we really need people to spread the hashrates around.... valid error should keep pool fees higher to encourage decentralization for now.
Yep, same problem we've been having this whole time. If the bigger miners would just solo mine, or split up... We wouldn't have this problem. Maybe the pool owners should start taxing the higher hashrates! =o
i wonder if there is a way to limit hashing power, capping it at a certain hashrate would even out the pools a little. i kind of understand the idea of taxing, but how would that effect it once the 56mhs rigs come online. i don't know if capping is the right thing to do or if it can be done fairly, or even if it should be done. but as far a taxing... what should be done with the proceeds? handed out in giveaways, disseminated throughout the community? in the words of Bruce Wayne " there's just too many questions". i think capping would be easier, but that brings about its own list of possible consequences. including keeping people away with higher hashing power. on the other hand it could also act as a magnet for others. which could grow the currency too fast.
me and my 220 khs have been on valid error since day one. a couple of times when the hashrate got too high, i just turned off my miner and gave my gpu a much needed rest. and yes i look up at all the other hashrates and sigh when i compare mine to theirs. but i'm waiting for taxes to come in and then i might be able to get up to the mid 700's. i also realize that there are many that have lower hashrates than i. and the thought of going up against the 15, 22, 35, 56 MHS rigs scares the living daylights out of me. i've been hashing since day one ( minus a few breaks) and to be honest i have received almost as much in giveaways and a random donation ( that i still don't understand) as i have mining.
i know i'm kinda rambling here but if you think it is bad now... just wait till the big boys find out what is going on over here.
i agree that something should be done, as to what that may be... i haven't got a clue. and to be honest i'm not sure anyone has ever really put that much thought into it.
if anyone has any ideas, we could discuss it within the community, but keep in mind it is up to the developers to implement, not any of us, all we can do is suggest and wait for their reply, also, what ever is done will have a direct effect, and quite possibly the cessation of private giveaways like the one rubberducky is in the middle of right now.
