I think this is perfectly reasonable, but it would help to put some text on the top or bottom of the page notifying new users of this.  I was looking for some information on how to move forward with posting before I randomly stumbled on the noob subforum.

Makes sense. I just ordered some hardware so it'll be a little bit until I'm really into this stuff, but registered here to get started early.

While I am constructing an alternate forum for consideration, one that will remove posts to a moderation queue based on every conceivable event (e.g. words, username, ip, etc.) this is probably the most maintainable solution to the spammers and trollers and others who have nothing better to do than to denigrate the things we have all taken into consideration and alter the conversation away from why we are here in the first place.

It is great to set guidelines and define principles which we can allow follow so things stay organised.

Do people sell BTC in bulk or singular ? Also I take it when buying time comes its best to keep an eye on the BTC index thingy?

Bulk and single, go checkout an exchange..

mtgox or another!

It really depends on what you are looking to do. If you are looking to accept BTC as payment for an E-Com site I would go with Paysius because they integrate well with your major E-Commerce platforms (Ubercart for Drupal 6, osCommerce, etc). Personally though, I would not recommend mtgox for anything. I use Intersango when I am in a pinch to withdraw to Dwolla because they are super fast. The only bad thing about Intersango is that the bids are lower than mtgox.

I cannot find the FAQs.  I asked on chat but nobody there knew either.  Can someone please post the link to the FAQs? They need to make these easier for newbies to locate them.

I am unhappy with the restrictions.

This was a 'spam' post to get my count up so I can post my one and only single contribution to this site in a thread for BFL orders.

Hey that is similar to me as well. imagine that!!

BFL orders.

I hear they are OVERWHELMED with orders. might not get any until after november.

There goes trying to get in before the Difficulty makes it not profitable!

Yep, I've got a gadget on my win7 machine that tells me the prices of BTC from MT GOX and updates however often you like..  Link below:)

I think these new member restrictions are OK but also inconvenient

Very inconvenient and probably very needed as well ...

Any way there not to hard to to get around, in 4 hours of reading your should be able to add something useful or a +1 to some of newbie topics around. Gives the added extra that topics that are most interesting for newbies get auto bumped ...

any way 5/5, off to "Marketplace" in a few I hoop.  Kiss
