I saw some complains that people want to participate in non-newbie threads so the restrictions are perceived as annoying. My question in that case: is that other thread really so fast moving that you cannot spent some 4 hours here in the newbie forum and then move on?

ANd yes, I mainly posted that question to get one more post...   Grin

I'd like to suggest letting anyone post but have their first message (or first few messages) moderated.
I used this policy for my yahoo groups and never had any spam problems.

That's I think tough since it requires manual Moderator work. With a forum the size of BitCoinTalk...that may be problematic.
