I recently bought 0.1 NEMstake using the NXT asset exchange.

Is this all I need to do for now? Am I all set or do I need to do anything else in order to claim ownership of my coins? And what will I need to do once the NEM blockchain is launched? How will I turn my NEMstake asset on the NXT AE into actual NEM coins?

anyone who holds nem on the AE does not need to do anything yet. when you do it should be as simple as sending you nemstake to a nxt address along with a nem address. that phase of the process hasnt been released yet so you dont need to do anything yet. but its advisable to check back atleast once a week. you should have plenty of time to proceed once the time comes.. atleast a couple weeks anyway so checking once a week should suffice.

Ah, good. Thanks. That was what I thought. Looking forward to seeing my 100,000 NEM soon. Smiley

How did you buy 0.1 NEM. I would like to buy some too. how can I do it step by step. NOOB here Smiley
and who's account is the most trusted on NXT-AE. Thank you

Via NXT AE, just bought some NXT from some Exchange and transfer it to client. Then go to the AE and choose nemstake and add your bids.

why not to buy nem gold and silver coins and send them to deserving stake holders as a gift

this is the best idea i think: https://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2501.msg6274#msg6274

Absolutely agreed. This idea reminds me a bit of Protoshares PTS which has proven quite popular and valuable.

Two large things that drive value are utility and exposure, so anything to that end is also useful (within reasonable bounds). I just don't think air dropping it is a good idea at all. Once the coin has utility through the eco system and is used as an underlying currency for mobile apps, farmvilles, whatevers, then other people will want it outside of money/platform savvy folks. It has been proven countless times that money earned (I don't necessarily mean purchased with fiat, maybe via labor in community programs) is more precious to someone than money given. Hold it in reserve to fuel spin-offs, fund development, or reasonable and small chunks for grass roots PR stuff (associate modest amounts to tangible assets / give aways once a mobile app exists and there are at least a few apps of utility).  Dumping it on people that don't understand what it is for or don't care will just hurt it as others point out.

On 09.09.2014 my grandchild twins Bennet and Jonathan were born.
Suggest to send them a Nemstake each as a gift. Be sure, they will not dump or sell in the longer term.

I would have thought their names would be BenNEM and JoNEMthan. ;-)

Congrats. I will vote you the President of the Old Grumps Club of NEM without a doubt. Our grand old Champ in NEM!!

Too bad it is not my decision to give them two NS. If NEM was launched, i am sure to have flicked a few of my Nem Coins over. By the time they are twenty and ready to rule the world, those NEM coins may be worth 10K each. Wink

10 Billion for a stake. Lol.

At the rate the world is going with money printing, total world money circulation in 21 years time may be a couple of Quadrillion. With a market cap of 40 Trillion out of say, 2 Quarillion, this is 2%.

It then begets the question of "is it possible"?. Answer, why not? ;-)

Proof-of-Stake Blockchain Network
neither give nor burn is not advisable
in my opinion ...
needed within the NEM project, which will use these features ...
coins need to book, to define the conditions and goals, and announce the competition
have a general idea of me, but I find it hard to express it...

Another Idea could be, that we generate a second Nemesis account with all the unspend stakes in and double or trible all fees, till the account is empty. So we can support the network for a long time.

every nemster could get "nem investment fund" asset and then everyone could decide what they want to do (keep it or sell)

well there would be a market for the shares the second they are distributed. i guess people could opt out if they wish to not use the nxt AE and wait until the nem AE is ready at which point they could be sent the shares they are owed. we could keep track of dividends that users not on the AE have earned in time between distribution of asset and launch of AE and send the users shares along with the dividends they are owed.

the assets value would be backed by the value of the capital the fund holds(the nem) + any assets it has acquired through investing. so i would assume these assets would have a very high value straight off the mark.

damn... this could be amasing! Grin

Sounds good, too!

Maybe this could be expanded on, sending birthday cards to children with Nem attached. If we had a shop with online games for children then they could use their Nem to play.

Just trying to think of something here!!!!!

I bought some NemSilver-coins for the twins. Increase of the added Nem-amount would be nice.

I have no clear idea yet on what todo with the unclaimed stake but here are the things I'm utterly against doing.

Charity
If we're gonna do that everyone can donate form their own stake. It makes no sense what so ever to use unclaimed stakes to donate to charity. It wouldn't be very charitable actually since those stakes don't actually belong to us.

More for stakeholders
We want to spread NEM wide and far and not give more to the people that already have NEM.

PoW Giveaway
I didn't even no about this idea prior to reading TaunSews post but yeah...totally fucked up imho. Here we are saying how much greener we are and how were not wasting energery and then we go ahead and do this ?

Giving it to celebs
Srsly ?

Destroying them
Basically same deal as with "more for stakeholders".

Using most of it for development
Are we underfunded ? Hell yes ! I still think this would be a bad idea as it would also not spread NEM further unless we figure out a guaranteed way to sell them to many people.

The goal imho has to be to get more people into NEM not get more NEM to the people that are already here many of whom are only in it for the profit anyway.

I think we all know the goal is to get more people, but how?

I wouldn't just write off some of the things that you are "utterly against doing" without dwelling deeper into it.

Don't miss the forest for the trees. Wink

First of all I don't like the idea to enrich the stakeholders by burning NEM or by spending more NEM.

This was not the intention of UP. His intention was spreading NEM all over the world!

In my opinion we should offer POW and faucets to spread NEM.
Almost the half of all altcoin supporters like mining. Therefore we should offer them such a possibility.

More Nemsters = more popularity + less FUD about possible disadvantages of POS/POI by mining people Wink

The settlement of faucets is another possibility to attract more people.

My suggestion:

70 % of all unclaimed stakes for "mining"

10 % for faucets

20 % for further promotion or App- development.

Just to make it clear: I hate mining but the mining-community is as big as ours believing in POS and POI. Therefore we should keep this in mind when we decide what to do with unclaimed stakes.

or increase nem amount in gold and silver coins ,it will help to sell it faster

I agree, it feels a bit too expensive at the moment.
