Ok interested in a 51% attack on LTC people are talking about... can anyone expand or link me to a useful topic explaining what this is and why I should be aware of such threats.

The restrictions are in place partly because of spammers, if you spam to get your post count up...it probably won't end well.

The timer also seems to climb more slowly than reality would dictate.

I understand that these restrictions are probably necessary, I have an important message to post about Coinabul in their thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=50103.0;all to warn other users. However since i have to do so much legwork to get the word out, it is unlikely that less motivated users would take the time and effort to warn others or provide feedback.
