I think that we'll just see a wave of institutional adoption in 2020 as opposed to any real new innovations. This is due to the fact that there were simply so much institutional interest at the start of 2019, with a bunch of investment banks expressing their willingness to dabble in the crypto markets.

That means that I think large caps will likely benefit more from the bull run rather than innovative ICOs, which can be seen to be more risky.

But the one area that I think will be of interest could potentially be IoT, dominated currently by IOTA and IOST. Especially with the slim to none transaction fees and the scalability promises.

The next big thing on crypto is the halving that will happen this April - May 2020. But I think it will take effect on 2021. The price of bitcoin will for surely gonna rise up because the supply of the bitcoin will be half. That is gonna be a good thing and it will for surely help the community to grow. The market that time will be green for sure.

ooo hard to say man, its all been done at this point haha. Tho every year the whales seem to create SOMETHING in the way of hype
did the "DEX hype" ever play out tho? maybe that will finish off in 2020 here Tongue

other then that i think it will just be the "2.0" hype, everything finishing long development cycles (i.e ETH, zcash), tho that stuff actually is pretty REAL it seems (for once lol)

I think crypto will grow big. many updates from crypto. starting with the best coins namely bitcoin which will do halving, ethereum which will update to version 2.0, and I think there will be more updates from other crypto. I believe that progress and big adoption of crypto is imminent. we will see a big surprise for the world.

Bitcoin halving is the next big thing for sure. I have no hope for Ethereum 2.0 release nor in Libra or TON anymore. Dapps, Defi, Crypto smartphones, Dex are the next big thing in this decade! Therefore I am looking into some projects that can be a big asset in the crypto market in the near future. The FunctionX presents BOB smartphones can be a big move in the crypto industry. Let's welcome this new decade and see what crypto brings to us.

maybe he only foccus on other majority alts and not only on a single altcoin . like him i dont always aware that some altcoin increase because i only check my own portfolio and all i can see is reds but its nice to hear it from you that litecoin increase some good percent . 20 usd to 140 usd by last year ? woah that was already alot for just an altcoin but ltc is not just an altcoin . ltc was a mainstream coin and i know that ltc still lots of potential and can rise higher than 140 usd .

Next big thing in crypto is Bitcoin. Altcoins, blockchain technology, tokens, smart contracts, dapps - they will fade away in this new decade, with only Bitcoin remaining. I think this process has already started, everyone recognizes that alts aren't doing well and people wait for "alt season", the next stage will be a realization that there will never be any alt season, that 99% of alts are useless and that you can't seriously compete with Bitcoin.

I am also with the expectations about the 3 points that you have indicated. it's still a long time there's still time in february and we will see demand that may not be unstoppable ,crypto can go rises very fast regarding prices so I don't need to worry like last year's bearish ,ethereum 2.0 is indeed not yet stable but we will also see prices increase by investors later

Honestly it is hard to give prediction. It is also hard to assume that this is the right time for bitcoin and eth. All we know that crypto price is always matter in all of us but always remember that we need an additional plan and option in case that it will not happen. And I know that all of us are hoping for the huge price increase in this year 2020.

But now, there are lesser people who are investing with them.

Some say it might the ETH 2.0 which will get the most hype.
Yet that is unknown. There will be a beta test for staking of course and we still need to try it out.

end of 2017 to 2019 has been a very bad year for crypto, because of a falling market and many developing ICO scams.
and big events are also needed to make the market recover. Major events such as Halving bitcoin and the Launch of ethereum 2.0 will be the most anticipated event in 2020. hopefully can improve the current state of the crypto market.

As other members mention, in 2020, we will see another halving time of bitcoin, and who knows, before the halving time, the market will start to increase for $10k first until the halving time happens. And then, after the halving time, bitcoin will still adjust the price, and after a few months later, the bitcoin price will start to rise and hit the highest price. We have the same hope that wants to see this year will bring us to situations in which we can make a big profit, like what we did in 2017. But let us see what will happen later this year, and if what we want is happening, then we can come back to make a big profit again.

of course the big thing that awaited after bitcoin halving day is bitcoin can be bull run. 2020 is a hopeful year for all crypto holders to hope that this year bitcoin can reach a price of another $ 20k. and also hope that after the bitcoin bull run the altcoin market can be green again. because it's been two years the red altcoin market and most of the altcoin has lost its value. Bitcoin halving will happened on May 2020 but eth migration to POS still not sure if occurring this 2020 but I'm sure they probably rushing out and preparing everything for it.

None of us know what will happened but Im sure everyone here wanted the market to go back to the time of 2017 bull run. Anyway let's just hold first our btc and eth until their prime event occured already and see whether the result of holding is worth it.
