When does this take effect? I have 5 posts and > 4hrs yet am still a newbie
Damn I knew I should have registered and posted here earlier instead of just lurking.
Except now I have to make empty messages of content to get those 5 posts created so i can really post where i want hah...

nope, i think its even worse because people will flood the newbie section just to pass the restrictions..
Does the policy really work to prevent a bunch of spammers?

4 hours is indeed a long time. It doesn't even seem accurate, is the forum aware of every moment that I have the tab open or something?

I am very glad to finally have found this info - it is much more liberating than not being able to post at all!
I guess, however the issues mentioned above(server slow serving pages and not accurately account time) will discourage new users this late in the game
I think it is great that they are attempting to keep the forum at a quality level
