This seems sensible but silly when i waited to join till i saw something relevant to my interest it looks like this would encourage "spam" in the newbies section simply to be allowed to do something productive
Sooooo close, 30 more minutes and I lose my noob status. Does noob-stink wash off with regular soap or do I need like lavasoap or something?

While I do completely understand the reasons for this, and appreciate the reduced spam which has resulted from it, I would have quite a few more non-trolling posts had I been allowed to participate in the main forum, too. Please, sir, can I play now?

Interesting concept of reducing spam entries.
A bit problematic if you have a legit question but have to do some other posts first before being able to post your original question.

I suggest that there should also be an option of donating 10 USD worth of bitcoins to become a poster. Ten USD should be enough to weed out most spammers and the donations would help maintain the site. Also eventually, the system in witcoin:

Meh, it's their forum, their bandwidth, their resources. They can set what limitations and restrictions they like.
