I will just contribute in the short way children learn a lot from us. In fact, they just repeat what we are doing. Anything you are doing in the presence means you are teaching them how to do it and they will just repeat exactly what you are doing gambling in front of the kids is very dangerous because they will repeat that and not even letting you know unless you find out yourself so I wouldn’t advise anyone to proceeded and gambling in front of the kid, if you are doing it please just stop it’s not a good thing

You're absolutely right about the importance of parental education in guiding children through life's challenges. It's essential to remember that while any addiction can be harmful, gambling itself is intended to be a source of pleasure and entertainment. By fostering a healthy understanding and approach to gambling as to all leisure activities parents can help their children enjoy these activities responsibly and safely.
Yes, parents education is necessary for their children so that they are not involved in things that will harm them. If parents can be friends and parents, their children will not hide what they do because they already trust their parents. They also won't want to try gambling because they already understand the impact of gambling on them.

There are many other activities that children can do besides gambling, especially using their devices more often than doing physical activities. We have seen that children in this era prefer to use their devices rather than do physical activities, and this is what causes a lack of socialization with each other.
I am sure that most parents are doing the best that they can already, it is just that now in many countries around the world both parents have to work in order to keep themselves afloat, and this is causing that many kids are growing without a strong parental figure that can guide them, so many of those kids are now looking the answers to their questions online, and as we know they can find all kind of mistaken information there that could warp the view they may have about gambling and they may try it at such an early age.

Sad reality that most of the time both parents needs to work to address the needs of their family, to extent that they need to work overtime and with that situation the time that they need to spend for their kids, and like what you mentioned there are many wrong information that the kids can get from the internet,

if you are not careful with what you are doing around your kids and they see you playing some type of gambling, that curiosty will arise and they will find ways to learn about the game,

it will be easier for those kids to find something that they will follow even as early as 4 years old which is now ready to adopt even those information are wrongly presented by those who are sharing it online.

Main word is many. Kids have access to enormous amount of information. Every single knowledge is accessible to them thanks to the internet. That is why focusing on hiding just one thing as gambling, when it isnt proved by science that every one who gamble get addicted, seems wrong to me. Hide one thing, they find interest in 100 other things.

With access to the internet, adults create problem out of everything, as they share each and every accidental fart they made and pump that problem to the size of the universe. Parents real all that crap about one kid who lived in Vegas in a family of gamblers, and who all of a sudden showed interest to gambling, which parents understood as addiction. And start to claim that everyone who has ever heard or saw an act of gambling, catches it like a kid in kindergarten catches running nose during seasonal flu.

Absolutely, I agree with you. It's crucial for parents to balance being an authority figure and a trusted ally to their children. However, it's important to maintain moderation in all things, including our approach to guiding them. Gambling can indeed serve as a form of social entertainment, but you also can essential to introduce children to a variety of activities that enrich their lives and expand their horizons.
Parents must educate their children so they do not take the wrong direction in socializing. Many children today have the wrong relationship and because their friends come from everywhere, it makes them get the wrong understanding. That's why if they are confused, they can ask their parents and get the right answer. That is why parents must be able to provide good knowledge to their children, and this also requires parents to learn more so they can guide their children well.

Yes, I'm sure of that too. But even so, parents cannot just hand it over to their children without any guidance from their parents. Nowadays, their children are exposed to more information, which means parents need to know what their children want to ask. Their children can search for the answers online, but if parents can provide more age-appropriate knowledge, it will help their children understand. Parents now have to learn more so they can understand their children's development well and educate them well.

Kids actually are not look for answers, they just look at what YouTube or google search and suggestion script gives them. As you say, parents work a lot, and to keep kid busy, they gave them tablets with full access to internet. What parents get with that? Few hours of free time and a kid who believes more to what a guy from short video say, than their parents. And with "never gamble in front" meaning, spending even less time with kids, the problem of wrong world understanding only grows.

People should ask themselves, is showing gambling to kids really that bad? I bet most of gamblers here, found out about gambling before they turned 18. Did bad things due to knowing it early really happened to you? Have you became addicted due to that?

By fostering a healthy understanding and approach to gambling as to all leisure activities parents can help their children enjoy these activities responsibly and safely.

You need to understand that when they are with their friends, you can no longer see what they're doing unless you have advised them not to do so because that's the important aspect of parenting when you give them important advice. When they are with those who gamble, they also become gamblers no matter how long it takes when they are with those people. Even when playing sports games like how we used to play basketball, they should not engage in betting if you don't want them to get used to it because that's when the problem starts. After all, it opens their craving for other betting games as well.

Indeed, once our children are out of our sight, we can't control their every action, but the key lies in ensuring they have a well rounded understanding of the issues at hand. This empowers them to form their own opinions and make informed decisions when faced with peer pressure.
For instance, if a child comprehends the potential harms of drugs, they're more likely to resist when friends encourage them to participate.
The same logic applies to other temptations like cigarettes, alcohol  and gambling.
Children might experiment out of curiosity, but with a strong foundational knowledge, they are less likely to continue harmful behaviors, choosing instead to protect their health and well being.

Kids deserve some respect from their parents, to be able to return the respect in same energy. Whatever behavior a father or mother exhibits in their kid's presence will register quickly in the child's brain. And he'll hardly avoid practicing those things even when said to be wrong or bad. Seeing his parents do it, validates that it's a good thing for kids to do. Gambling is widely spreading around every existing society, yet parents shouldn't be the influencers who help in marketing gambling to kids. Gambling in the presence of kids will only create a society where young people will abuse gambling profusely. Hence, when gambling, kids should be sleeping or busy with school assignments.

Nothing should link a parent and his kid to gambling, except when the need arises. Maybe when the child is heard using some gambling terms, he can be questioned about his involvement in gambling. At least he'd say something reasonable to help detect if he's interested in gambling or not. Aside from that, parents who gamble are expected to reduce their involvement in the game. To help build a responsible family that produces kids that'll help influence kids to behave rightly. Upbringing kids in the gambling way, will only hasten the rate at which young people get influenced by peers to begin gambling.

It would be better if we didn't gamble at home, and even if we gamble at home, we have to have a special room. Because when at home, a child can approach his parents at any time, even suddenly without us knowing.

And I agree with your opinion that when we are a family, we should minimize gambling activities as much as possible. Because gambling is not our main priority, nor is it an obligation, but just a hobby and fun. Family is much more valuable than gambling. and it is true that when someone is unable to manage gambling activities well, is unable to control himself when gambling, and is often involved in irresponsible gambling activities, this can really affect harmony in a household relationship.

Imagine a scenario where the gambler gets addicted, peace wouldn't be in that home anymore. Some gamblers don't think about the risks involved in their gambling attitudes, sometimes the kids suffer more than the addicted parent. Putting kids in an early stage of life in such a severe pain and trauma should be discouraged. Societal lifestyle has changed alongside the internet lifestyle. I thought it would be for the better, but lots of gamblers keep losing control even at home. The concept of online gambling is for privacy. As you suggested, doing the gaming privately wouldn't lead to any child seeing his parents gambling. I dislike when kids come closer to my screen and stay for a long time especially when viewing games.

It's better to watch movies together with them, than share same laptop screen. Because ads could appear unexpectedly. And their eyes are so catchy that they'll observe every single move on the screen. Married people out of love for their beloved home are expected to forgo some certain unhelpful habits. And focus in building a memorable childhood for their kids, by forfeiting time meant for gambling, and investing it on spending valuable time with the children. Teaching them what to learn and what not to learn out there in the society. These are reasonable conversations that could change a child's future for good.

Better to be hypocrit just to prevent influencing our kids to something that we don't want them to be involve, I like your point when you say that they can imitate us which is true, young minds always have that curiosity, each time they've witness something that they think that we are enjoying probably the interest inside their minds will play on them, thinking that it will be enjoyable if they also have that same chance to play or to follow the path, gambling is not something that we can easily explain so if you are not that type of a person who are good in explaining things, then it's best not to show any in front of your kids to avois any ideas.

Someone always imitates our behavior and behavior as their parents, even though it is quite difficult for us to express our interest in something (gambling), rather than them being influenced by what we do, it would be better if we try not to show or tell them. gambling activities to them (children)

You are right kids have the ability to adapt fast to what their parents are involved in. For instance, a child who always watch his dad beat up his mom would probably grow up becoming a woman beater, therefore parents should be very careful with what they do in the presence of their kids, and since gambling is prohibited for kids, gambling in front of kids is not a good decision. Imagine a child who starts gambling at age 12-14 before the child gets to 18 they would've become addicted to it not only that they might start involving in dubious acts like stealing from their parents to fund their account. Some person would say parents should restrict their kids from owning phones or devices but it's not about the phone cause they could use that phone to learn and play video games but rather teach kids the disadvantages of gambling and also let them know it's against the law for them to be involved in it, no child would want to be penalised for breaking the law so I believe they would resist from doing it if parents creat awareness to them

I would surprise you by saying that kid wont become addicted. And here is why, kids at 12-14 or in their teenager period focus on multiple things. They think they are grown-ups now, and new horizons for them are open. If not mistaken, this is a period of first relationships. Period of their "first one and only love" Cheesy Anyway, at that age, it is hard for kids to focus on one thing. Do you really think they would gamble for hours daily, so that hobby later would turn into addiction? That is a joke. First try to make kid do one and the same thing each daily for weeks and I would smile when you would fail to even force him to do something regularly even with a reward.

Ok, there might be a situation when 1 out of million kid would get interested into gambling, will spend his money and steal from parents, as you say. But that is a tiny % in statistics. And do you really think that every parent now must hide his gambling sessions from every kid? Then why dont parents lock their kids in a room until they hit 18? Because until that, they might see violence in games, movies at home. Play video games were others get killed. Talk to other kids and "learn bad" and etc.

We are as parents does really know on how education would really be changing up someones lifes and this is something a foundation on which it would really be making our children to have at least that kind of assurance that they could get a job or having that advantage in compared into those people who doesnt have that education. What more if they would really just not be able to finish up their studies and would really be focusing directly on making money through gambling? For us parents then we arent that dumb on how people do end up with gambling. This isnt something that you could really be able to make your future better with it.~

Actually, it's not only gambling. Anything that is not education, be it working as a longshoreman in a port or a street food seller will turn out to be bad, if you are doing as a kid instead of getting education. We, as parents, should tell ours kids to not waist their time on making money through dull jobs, because all their time must be spent on education. And meanwhile we should provide them food and shelter. Even if gambling was just another way of making money(which of course gambling is not) it would better for our kids to stay away from it while they are young.

Of course this is what is worried about, anything can happen that we never even expected before and I think most parents definitely do not want to see their children fall into gambling, No matter if for example the country legalizes gambling activities but if these activities are carried out by children who are still underage then the parents should be able to think rationally that it will be able to threaten their future and also they should be able to think that a child who is still underage then surely they cannot think reasonably and will not be able to consider something rationally to make a decision and what happens is clear that most likely they will only lose a lot of money blindly.

However, it is the duty and obligation of both parents to protect and direct their children to things that are good for themselves and their future, therefore we as parents must really be able to research or identify the possibilities that can be done by a child when they hang out with other people, not that you have to always restrain them but certainly always keep an eye on them so that they are not wrong in associating with the environment.

Simple test, gamble few times in front of kids (this wont do any harm, trust me) and ask them in few weeks what they remember from it. You would be surprised that they dont remember anything or remember little. And ask them what game they played 2 weeks ago on Thursday evening at 20:00 and they not only will tell you the name of the game, but will explain the level they were on. Or will explain in details what was video about that they have watched that day. And try to ban mobile or tablet for a week, and see how rage the kid would be. What I am saying that among all addictions and bad things that kid could learn, people have chosen not most harmful, but put a lot of attention to fighting it.

P.S. better read in front of kids with a hope that they will get addiction to reading. Because it is surprisingly sad how little kid read today, and how much time they spend in gadgets and rely on helpers.

Absolutely, that's a thoughtful perspective on the balance between home education and external influences. It's crucial that the values and habits we teach at home align with what children encounter in the world. By being open about topics like gaming and setting a good example, we can remain influential in our children’s choices and behaviors. I totally agree that encouraging activities like reading over passive content consumption helps develop critical thinking and curiosity, rather than just absorbing content.
That's true.
Parents owe their kids the responsibility of instilling good habits and values on their kids and also understand that those habits should be adaptable to what they encounter outside the home.

Parents must realize that they can't shield their children from all the dangers in the society, so rather than putting more effort in trying to shield them from the dangers, they should rather put that effort in preparing them to be able to deal with those dangers and how to tackle them when they approach them, and that includes offering them guidance in their media consumption, because asides the environment, children are mostly influenced by what they encounter in the media.

Parents can also try their best to encourage their kids to get involved with more educational forms of entertainment like reading, playing games that impacts them positively and other creative activities.

It's devastating to restrict a child from using his smartphone, the same way it is inadmissible, gambling in their presence. Kids don't have the right to participate in gambling. Their rights are to play video games. When they see a parent gambling on screen, the child at first will assume his dad is playing video games. And that's what gambling is, looking at it. So, if a child is not told of gambling being wagering money to win more, he'd be beyond thought to accept his dad or mom is playing mere games just as he does on the TV. Unfortunately, society is broad, and kids now stay much far away from their parents, due to school activities. Grownups don't have quality access to their kids because of work activities.

Parenting is the toughest job out there. Our kids are watching us, learning every single day. If we gamble casually, guess what? They'll think its fine, and thats a path we dont want them on.

Solutions arent some complex plan. Its about being present - not just around, but truly involved.  Talk to them about stuff, even the difficult topics like the dangers of gambling. Kids deserve clear answers. We gotta get back to basics. Invest time in teaching, not just saying "dont do this." Thats the best protection we can give them. Open communication, guidance... thats the parenting gold standard, and thats what makes a difference.

We are in a generation where nobody wants to do, perfectly, the parenting job. It's manly done halfway, due to the economic condition of the world. I see parents on social media battling with four different jobs, that's quite unbearable. So, the level of home training capable of truly improving a positive lifestyle of a child, growing up, is hard to attain. Most times the time to do the teaching would be the child's favorite sleeping moment. However, there is time for giving out the best teachings to kids, just that it's a resting time for the parents. You see that the schedule in some families is not collaborating, such that the trouble only worsens. Hence, the best thing to do, is not gambling when around those kids.

A parent who has the luxury to gamble around his kids, can use that moment to have quality conversation with them, and teach them about the downside of gambling. Also add the advantages of gambling. The problem most players face today, is that they never had an idea of any good aspect of gambling. Within them, addiction is the only thing that happens to gamblers. Not knowing that gambling could be used to develop self-control, time management, etc. Starting out by sharing the good things found in gambling, can open a responsible gambling thought on the child, when he gets to adulthood. People think much of addiction, that's why, in my response, they get addicted.

I think this should not be taking for granted because children are very funny, what they see while growing up that is what they will pick up and grow with more expecially the ones that can have serious effect in their life. When children grows to adapt gambling lifestyle from the people around them it is very difficult for them to be free from it. We must learn to make our gambling lifestyle to be a thing of private expecially when their kids around us.
Our kids, they're uprising and swiftly learn about every crucial information coming their way. The kids should know about gambling during their teen and also taught the advantage a d disadvantages of gambling. That will become a decision for them to either gamble or leave it and focused on another prominent activity that will keep the incoming rolling in. Kids of this current generation, they adapt every single detail and know the basis of the gambling system because they've access to them with their smart phones and gadgets.

Hence, quality home training is rarely obtained in the current era. Unless those homeschooling kids have enough time to teach and watch over them. Some kids come home meeting an empty home, filled with gadgets and electronics, and no single human. It's quite boring, they'll hang out with other kids like them, whose parents are still at work. The lessons they learn there also matter in how a child behaves. Oftentimes, nothing meaningful is discussed, and gambling is mainly discussed, as they want extra funds. To compete with other kids in school. Hence, the societal struggle to balance our economy has affected the quality of home training kids once had in the past. Some parents after work are exhausted and would want to gamble at any given time regardless of whether the child is watching or not.

Kids are smart, he'll begin to wonder why a full-grown adult will get genuinely sad over a video game. There, their instinct can get to flashback on the conversation he had with other kids on gambling, he'll match the reactions on dad's face, and understand his dad gambles as well. If ads and peers influence the child's thinking, seeing his mom or dad gamble validates his decisions. Nothing stops a child from doing or trying what he saw his dad or mom do. Parents, I think, should be considerate and make a reasonable time and space for their gambling activities. Where the kids wouldn't find or see them. At least where you'd see the child first, then change the tab. Simple practices such as this help furnish a healthy home. Health is wealth.

Every child should receive moral education. And the most important way to acquire moral education is religious education. If a child does not understand the difference between good and bad then that knowledge cannot bring any improvement in the life of that child. Most children do not know whether gambling is good or bad. If gambling is bad then the child needs to understand how terrible its effects can be. If you fail to explain the bad side of gambling to your child then the child will become addicted to gambling and destroy his life as well as the family.

Need to know moral education for stay safe for an example below.
Moral education is currently somewhat reduced because if we look at the development of children today, they tend to prefer violence rather than discussing it with each other. Maybe this results from a lack of information or closeness to their parents because their parents are busy with their work, so they cannot always supervise their children. Many children get involved in things that are detrimental to their lives, which can cause problems for their parents too. If children get involved with gambling, they will become gambling addicts at a young age. It will be riskier for them and also their parents because it will be difficult for them to give up gambling.

Absolutely, both of you have touched on crucial points. Education truly is key. By openly discussing both the risks and realities of gambling with young people, we empower them to make informed decisions. It’s not about shielding them from the truth but rather equipping them with the knowledge to handle it responsibly if they ever encounter it.

Highlighting that gambling like many things in life, can be enjoyable when approached with moderation and self awareness helps clarify it and removes the taboo that often makes it more appealing. Just as we educate kids about the risks of speeding or smoking, teaching them about responsible gaming and the importance of self control is essential. This approach not only prepares them for the digital world where gambling is just a click away but also helps them develop critical thinking about various life choices.
Education is an important thing that parents must provide apart from getting an education from school. Parents must give their children basic education so that their children know what they must do because their parents' education is different from the education they get at school. If their parents can provide a good education at home, it can protect them from bad things, especially when hanging out with their friends. They will be able to behave as necessary and not take the wrong path because they have received education from their parents.

Gambling is something that can ruin their future, especially if they are already a gambling addict. They will not be able to get out of gambling easily if there is no help from their parents and the people around them. Therefore, parents must always be able to monitor and accompany their children's development so that their children will not do something that could have a bad impact on their children.
