Either btcguild is lagging really far behind, or the chain has already been forked going considerably far back. They're still showing themselves as winning every block, which I can see isn't the case. Their block count from their pool server is also lower than what my client is showing.

Exactly. Their block count is about a 1000 back from what my client is telling me.

can't. catch. up. to. blockchain! gah!!!

Whoever got i0c balance, go start opening ask offers on i0exchange Cheesy

I can't find an i0exchange that is taking i0 deposits yet - but I'm willing to sell a few to anyone interested. Smiley

The site is probably not keeping up with the block generation. It is updated on a 1 minute interval and with multiple new blocks every second, that's a 120 blocks lag at least.

I predict there are several blockchains all more than 120 blocks apart, bitcoin doesn't know how to 'orphan' block chains with so much difference, this will create a clusterfuck of seperate blockchains that cannot be reconciled. This was an abortion, it should have had difficulty 10000 to start.

no, this is great, i got a bunch of blocks

You will lose them, I had 480 confirmed coinz go poof, and then 400 different blocks start downloading.

This actually good. It answers the question: "Well, why can't somebody just make another coin that makes bitcoin useless?"

Uh.. WTF just happened?  ALL of my blcoks just disappeared along with my entire balance.
I think what I mentioned a few posts above yours. Before your block was fully confirmed (>100-120 confirmations), an alternate block chain (probably BTCguild's own view of the winners) managed to get more confirms than the chain your block was in.

And for those of you wondering why a single pool getting >50% of the network's hash rate, consider this an example of what they could do. Smiley

I'm not 100% certain but I don't think the protocol cares how many confirmations you've got. It will always take the longest chain.

Yeah but this happened even on blocks that had well over 120+ confirmations.

Oh and so many people didnt understand when I told them mining at the pool you would have a better chance than solomining at this difficulty.
