I've also read many confessions about their gambling addiction and how it destroyed their lives in different instances. There were people also asking for help and advices on how to combat it and how to quit successfully. There's more to it than you think. Although these things aren't developed overnight, so it's most of the time a you-error. And if you don't want this to happen to your kids or to your nephews or nieces, then you should at least do not let them be involved in gambling and tell them the cons of it once they reach a certain age to distinguish whether it's worth the risk or not.
Hit me with a story of a kid being gambling addicted and ruining his life. That would be a perfect counter for my post.
Yes, gambling addiction is real and it destroys lives. But it destroys only adult lives who seeks a solution of financial issues in gambling. Ever saw a 10yo kid that has 50 bucks left till salary, dont know how to pay rent and creditors are calling him all the time? I didnt. Only adults destroy their lives in gambling.
I'll give some more info to think about. We all know how bad investment destroys lives. How people lose money on buying wrong assets, how they sell them during panic. We all like to say, DYOR, think, analyse market. In short, investment is not a joke, its complicated, it destroys lives. And on the other hand we teach kids about Bitcoin and investing from the very childhood.
Why then investing is something that must be taught from early age, so that kid can start investing as soon as possible (or loosing money as soon aa possible), and in the same time we should hide fact of gambling existence, because (it is never proved) the kid will obligatory get addicted and ruin his live (and not gamble for fun, to test luck, theory of probability, learn to add 6+9 after all).
I have told numerous times in this topic - talk with your kids, teach your kids, study your kids, spend time with your kids, explain everything to your kids, give and show examples, let them get experience, let them understand how world works. But people are like monkeys: "ahh-ahh, gambling=bad=bad=bad, uuu-uu", "oohh-ohhh, watch=addiction, uu-uuu", "I will never tell, show, explain, because someone once told me, that he was told, that in a page was written".
Better check what your kids watch on YouTube or search in the internet, than hide that you once a month place a dollar bet.
