this makes total sense and i appreciate the fact that the forum is trying to control spammers.
The system is automatic? because any spammer that know that would be quick to bypass it... I think it would be better to limit post to 4 (or few)per day with captcha for each post for newcomers instead... that would give immediat access to every sub forum instead to stuck in that place? but maybe i missed something...
How long is the reaction time between the 4h expiring and access being granted? I am approaching 5 minutes...

This was a good idea to go with. It shows who are legit users and who are the trolls.
I saw some complains that people want to participate in non-newbie threads so the restrictions are perceived as annoying. My question in that case: is that other thread really so fast moving that you cannot spent some 4 hours here in the newbie forum and then move on?

I dont mean to complain but this restriction just causes alot of bs posts in that section, but thats just what i think.

dont mind the policy it seems fair to me. look forward to branching out to other sub forums.
the newbie policy is very annoying if you have only the best in mind to calm down some folks that fear been hacked at mtgox, but your not allowed because you only read the forum without registering until now. I think this is my last post on this forum, i will not post 5 stupid thinks just to post some real information.
