Well I just made a tonne of money holding Bitcoin for the past 2 years. I want to discuss speculation, technical analysis, and other things. It's so excited to see the price go up so fast and with the media coverage.

How much? If you don't mind me asking.

These rules make sense but I wish the hundreds of hours I've spent reading without being logged in going back to early 2011 could count Smiley

I used to frequent another board with similar noob restrictions and the post limits never really stopped the undesirables, only slowed them down. I'm glad at least the search feature is not crippled, with that I've been able to learn a lot with 0 posts.

The restrictions just stop people like me from getting help from the likes of bitinstant etc Sad

I understand the need to reduce spammers and such, but I only joined to get a few questions answered from the creator of my pool.... this is going to mean I am not mining as efficiently until the "newbie" status is lifted. PIMA

Bit disappointed that these restriction have been put in retroactively (I joined before they where put in place and did enter some posts). A private message would have been in order to warn of this new policy

There should really be a notification of this somewhere, or a link to this thread under the help section, under how to post.  I was absolutely clueless until I searched "how to post," which is really a counter-intuitive workaround...

Same here.. after 3 days of total cluelessness I finally found this topic and discovered why I was unable to post. Very annoying. Sad

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts (new topics or replies).

If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic.

Also:
- Newbies cannot upload their own avatars.
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.

Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted. (The system automatically checks every 10 minutes and promotes people as appropriate.)

I hate the 5 posts rule.. I made PM
