did your system time differ from real time? more than 20 seconds?

Browsing the logs I see the following nodes being misconfigured:

Node [mak ]
Node [kullikalli ]
Node [nemz ]
Node [jk ]
Node [Kuching ]
Node [mainroot ]
Node [nemx ]
Node [PCPLACE ]
Node [Is Ours ]
Node [bluedude ]
Node [ZORGnode ]
Node [cocks ]
Node [XeqtorNode ]
Node [fRames6 ]
Node [xtester ]
Node [jorma ]

You can check if your node is correctly configured (i.e. port 7890 gets forwarded to your computer) by using patmast3r's "check nis tool":

http://chain.nem.ninja/checknis

or if you want to check a specific ip address

http://chain.nem.ninja/checknis/?ip=123.456.789.012

Only nodes that are correctly configured are real supporters of the network.
Also, correctly configured nodes can receive a private key for a 50M NEM beta nemesis account.

do i allow "port forwarding" and then enter the port number and an ip? address or do i "white list" the port number in "port filtering" or is it something else? cant find what to do with the port number after im told my node isnt set up

What you'll want to do is first set the 24/7 box on your network to a static IP by either hard keying it on the box, or telling the router to reserve a static for that computer and let the computer use dhcp. Then you'll want to use "port forwarding", and tell 7890 to go to the IP you reserved, say 192.168.1.100. LAstly, you'll want to make sure the firewall on your box has 7890 open. If you don't force a static reserved for the 24/7 box it might move around inside your network and the port foward will hit the wrong box, or no box.

what does it mean :NIS requires to be booted. Please open your wallet and boot a local node via the popup dialog or configure the auto-boot setting.??

It means that each (NIS)node is tied to an account when entering the network. You need to supply the data. You do that by clicking on the menu item "Boot local node".

That is only possible if you run the standalone version.

ok no luck.. i dont know what the hell is wrong that it wont work.. :/ allowed the port in the firewall settings, didnt work, turned off the firewall - didnt work, router settings didnt work.. :/

edit:

martismartis, netgear (ssid)AirCard-4210

just had a look online and one site, in relation to white listing, is showing ports like "http=port80". is that the way it is supposed to be entered or just as "7890" with out the http=?

no worries if i cant get it working, il just bring it into college and someone will know how to fix it..

Can you point me to that manual? I cannot find it. Different countries have different number.

Kodtycoon i can't find that model. Is your menu greyish with violet / green buttons ?

You should find it under NAT setting if your router has NAT setting.
Ok try netgear aircard 762s

That's more like it.

Goto:

Router -> Port Forward
Name: NEM
IP: your local ip that 192.... thing
PORT: 7890
If possible choose TCP/UDP as protocol.
klick Add

I assume that's what you did anyway ?
Port Range Triggering is safer, it only open's if a computer from inside your network uses the port first. Port forwarding always opens the specified ports and always forwards the open ports to the specific internal IP address they are assigned to go to.

Well it's been a long time since I last posted here. I missed all this! The beta is looking really amazing!

Still think a chat box in the NCC would be a laugh. Wink

actually a chat box would be cool but i dont think it would bring much benefit.. then again it would be a fantastic place for noobs to ask for help. i know many noobs are afraid to post on btt.

Sent some BetaNEM

I don´t think ChatBox was a good Idea. If Newbies are looking for Help they could easily be scammed.

true dat.

dya no what would be handy.. you know in your transactions a pop up thing shows the full address when you hover over a partial address, if you could click the partial address to copy it to clip board. or right click to open a little menu with options to copy to clip board or add as a contact.

edit:

trying to do the remote harvesting.. its seriously confusing.. i activated remote harvesting, wouldnt let me change the address or anything to just entered password and activated and now it says "activating remote harvesting". do i wait until it says activated and then enter the address that i want to harvest for me? or how does it work? if i try anything else to do with harvesting, it throws an error since i did that.

woop woop

got it working...

just had to open ports to all computers. "home or shared networks" was selected.. little setting hidden away.. grr.. but anyway.. YAY lol

@pat ya thats what i did.. solved anyway..

thanks for all the help guys! Smiley

Be careful. You are naked now if you open all ports. I suggest once you are happy with it, it is better you close everything and don't muck around with it until you are damn sure what you are doing! A lot of Internet robbers out there.

no its only a setting for that one single port. i didnt make all ports open to all pc's. i know that would be madness lol. its a setting in the firewall for that particular entry. all the other ports are still closed to home/shared network. it is safe to open port 7890 to other computers right? if not how do i get around having to open it?

ps. there is nothing valuable on the laptop im using to test this out.. so hackers can hack away and they wont get jack from me Wink

could someone send me test nem please? Smiley address in sig  thanks
