Two blowout games yesterday and two close games today. Thanks to the Steelers pulling off the upset win in KC, I had pretty decent results overall once again, fortunately. Hopefully the winning continues into next week and finally with the Superbowl. And congrats, vella on winning your EPL parlay along with your GB bet. Very nice, mate!

NFL Playoffs Divisional Round results:

It was a great round for both of us mate and how good was that yesterday with the 2 dogs winning in close games. It now makes for an interesting Conference Championships this Sunday. Could we see a Steelers Packers Super Bowl from a few years ago? or will the Pats be there once again and win it all? And let's not forget the Falcons as they have been a surprise packet for me this season and at the start of the season they were 40-1 to win the Super Bowl and here they are just one win away from making it. I can't wait for Sunday to come along.

Yeah me too, I'm really looking forward to watching the Packers and Cowboys game and I did put something on the Packers to win as the dogs. I believe they have a great shot at winning the game but on the other hand I know how tough the Cowboys are to beat at home this season which makes for an exciting game to watch. Good luck Junko with the Steelers and hopefully they can get the job done for you later tonight.
Gratz on the Packers winning bet, vella. Nice one, mate! I didn't bet this game just because I wasn't feeling it, betting-wise, but wow, what a thriller of a game. The Cowboys came back from being down 21-3 and from 28-13 to tie it up twice, only to fall victim to the magic of Aaron Rodgers leading the Pack with just 33 seconds left to set up the last second game winning field goal. Rodgers deserves league MVP over any of the other candidates by more than a mile. I'm not a Packers fan at all, but there's no denying Rodgers is the Man right now.

Thanks mate and I must admit that I was a little worried lol after the Packers gave up those leads during the 2nd half. And because I went with the Packers at the money line I was even more scared that Dak would pull off the victory with a game winning touchdown but the Packers were able to keep it to a field goal to tie it up again and then when Rogers was sacked I thought oh man we are going into OT but Rogers was able to find his man inside field goal range which again was so close to being out. I guess I had luck on my side today as I also won my 2 leg parlay in the EPL so it was a great day for me betting. The Steelers are looking good mate and should cover the spread for your teaser bet.

RIP Seahawks and parlay. Watching my team lose is worst than losing a bet.  Cry

Sorry you lost my friend as I also thought the Seahawks had a big shot at winning this game but the Falcons were just too good for them. I didn't bet on the game because it was tough to call. Well done Junko on the Falcons -4 and the Pats are looking good at the moment at covering your 1st leg in the teaser.

Yeah, sorry your Seahawks lost, mrdeposit. At least you made back the loss with your Houston-NE Over bet. And thanks, vella. We'll see how Pittsburgh does later tonight... Looking forward to the two games today. Both look like they are going to be good ones to watch.

Just hating to see them implode. With the first call by the refs not to allow that td in the first then that call in the fourth with bringing back that 40 yard up the middle play on them they were not only fighting against the Falcons but also the refs. That was the worst reverse calls I have ever seen in a game before.
That cost them the game and also losing Robertson.

True, I fired off a bet on the Pats game over/under, I took the over 44.5, which made up for the lost, I took on the Seahawks game. But my team is out of the playoffs. Hopefully, I can just make a profit through the rest of the playoffs and not care who wins the super bowl this year.

I agree with you on 2 bets for the NFL Divisional Playoff Round.

My picks
Seattle Seahawks ML
Dallas Cowboys ML
New England Patriots ML
Pittsburgh Steelers ML
4 team parlay with the picks above.

I believe in defense over offense so I went with Seahawks (besides the fact that im a fan).

Nice, man. Yeah, as the saying goes, "Defense wins championships." Except for the times when they don't. Tongue  Seriously though, I hear ya, dude. '85 Bears, '00 Ravens, '13 Seahawks, last year's Broncos, and (?)this years Seahawks(?). Seattle has as good a chance as anyone else in the playoffs, if not better since they certainly have more recent experience than some of the other teams still alive right now.

In any case, these four playoff games this weekend should be good, even Houston-New England.

So Good Luck on your picks and also to your Seahawks!

Yes that's true defense wins championships in almost every sport that is played. I think the Pats are a sure thing this weekend but are too short for my liking. The other games I think will be close and to be honest any of the teams can win, for the dogs I like the Packers and also the Seahawks. Good luck to everyone who has a bet on the games.

Ok, here are my plays for this weekend's NFL Divisional Playoff Round.

NitrogenSports, NFL Divisional Playoffs, picks in bold:

Pittsburgh Steelers ML (2.076) 1% bet @ Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City is the favorite (-1.5) playing at home. The Chiefs are known for their defense, but I think they are a little bit overrated, tbh. They give up the 17th most passing yards and are ranked 25th vs. the run. Even with their home field advantage, that just isn't going to cut it against the Steeler's three-headed monster: Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell.

2-Team, 6 point Teaser (ties lose), 2% bet (1.830 odds), picks in bold:
      1. Houston Texans @ New England Patriots -15 (+6)
      2. Pittsburgh Steeelrs +1.5 (+6) @ Kansas City Chiefs

The divisional round of the playoffs marks the beginning of the final leg of Tom Brady's and Coach Belichick's "F**k You" Tour against the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell. The line is currently New England -15. Houston's defense, led by Jadeveon Clowney, is top notch, but I don't see any way Houston can win in New England. The Pats beat Houston 27-0 at home earlier in the season with their 3rd string QB while Brady was out on suspension. Houston hasn't shown me anything that makes me think the result this time will be any different, not with Osweiler at QB and especially now that Brady will be playing. I'm doing this bet as a teaser (2% bet) with the Steelers just because I don't feel like sweating the full -15 pt spread.

Seattle Seahawks @ Atlanta Falcons -4 (1.966) 1% bet

I'm taking the Falcons here playing at home. They have much more weapons and a more balanced attack on offense. Even though QB Matt Ryan isn't known for winning the big games, I still think he can lead the Falcons to victory here and cover the 4 pts. Like I said, he has the weapons and also, Seattle isn't very good on the road (outside of their win over the Patriots in New England) and they'll be without Earl Thomas in the secondary. This will be a tougher match for Seattle travelling across the country than when they played Detroit at home last week.

Clemson Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide -6.5 (1.949) : Loss

Well, I lost my bet. But wow, what an amazing come from behind finish for Clemson to win the title on the last drive of the game. Deshaun Watson was clutch for the Tigers.

Monday Result : -1.00 bet unit
Thread Total : +14.19 bet units

Nice profit overall but wow that game was good. I didn't bet on it because I don't bet on college games but I had a feeling to bet on Clemson and I told myself no I don't want to throw away money. I guess I should have made that bet.  Undecided

I agree, that was some game between two of the best teams in the NCAA Football and that's what the fans want to see the 2 best teams fight it out and they sure did. I also didn't bet only because in my opinion it was a tough game to try and pick a winner and also I already put on a futures bet on Ohio State to win the Championship for this season which they fell short so I decided not to bet in this game. Sorry for the loss Junko but at least you are way in profit for the season.

Hey guys. Yeah, that game was one for the ages. Well, I said in my analysis that the game could go either way and if Clemson was going to win, it would be because of Deshaun Watson. And that happened to indeed be the case. The way he was carving up Alabama's secondary, it just seemed like scoring on that last drive was inevitable. I took Alabama based on their elite defense, but things didn't turn out. Oh well. And no need to feel sorry, Smiley  it's just one game. I try not to get too upset over losing and not too high when I win. I know there will be many, many losses for me in the future. And even if I lose more bets than I win, hopefully at the end of the day I can still be in profit  Wink. That's the great thing about sportbetting (and poker) - if you practice good bankroll management, it is still possible to end up in profit even if you lose more bets than you win.

Congrats on your hits mate and a nice little profit for the weekend. Yeah I'm now out of my Super Bowl bets but I knew they were going to be high risk and I was willing to risk it for a big reward but it didn't pan out that way. Overall I'm in profit for the season even though on my tipster topic I'm down. Just think if you took all the favorites to cover the spread you would of made a nice amount of cash but at least you still hit your teaser but yeah I know what you mean.

Thanks, bud. Yeah, it was nice results especially after NFL week 17 week's meh. I know, I know, we said we've moved on from that debacle, but it's still nice to come back. And who knows what next week will bring. Anyway, it's good to hear you are in profit for the year. That's what it's all about, the long term. Keep it up, mate!

I want to thank Junko for making this topic on the nfl because I make good profit following you picks. I miss this weeks picks because I was away and I am sad because I see you make good money again. Maybe this week I put bets on your picks.

Hey, cryptoburst61. Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it. And thanks for following. Sorry you missed this last week's picks, but I'm happy for you that you've made good profit following my picks. I should have some plays for next weekend's NFL divisional playoff action soon, like within the next day or so.

Big game tonight: College Football Playoff Championship between Clemcon Tigers and undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide.

I've previously made my pick on this game already, Alabama -6.5. Since then, the line has gone to -7, then back to -6.5 and now it's currently at -6. So it looks like the money is coming in late on Clemson.  I don't think Alabama offensive coordinator and playcaller, Lane Kiffin, suddenly leaving Alabama is as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be. It's a big deal for sure, but like I said, not as big a deal as people think. I'm still sticking with Alabama covering -6.5. Not that I have a choice, since my bet has already been booked, but my reasoning remains the same. I'll just quote what I said earlier:

NitrogenSports, Monday 9 Jan., 1% bet, pick in bold:

Clemson Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide -6.5 (1.949) (neutral site)

This is sort of a tough one because I can see ways for either team to cover/win in this rematch of last year's championship game. Clemson is hungry for this one and if anyone has a chance of knocking off undefeated Alabama, it's Clemson. If the Tigers win, it will be because of their QB Deshaun Watson. He is much improved from last year. He has the poise and strength to stand in the pocket, get hit and still deliver the ball to his targets. If they win, it will also be because their defensive line controlled the line of scrimmage and Bama's running game like they did last week against Ohio State.

The only thing is, is that Alabama is not Ohio State and is undefeated for a reason. Bama's defense is on a whole other level. If the Crimson Tide wins, it will be because of their defense eventually overwhelming the Tigers and causing Deshaun Watsun to commit turnovers. As I've said in previous posts on Alabama, they have an NFL caliber defense. Most, if not all, of those guys will be playing in the NFL soon.

Like I said, it could go either way because Clemson is super hungry and has the QB and dynamic attack that can beat Alabama, but I am taking Alabama pretty much based on their elite defense and their great head coach. Alabama always plays huge in big games and you can't get any bigger than this one in college football. The key will be shutting down Deshaun Watson and getting turnovers. I think it will be somewhat close in the first half, but Alabama eventually overwhelms in the second half to cover. Roll Tide.
