Not letting them now will keep away any interest, even chances of seeing it online is possible, but without any knowledge it will not attract any interest

Yes, by providing good guidance or understanding and slow explanations, I think it will make it easier for children to understand what gambling is.

Yes, we know that there's no such thing about perfect parenting even if you dont gamble in front of  your kids but with those external factors that would really be your children would be able to encounter then it wouldnt really be giving out assurance that it wont really be that making them as a gambler. This is why it would really be that important that you should really be letting them at least know on what are the risks when you do deal up with gambling. We do know that not all would really be that good when it comes to self control. Good if your children does have that kind of discipline
but there's no way for us to let know if they would really be like  that.

This is why proper teaching and awareness on what gambling is, is much more better rather than on not on telling them at all. You are really that putting yourself

Ok, lets open a discussion again. Allow me to take you as an example. Dont say it on public, but rather answer to yourself. Do you and your father or mother have similar hobbies and work right now? Lets take it even deeper, try to remember what your parents usually did when you was a kid. Somehow I am sure that you have different interests in life. But like youve said, they did all that in front of you, but somehow you probably are different.

The idea is, that kids see to many things that adults do, but somehow many stress that they will get addicted to everything they see. If a father likes fishing, then the kid, when he grows up, will buy half of fishing store product range. That is how many posters here see things gonna turn. But that isnt like that.

I don't agree with your assertion that gambling in front of kids doesn't make them to grow to become gambling addicts rather it is the lack of proper teaching from parents that makes them grow to become addicted in vices like gambling.
Children are wired to do whatever they see an adult do and that's not because they know what they're doing but because they're absolutely ignorant of what they're doing but wants to do it because they saw an adult doing it. Children learn things that you didn't even teach them but what they see you do and that's why it's totally wrong to gamble in front of kids

And what would be the reason of not showing that we gamble? Because "good old they would become addicted", that has been mentioned here thousand times already? But kids dont grow addicted to everything they see. One of first things newborns see are pacifier. Kids dont grow addicted to pacifier. The reason why people turn addicted to gambling are their mental condition. Dont want kids to become addicted to gambling or other things - dont be a lazy parent. Education, spending time with them, talking, explaining are what prevents raise of addiction. But hiding, banning is not a solution, that is laziness and lack of desire to solve things.

Children usually learn everything from their parents and also come in contact with friends after growing up so a good friend must suggest good things. Also if the environment is good then good environment makes people healthy easily. A hazardous environment is a threat to the existence of life. Just as humans are adapting the environment to suit their needs the balance of the environment is being damaged. When the environment is bad everyone indulges in gambling and the chances of addiction are high starting from young children, the youth become addicted.

Being a responsible parent is not easy and requires learning from time to time so parents need to improve their abilities in educating their children. Parents also need to show their closeness to their children so that their children can discuss everything with their parents. This will give their children an understanding that their parents are figures they can trust to get the right information. When children start to grow up, they get used to saying things they might not know so they can get explanations from their parents. That would be better than getting an explanation from their peers where the information still needs to be clarified.

Parents can also choose not to tell in detail because they are not yet at an appropriate age to know this. Parents will only explain according to their age so that their children can understand based on what they want to know.

Yes, if parents feel there is no need to show it to their children, they can choose to hide their gambling activities and will only gamble when they are not at home. Of course, as parents, we will be shocked when we see our children gambling online and there will probably be many parents who will immediately scold their children if they see their children gambling.

Kids no longer need to ask parents to switch on a video skit on the mobile phone for them anymore. They simply do it themselves without any guidance. Hence, allowing kids around us watch while we gamble, will also affect them in similar ways. It's always a good idea to let kids to stay away from us before we engage in activities like gambling. For the good of the kids.

Most parents will just tell their children to go away when they see their parents gambling with their friends. That's actually a good point, where you just simply tell your children that it is just a simple game, but I still believed that they would still be learning that the mechanics of some games would need some bet if you do not inform them about the bad effects of gambling which they might think is normal cause they can't distinguish what's wrong and what's right. I think it's not really a good idea to bring your kids into an environment where people are betting up their money and relying on luck to win, it is not just about the game, it is that we are trying for them to not adapt and learn this kind of habits cause not only that they are a good imitator but also environment influence their behavior. When the time comes they encounter a gambling game that is familiar to them, for they are gonna be interested in playing it and it will continue which might lead to addiction. It's really much better for them to understand and learn when they can already decide for their own.

Though gambling isn't that bad for our kids to know because it's rather they're taught on the advantages and disadvantages of gambling by their parents than to allow them to grow up and be influenced to play gamble by their friends. It is very advisable for parents to teach and educate their children on this that can damage their lifestyle at an early age because if we do that they are going to grow up with what they are taught by their parents and it will make them to understand they dangers that surrounds taking such actions.

For me hiding ones gambling habit from the kids is not to good because whatever thing you're hiding from your kids one day they will definitely find out what you're hiding away from then so when they are aware of things you do that isn't really that good it will enable the kids to abstain from such practices when they are growing up. Even if they are to partake in that habit but they will be responsible in it since they've been taught about the do and don't by their parents.

Yes, that's right, in general, the assumption of people will be like that, that they think that children of that age will not be able to build their own involvement in gambling, at first glance, yes, it makes sense with the limitations that children have, but that's not entirely because obviously anything can happen unexpectedly. Your statement makes sense, that usually small children will be faster in responding and learning everything just by seeing other people do it, in addition to a child who is still unstable their curiosity level is very high, for anything that is fun then they will quickly understand it. Well, to be honest, I don't see anything really important here, playing gambling games in front of children is absolutely no big deal, children love games, and even if they don't know how to play, they would love to watch their parent playing games as watching can also be fun.

And why i said I see no big deal in this is that, like you said, children can not differentiate good from bad, same way they can not differentiate a gambling game from a normal video game which alot of our children play this days.

If you are gambling, like playing a slot game, there is no way your child will know that you are gambling except you tell him or her, what he or she will understand is that you are playing a game, simple.

And if you want, you can one day download a video game from Google playstore or iPhone app store and give the child to play, and make him or her understand that that was the same game he or she watched you play the other day, this way, they won't ever know anything about gambling until they grow up and start mingling with people outside like in school or so, who they may learn such thing if people they mingle with are people who already know about gambling.
