Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts (new topics or replies).

That´s good, If anyony is serious about this few posts and few hours online is not too high entry point. I have moderated some forums (not bitcoin related) and have seen what flood o spam can do for even well established forums.

From a few months of lurking on the main forums, it's obvious that these restrictions don't actually prevent the trolling, but are a pain for those who now want to unlurk.

I think that's fair. It keeps things clean and prevents people from posting just for the sake of taking up space. Now I just have to spend some time hanging out and learning how all of this stuff works.
