So Nicehash comes back online the same day that the last of the coins left the wallet they went into, in the meantime BTC went up to $19k, day it came back online BTC at $15.5k, were they sold at top price and bought back at lower price, in my calculations 4700 bitcoins at $3500 profit = 16.45 million dollars profit??
Just a thought??

I'm definitely not going to be mining at Nicehash until they have lowered the payout, paid what they owe people and proven that they are without issues for a reasonable time frame.

After all, you will likely make more money if you mine the coins directly and cash out to BTC. Especially since BTC is constantly fluctuating, and Nicehash takes forever to give you your BTC...  If you ever see it.. lol

So by the time you receive your BTC it might just be worth half the dollars that it was when you mined it...

Oh, and BTW... Don't be surprised if Nicehash suddenly has problems with their next payout, and it gets "delayed".  Wink Cheesy

I think they're more profitable right away but maybe not long term... like I'm mining ethereum classic and stacking the coins at around 35-40, and hoping they go up to 75-100 next year, but I don't need the money right now, I'm waiting. Maybe I'll lose. I guess you could stack bc too, but I don't use my gpus for that. For straight up income daily nicehash is usually the best. Sucks about the hack but no risk no reward I guess.

I for one will not mine on their site until I get paid what is owed to me and I'm pretty sure I am owed more than what is said they owe me on the site.

For my address, the balance owed is correct.  I looked at the balance the evening of the theft and that matches up with what the page now says is owed.  Hopefully yours is not too far off.

Since I never found a good reliable pool with a LOW payout threshold for CryptoNight (Monero) mining, my CPU miners are pointed at Nicehash.
I had the one Vega doing something else while NH was down (not cryptocoin related), it's also pointed at Nicehash.
The rest I'm keeping away for now.

I wonder what percentage of the people will go back to this after what happened.

I already did. You may say why ? Because one of my rigs with modified bios and 6 x RX 570 series is doing 4950 h/s on Monero/Cryptonight algorithm. Paying 26.5 USD daily I guess one of the highest for such configuration and Monero is my favorite algorithm because it consumes less energy.

Same cards on Winminer were doing 3600 h/s or 17 USD daily, that is 270 USD more monthly with Nicehash. I would be stupid to not go back. I think they will not be hacked anymore and store all the coins in cold storage now.

The only thing I disagree is the same min payout, I would love to see 0.005 btc as min withdraw.

anyone who thinks like this noob does, is one stupidly naïve person. they didn't change much of anything. payout amount is the same, id bet all the funds go into a hot wallet still just waiting to get hacked again. so think they will not get hacked again is a stupid thing to think

Calling me noob is something stupid, having built more than 100 boards for many friends and not friends, lately I have done a successful bios modification also of one of the most problematic card and with Hynix memory. Why am I stupid, I make 0.011 btc weekly so max I can lose is one week of mining. I made 76 USD with Winminer in one week, while I am making about 160 USD within a week with Nicehash.

It is called risk taking and not stupid thinking.

not saying it's bullet proof but I'm sure a crap ton more security is in place.  Now if they did the hack themselves well.... you're fooked!  Tongue

Anyone who mines there before they repay everything wants their heads looking at. Money or not it's about ethics and they have none at all.

I agree.  For me it runs deeper, Nicehash is in business because of the miners, not for the miners.  As a miner, we should hold them accountable.  I believe if they gain enough return miners inspite of their F'up, they will never repay the BTC.  Why would they?  The return of the miners to their organization gives the impression of a free pass...

Here is the deal, THEY WILL ANNOUNCE PAYOUT DATE ON JAN. 31st. which means they don't pay you back then but on some later date. If you are mining with them now, you are fronting the money for them to repay what they already owe you .... whole world of crypto is based on TRUST and each one of us can decide (for him/her self) how trustworthy are they after what happened.

As far as comments that other pools paid you less ... well, how much did you get payed from NH over last few weeks?

I hope that they rise up and be the best mining solution ever, but it will take time to regain the trust that they lost with many ...... just my 2c

I wouldn't trust nicehack again, come on guys we know that they are giving convenience when it comes to the profit of our mined coins.

But it just happened that their security isn't good as others and they hired a past hacker or who knows that hacker is still on his own agenda and keeps on doing nasty things.

If I were you, I'll move to another pool and will not be fooled again by them.

What is the old saying.....Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me!!

I for one, was a NH user, among others, but will not send any of my hashing power to their pool until they have paid my outstanding balance.  My opinion, they are providing a service, at a cost, and should be making it right  for their customer base before all else.  The fact they have decided to "Re-open for business" before settling their outstanding debt is concerning.

Well, none of the mining servers are accepting connections at the moment, so ethics aside you can't mine anyway...

Are you trying the nVidia miner? Legacy miner(AMD) works fine since yesterday...
