Guys, I'm about to start the Whitepaper translation to Brazilian Portuguese...

If you speak Portuguese and want to help, please, send me a message...

I want to get it done by July 28th and, if anyone could review it for me would be awesome!

I've talked with one member and we might get our job on Nem.io =)

ps: there is no bounties, but maybe I'll put the NEM address at the end of the paper to encourage people to tip, lol...

Yes, Yes and Yes for NEM marketing spendings.

We should also consider focussing on ease of use. NEM docs and GUI should be more informative to new users. I would suggest to focus on ease-of-use first before marketing. Marketing will attract a lot of new users. I expect the majority of which will be non-crypto users. They might be introduced to NEM as their first crypto. For that it is critical to pay attention to ease-of-use, docs, easy-GUI, very informative interface/client. This is an easy task and should be resolved in a very short time. The more time and effort will be invested in making NEM clients easier and more informative to new users the better result NEM will achieve in Marketing.

NEM clients, docs, GUI, website, ... should be reevaluated from a perspective of serving non-crypto users introduced to NEM as their first crypto.

NEM is already in top 10. All current crypto users already know about NEM. The marketing efforts will succeed only in case of attracting new non-crypto users. For that it is critical to make things ready for these kind of users with zero crypto knowledge and background.

agree : ease of use   (you just wrote it more politely than what we discussed on the previous page;) )

"focus on ease-of-use first before marketing" - yes, or at least there should be a quick way to notify the author and he/she should be able to update the app/doc quite soon.

The dev team may already have some method / communication tube
... at least they will say that this (BTT) is the wrong place to write about it and wait for corrections Smiley

no offence but I should fully contradict you on that one ;-)

I will probably not be able to put some pictures here (I never understood the trick in Bitcoin talk to do it).

- I downloaded and unzipped the "NanoWallet-1.4.0-win64" zip file.

- I got a batch with 2 folders and a bunch of files:

ONE of those files is called nanowallet.exe, it is an executable file and has the beautiful
logo of NEM coin visible.

When I click on this .exe file, it sends me right away on a new windows (HOME - nanowallet),
on which we are able to sign up or login to our wallet....

So, YES there is an .exe file, and YES, this brings us to the accurate windows to create our nano wallet.

[If you have another way of communication, as skype, I could share with you the print screens of everything
for you to see what it is currently that we are downloading from the site to get the nano wallet.

BTW, did not get any comment on the network fees are outrageously high and why this is so ;-)

You probably are not running a 64 bit system, the wallet you downloaded is for a 64-bit system.

Instead go back to https://www.nem.io/install.html and download the "Universal Wallet" instead. That's the wallet you want, then just follow the instructions and open up start.html

Here's the direct link: https://github.com/NemProject/NanoWallet/releases/download/1.4.0/NanoWallet-1.4.0.zip

I just imagine average people wiht less experience and less resilience in the crypto world...
no good at all for them as an experience with a coin... enough to move to other coins

You have complicated everything yourself. Any newcomer can easily open an account in Nem, buy XEM on stock exchanges and withdraw their money in NanoWallet.

I bought without problems for 20 minutes on bittrex more than 80 000 xem and sent it to my NanoWallet. The security level of NanoWallet satisfies me.

I would not say so Smiley
After years of UI design work, I believe that applications, specifications and guides are not good enough, if the user meets problems and is frustrated enough to tell that loud. Then the problem is such that it matters.
And as here has already 3 - 4 members commented that the documentation is not up to date, then there is something to be corrected.
The docs affect to the whole usability. Well.. that is part of the marketing. And the marketing may be crucial to get such new members, who are not so "techie" AND have a lot to invest.

Some users (you?) may be so adaptive or clever that they find the right solution at first clance,
OR they do not stop themselves to think what was wrong with the first try, and forget that immediately after they find something that works Smiley

"Some users" - well, it may be also "the most of users", even "95 % of users" ...   of the users, who managed to struggle through the redemption phases Wink

sorry to have beeing feeling rude...

but I spent several hours to finally figures sutff out ALONE (as nohelp was helpful in fact).
I was even tell that what I was getting was wrong and I did not have them LOL!

To finally do all taht for nothing due to the outradeougs fees to transfer NEM from exchanges
(POLO and TREX are exactly the same). When for most coins, fees are 0.2-1 coin most of the time
with NEM, this is 15 coins....

So, for the number of coins I want to move from exahcnge, this is way too high to be worth it.

So, all those hours and messages for NOTHING... a bit frustrating ;-)

the fee is going to be lower. this is already in discussion

new fee-structure is already present in testnet. should hopefully be activated soon in mainnet

The Nanowallet works like a charm, I've got most of my XEM stashed away on my nanowallet.

It's up to anyone on how to store the wallet access file/code. I keep a hardcopy / written down just in case an EMP goes off in my house.

Safe as safe can be.

Do you have NanoWallet.exe or start.html ?

Start.html
Why would it be an exe?
It sets you up with a localhost site that connects you to a node of your choice.
Technically it's a cloud wallet, and the wallet file/code acts as your entrycard, so together with your password it's very safe.
A bandit or one-eyed pirate would need both the file and the password to gain entry. Not so easily done.

sorry to tell but it seems that some people really don't know what they are talking about
and are not aware of what is done in the current / last version available to install.

before to tell us that we are wrong, please, make your due diligence and ensure you
are telling accurate things to people.

It gives to new people with NEM (or older whom did not have a wallet) a very bad feeling. ;-)

I deleted what I installed with the NIS / NCC zip file.

Now, I wanted to install the nanowallet with the nanowallet zip file....

But now, the guide you shared with me does not match what I got after unzipping:
"Download the NanoWallet from nem.io. Extract the zip file and double-click "start.html""

I don't see ANY "start.html".

But I see a nanowallet.exe, as with every other wallet that I installed on my computer.
Cliking on it, send me to the windows I was searching for ever to be able to login / sign up.

You probably dowloaded something else, there is no NanoWallet.exe.

The light wallet is coded in js (someone correct me if not), no .exe extensions anywhere.

Run a scan with your malware remover/ antivirus, your computer might be compromised.

NanoWallet-1.4.0-win64.zip contains NanoWallet.exe. There is no start.html like in the instructions is said:
"Download the NanoWallet from nem.io. Extract the zip file and double-click "start.html" ".

yes, someone should tell, if there is something wrong ...

thanks a lot to confirm my point...

It seems as people trying to help and the documentations are really not up to date ;-)

No offence, just a statement from the experience I got in the last week with NEM

1)Getting listed on Kraken and a big Chinese exchange
2)Catapult
3)Marketing

The price would rocket.

I fully agree!

Guess the marketing is more about the Blockchain tech instead of the Tokens, but it would be the BEST marketing
if XEM goes up to the top 3 coins in marketcap.

I've been slowly accumulating NEM with what money I have spare at the end of each pay period (which is not all that much; I'm certainly no whale). Of all the various crypto I hold, NEM is one of the very few I hold the highest of hopes for.

Nope.
Great!

I am wondering about their timing ... right before august when markets are uncertain.

well that's some good news, finally what we've all been screaming about.
I've always thought that we are in a critical time right now, we could lose our gains to some up and comer and be forgotten in a second because of how the market is.
You can kind of already see that with the volume, 3 million is pathetic.
So I'm glad they recognize that time is critical and are taking steps to improve our condition instead of ignore it.
