Very sensible. Does the Technical Support Forum get trolled a lot? If not it would be handy to have it open.

I actually registered in order to get some tech support...Sad

I guess this post restriction prevents nothing since one could just spam the newbie forum and then spam the others. And the 4 hours only oh my god how can anyone afford this monstrosity. Just saying and I'm not reading the whole thread but i guess someone will have stated this alreday.

PS: 4 to go and 3:50 hours to wait
PPS: find some sarcasm? keep it.

Yes, I thought the same and expressed this earlier. Though, this is still better than nothing. Just got promotion Smiley but hey this newbie section still looks good to me (honestly, I consider myself still newbie).

Good luck with promotion to everybody and yeah, after you have spent  4 hours, it will take aroudn 10 min to get your account promoted.

The 5 post policy is good because it at least requires everyone to say something ...however the 4 hour rule seems a bit strict. How is the 4 hour calculated anyways?

The newbiew policy is good and respectable but does it really prevent the forum from trolls?

This is all fair and reasonable, but as I was in the habit of skimming TOS at best, I was so confused when I created an account and couldn't find a "post" button.  I've seen this scheme on other forums but they are pretty good about embedding some text warning about the posting limits for newbies.

Ya know, I've been around here searching for a very long time and never posted. This taught me a good lesson today... Wink

I should have looked at the Newbies forum first :-) - had to email a moderator to know this. May be this can be at a more prominent location ?

the 50 post rule was good and might have actually helped clean up the other forums.  This new policy will do nothing and the other forums are already full of spam.

Agreed, I think this policy is complete stupidity.  4 hours online???  WTF, like I have nothing else to do but stay online for 4 fucking hours waiting to be able to post or reply?  I'm not a fucking child!

Understood. I hope to get rid of my newbie status soon.

But, I may retain my noob status just a bit longer.
