Being top coin on coinwarz is like a double sided blade. If the profit is higher then people mine it and sell it and while doing that, they eat the buy walls and push the price down.

Yes, and the current price probably isn't sustainable if that happens (i.e. if there is no significant hoarding).

5,000 x 24 x 60 = 7,200,000 NOBL a day, even at 17 satoshis, that's more than 1.2 BTC per day needed to merely sustain the price.

A block reward reduction was mentioned, is there any ongoing discussion?

Another side issue of the high reward is that NOBL amounts will easily exceed double precision capability, so any software that relies on double-precision floats will encounter rounding errors (you shouldn't, but plenty of crypto software out there relies on it, on exchanges, 3rd party sites, etc.)

The wallet uses 64 bit integers under the hood, so it's good up to 90 billion NOBL, but that'll be reached in a couple of years if I'm correct, so while there is still time, but better safe than sorry Smiley

I do not recall Bitcoin's block rewards or similar being tweaked after launch, and I don't think NOBLECoin should either.  It is a band-aid solution.  I'm going to begin purchasing Noble once again.

I am split on whether the rewards should be halved or not. I think in the short term it would raise the value of the coins and get more investors in, but in the long term it could put off new miners as the people who have been mining it from the start would hold a lot of coins (something that happened with Quark).

The thing is that currently there are more coins than the demand for them, but that will not be the case once we go mainstream. You almost want a reward doubling rather than halving, but that would hurt early adopters. I can see why there is a constant block reward.

Looks solid Smiley Would be very nice to see NobleCoin being given out there!

Also if anybody is up to start a Noble referral chain, please use my link (I used avw1982's link).

Nice!
By curiosity, did the TXID for the genesis block I gave you work for ABE or was it something else entirely?

I got the impression it was the TXID fix on top of this change, however he may have skipped it entirely I'm not sure. The guys who hooked up the EAC ABE gave a tip or two also I think (they also use the tx messages). I'll ask for you!

We've now got two new block explorers working for NOBL so we can sort out the business with coinmarketcap.

1. http://chainz.cryptoid.info/nobl/ - Many thanks to Fairglu from CryptoID for including NobleCoin in their block explorer beta. He is developing a very interesting and potentially powerful service for cryptocurrencies.

2. An ABE explorer for NobleCoin here: http://abe.noblemovement.com/ - Many thanks to Crypto West for stepping in and delivering here also.

In regards to the reward reduction we were thinking at 6 or 12 months, however we weren't expecting so much negative news to hit the crypto. scene suddenly and swing it around into a bear market so aggressively - we may end up doing it sooner. While we want to reward and appreciate the early adopters, we didn't want to be another one of those coins that forks/restricts supply early to disenfranchise newcomers to crypto. & NOBL in the months to come.

In regards to coinok.pw I will be touching base with them again next week. They are already happy to take us, have just spent the NOBL/BTC this week on catching up marketplace orders (shamefully slow at this point but we're almost there) and sorting out the dramas with our explorers being cut.

Cheers!

Hi all,

Is there any place where I can invest my NOBL? Like just-dice investing for BTC and DOGE.

Thanks,

https://www.noblemovement.com/games/ - I believe 2 of those listed there allow you to invest for winnings. Smiley

Thanks, I just invested a couple on the horse game. Can't see where to invest on the dice sites though.
That sounds to me like gambling, not investing. :p

Rofo speaking of games would you consider contacting coinbomb.biz to see if they would add noble or what's required to get on?

Its one of the main reasons I always have a stock of lottocoin lying around lol and would definitely been keen to play with some noble. They used to have 4 coins but grand (I also held on to some for that) and infinite coin got the chop not so long ago so they may be open to adding another now. I would contact them myself but figure its probably best coming from the dev team Wink I'd be happy to pitch in if there's a setup fee too.

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
Also, for anyone who hasn't put their two cents in on the VoS forum post, please do so now the more support the better. Being listed on Vault of Satoshi would be an honor and move us even closer to our goal of being at the forefront of all altcoin currencies.

Thanks in advance,

miK

I'lll try to get to that today. Got hurt the other day and on lots of meds right now so don't want to say the wrong thing. Wink

That's not good, hope you aren't badly hurt...

Nothing major just being a retard forgetting how old I am. Wink

Well I decided to jump on the boat with Noblecoins and bought myself some coins on AGX, I wish and hope a great succes for this noble coin

Welcome.

Yeah I was mining other coins and exchanging them to BTC for buy support but this difficulty on NOBL is making it so hard not to mine  Shocked

I hear yah! I swapped one back yesterday when the dif went below 4.

Hashrate fairly stable now for a few days and still high up on coinwarz even though they use Poloniex as the price, rather than agx which is always a bit higher.

Most profitable coin to mine right now, really shocked difficulty is still so low - why other miners are not mining this I have no idea. Happy to keep mining this and support the network.
Being top coin on coinwarz is like a double sided blade. If the profit is higher then people mine it and sell it and while doing that, they eat the buy walls and push the price down. It's good to be listed on coinwarz but I think people just look at how many $ they can make per day and point their miners to most profitable.

I'm mining other coins like Doge and Reddcoin and sell them to get BTC which I use to build some kind of buy support for NOBL. That way I kind of inflate the other coins a bit Grin and do something good for Noble.

I like to see about 5 of the shit coins above us to keep the dumpers at bay. Smiley

Me and my buddy's GhettoCoinMiner7,5k making some buy support for NOBL @ agx.io... Grin Looking good so far, making about 0.05 worth of BTC @ day which is going directly for buy support.

Looks good to me! Smiley
