In my personal opinion, this is just another marketing strategy. People behind the project that says this their project will dominate or beat Bitcoin for them to have lots of investors, which is for me is impossible. Because we all that Bitcoin is the mother of all altcoins, this project already gained its reputation in crypto-world. But still, people behind this project is very optimistic. There’s nothing bad being one.
I think they can not beat Bitcoin a very slim possibility because Bitcoin's achievements can never be beaten because it's good. Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrancy and the most popular cryptocurrancy when viewed from how the value will occur now in the market.
I believe that Bitcoin will always be the leader in the cryptocurrency market and no coin will replace it for at least the next five years. Bitcoin has the advantage that other coins, though born later, still can not replace Bitcoin.

I believe that this strategy, chosen by the leaders of this project, is badly known and will not bring any positive results. They just want to create a hype due to the popularity of bitcoin, but it only influences them negatively. Personally, my opinion.
i dont think so it able to defeat bitcoin. the reason is there is a lot altcoin that providing better services than bitcoin but still cant compete with bitcoin. for example xlm . xlm got a cheaper fee and faster transaction yet still far away from bitcoin. i dont know what kind services that will be provided by this project that you mention. but i believe there is no way it defeat the bitcoin.
