When is on exchange you can buy what ever you want.

US citizens can't take part in ICO.But will they be able to use the product itself later?

I'm using it too, I've switched from NEO GUI to NEON because of Ledger Nano S support. The current version of NEON don't support Tokens (especially RPX), at the moment only NEO and GAS is supported.
The support of NEP5 and native assets will be supported with upcoming NEON version 0.0.8 as far as I know.
Of yourse you can send your RPX to the NEON/Ledger Wallet, but you will not have access to it until 0.0.8 is released.

In the NEO ecosystem, GAS serves a function similar to ETH: you need it to run smart contracts. The more the NEO network is used, the more GAS will be in demand.

NEO is like a share in the NEO network, which is why you can't divide them. NEO has two main functions: 1) over 22 years, each NEO will generate 1 GAS, so that by 2039 there will be 100 million NEO and 100 million GAS; and 2) once the feature is enabled, each NEO will receive a small share of the GAS spent on the NEO network.

So, in terms of valuation, it's true that GAS currently has a lower supply, and that you need GAS to use the NEO network. However, each NEO will generate 1 GAS (eventually) PLUS in the future will give you a small reward for every transaction that takes place on the NEO network. As you can imagine, if the NEO network becomes popular, these rewards may be quite significant. Thus, the value is NEO reflects the fact that each NEO has the potential to generate significant GAS income for as long as the NEO network exists.

The only drawback is that the minimum investment is 100 NEO - a bit too rich for me and, I guess, lots of other small investors.

Hope the next announced news by NEO is not that bad like the last one, which was leaked and they kept saying the weekend a big news is coming...

NEO went in back ground for few days but looks like it is preparing to be back again in market with lot of volume. I see today this market is turning into green again that is good. I was waiting to see the reverse trend to buy back little more. My wait is over now may be small impact of these conferences is on the market.
