Speaking of connections. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE?!?! I am not finding connections...

-MarkM-

Good question I only see three from a getinfo here, hell even the original solidcoind I have running on that machine has two.

No DNS option. I have an addnode to an IP, probably some long term node like bitparking that I added when having trouble finding connections.

Why is it the only coin that keeps dying from some attempt to use boost to do DNS lookups?:

Code:
EXCEPTION: N5boost16exception_detail10clone_implINS0_19error_info_injectorINS_6system12system_errorEEEEE
resolve: Host not found (authoritative)
i0coin in ThreadOpenConnections()

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost::exception_detail::clone_impl >'
what():  resolve: Host not found (authoritative)

It takes a LONG time to scan its chain when I start if again after such a crash (re-scanning to make sure chain is intact not damaged in the crash). So it tends to be down a long time each time this stupid crash happens.

-MarkM-

A quick look at bitcoin code seems to indicate that this could happen if -connect/-addnode and -dns options are enabled. Check configuration file to see if you have those enabled.

If someone can address the memory problem in i0coin they said they would return
the exchange back.

Dear Lightlord,

we stopped the trading and support of I0C because of the huge memory requirement of the wallet. We are running our servers in a datacenter, a 2GB memory VPS costs you in the range of 30 USD to 50USD monthly.  And looking at the growth of the chain, we are anticipating a growth of 80MB per month, hence sometime end of next year the wallet will require 3GB of memory.    Unless the memory usage isn't addressed, I see no possibility of supporting the I0C chain.

Not the reason but -.-
Just sad to see i0coin a community worked currency died.

Btw the other alt-currencies that the creator started with some to pocket weren't legit mining,
I actually legit mined mine. And I haven't sold any of mine yet for a year,
even when an exchange was up and running, and at prices of 0.0005 and above.

I am going to open up a 10,000 i0coin BOUNTY,
To anyone that can fix this problem.

I second that

And just for the fun of it - I add 20,000 i0coin to the bounty ...

I will add 5,000 if I can find them.

Don't forget win bunnies too. Smiley

I don't have enough to join the bounty, but I'd be happy to alpha/beta-test the bunnies during the process.

iocoin is my favorite coin.  Hopefully someone will take lead in the project and vircurex will start the chain back up.

PM me if you're interested in selling or buying I0coins.  I purchase and sell them from time to time for BTC.

Never know when being an I0coin millionaire can pay off!

There is always over the counter, too.

How many I0coin would you offer for an Ixcoin, or vice versa? Or for a Terracoin? How about some GRouPcoin? DeVCoin, maybe? You can exchange Ixcoin and DeVCoin to bitcoin at Vircurex still...

I've got a boatload from where I was merged mining on bitparking, I suppose I'll swap 'em up and out.
Is i0coin dead? I stared merged mining on my p2pool node ad get a few of them, but seems like it is impossible to exchange i0coin to BTC anywhere.

Sort of... if you want to set up and use the open transactions server and setup the various altcurrency clients to interface with it then there is this option:

Are any exchanges still exist for this currency?

They still exist on the Digitalis Open Transactions server: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/open-transactions-server-assetbondcommoditycryptocoindeedsharestock-exch-53329

Is anyone even taking responsibility for the software at this time?  If so, they probably need to come in dust off the edges around this system or it's likely it will see the same fate as GG, TBX and FBX.... :-(

I recommended this for the DVC people too but perhaps this could be a saving grace here as well, which is to implement a ledger based system to enable efficient block chain pruning etc. all while preserving the system's merge mine and current feature set.
