Keeping records of your wins and losses will only bring depression to you especially the ones you lost, I won't advise you to start keeping records of your gambling history. Is best you gamble and forget everything about it or better still be thinking about the winning you had in the past to make you feel less depressed but outside from that, is a no no to keep records of your loss and win.
I actually agree with that. I believe that a person tends to become sad only when they remember something tragic that happened in their life, but if they don't remember it and there is nothing around them that reminds them of that, they won't get sad. The same thing applies to gambling, if you keep a record only to see how much money you have lost at the end of the year, you will surely feel very bad since the amount will obviously be significant.

A person who might have lost a large amount of money within a specific period of time will surely feel very bad about that once they check the records. After checking the records, all of a sudden, they will start thinking about the things they could do with that money if they hadn't lost it in gambling.

As I said today gamblers keep records for a variety of reasons, so expect it to provoke everyone to unreasonable actions such as trying to win back past losses is not quite right. Many gamblers play gambling for fun and records are kept only for personal statistics. All of us are completely different and each of us has completely different views on this or that action.

Yeah, it can definitely remove the fun part if you are constantly logging every single interaction you had with the casino.

Being a bit reckless also is more fun than acting like an accountant  Grin

At the end of the day you should have a rough idea of how much you are losing in casinos. If it is too much, you should have a look at it. That's all.

There is no need to keep record on how much you are spending on gambling, all you need to know is how much you are willing to risk on gambling every day, two-two days or every week, whatever is convenient for you, going back to your record will have impact on your gambling activities, this can easily push you away from gambling as your mind will start calculating how much you have risk so far, so it's not needed.

If you are using a dollar to gamble and you are making hundreds of dollars why the Need to keep record when the money isn't even close to a two figures? Do you know that keeping record can also make you chase losses? It's one way or the other, it can make you hate gambling and decide to quit or it can make your mind start wanting your money back, that's if you are risking high amount of money every day that you gamble.

It depends on what type of a gambler you are but it's better not to keep any records at all, it's not going to help you in anyway, keeping record doesn't make you a better gambler, always risk only what you can afford to lose, this is what can make you a better gambler.

I will honestly never get tired of saying that self-control and some limits are the first things that every gambler must have, and if they ignore this then don't be surprised when defeat always dominates you, as you said the more definite impact is that they will quickly enter the stage of addiction, In the event that you've got a lot of time on your hands, you're going to want to make sure that you've got a good idea of what you're going to be doing. Checking the amount of defeat that turns out to be greater than the victory, it is also very likely to make them upset so that they continue to gamble to restore the amount of defeat, even though it is not recommended because obviously they will waste time and money and what happens is that the amount of defeat is even greater.

Checking gambling records in my opinion can make people aware and better and also vice versa, as discussed above it can also make them even more upset because it turns out that the amount of loss is greater, and I think for the problem of awareness it depends on each individual in reacting to it. I think privacy will only make it more difficult for them to get out of the zone, because how can people help them if they don't tell their problems.
I would also say the same thing as you because after all, self-control plays a role in preventing us from experiencing a lot of losses so that we will not sink deeper into gambling. We have to overcome and avoid problems that will arise and this has been experienced by many people who often gamble. If we don't want to experience the same thing as them, we really have to learn better control so that it can protect us while we gamble and after we finish gambling, we won't experience a lot of losses or want to recover from those losses. If we lose, there will be a feeling of wanting to recover from that loss, but if we have good self-control, we will not try to recover because it will be difficult for us. We will lose more and more and that means we will lose more and more money.

As long as the person is aware and willing to admit that he has used a lot of money just for gambling and is willing to reduce his use of money, he can really reduce his gambling activities so as not to experience more and more losses. But it all depends on each person's wishes because we can suggest something like that but if the person doesn't want to do it and thinks that he is still okay when looking at the gambling records, that's up to them. The important thing is that we should always limit ourselves and if we think having a gambling record is good for us, we can create one. But if not, we don't need to create it.

I don't see anything wrong with keeping records of gambling losses/winnings, but I myself stopped doing it a long time ago as I realized that this activity has minimal value for me. I am sure that for someone who is used to count everything such records provide useful information, but unfortunately I have not been able to get any valuable experience for myself. I am actually quite content with introducing a budget limit for gambling into my gambling experience.

Keeping a record does not do anything good for a gambler. It only makes you stressed if you can check your average loss. Also, it's unnecessary, if you're the type of gambler, online casinos have the stats of every player showing the W/L ratio.
Usually gamblers do this kind of thing very little. Gambling goes back and forth between wins and losses. Many gamblers will become frustrated and stressed as they attempt to recapture past records. It is good to consider the pros and cons of the casino when playing in a casino. Many casinos have a record of scams. Gamblers spend a lot of money on betting and it is difficult for a gambler to balance them. Records are generally the backbone of any organization good for any external activities of the company and essential for making sound management decisions. Without reliable and secure access to critical documents, many businesses risk making poor decisions that result in losses, corruption and mismanagement.

And also none other than their desire to continue gambling is based on curiosity and greed for the winnings that are difficult for them to get or want to increase the amount of winnings that they have clearly gotten, but like those who are addicted they will never be enough with what they have gotten and always want more than that. In my opinion, it is quite natural why most of those who are addicted are from the lower middle class or in the sense that their finances are not good, it is none other than their goal to come to gambling because they want to increase their finances by making some wins that are clearly very difficult to get, instead of getting a win but the opposite happens, they actually suffer a lot of losses and after that they are even crazier to chase the win because they don't accept the defeat at the previous time. For the problem of impact, don't ask anymore, as you said the pressure they will definitely feel and also even to depression and the worst impact maybe they will be stressed and also maybe they could commit suicide because they are not strong with such conditions, I don't rarely find cases like that. If the level of addiction is very severe then yes they need help from others, because it is impossible with conditions like that they realize by themselves, I hope anyone who is now still gambling please stay firm on self-control.
Yes, it is normal for people to become addicted to gambling because they cannot control themselves while gambling and have no other activities especially when they look at their gambling records, they find that the number of losses is still greater than the number of wins. It will indirectly be recorded in his subconscious memory and tell him that he must be able to recover his losses one day and that can make him continue gambling without stopping. If that happens, he may not be able to recover his previous losses but it will only increase his losses even more because of his lack of self-control in gambling. But if there is a person who does not have a record of his gambling, that does not necessarily make that person a bad gambler because he could just use gambling as a way to have fun in addition to using other activities. So if we don't have a gambling record, we have a reason but we don't tell other people because it's private.

On the contrary,  keeping records can actually help in handling gambling addictions. If you keep note of what you have invested and what you have won, that will help you in decision making.
We cannot shy away from acknowledging that losses is part of the gambling. Taking not of thus losses is actually part of the business of gambling. It has been discussed in several threads here that money management is a good habit for successful gambling. How do you ensure proper money management without taking note of the losses.

I'm of the opinion that proper record keeping is very important as it helps in many ways. Gambling is business so taking stock is very important in business.

I don't know.

I think it's a tricky situation, because if you really sit down and keep track of everything you have put in, and everything you have won, eventually you will realize that gambling is not making you any money, so you will probably stop.

But you probably knew that before gambling. The odds are against you, so if you gamble you will lose money, most probably.

Still many people around the world gamble, even knowing this. So, there is clearly another component to consider.

Maybe it is the hope to win?, maybe it is the thrill of the sounds and lights?, maybe it is being around other people?, who knows, but it is clearly not only a mathematical thing, because otherwise no one would gamble.

I concur, if keeping track of your wins and losses awakes on you all kind of negative feelings then it is obvious there is some sort of problem with the way you gamble, in my case I can take a look at my records and I do not feel a thing about it and I am sure this is true as well for all of those gamblers that just gamble for the excitement they can get out of it, so while not keeping records will not necessarily make someone a bad gambler, as long as they do not want to become professional gamblers, it can make way more difficult to spot a problematic behavior early.

The point is that self-awareness is very important in problems like this, because addiction is not a physical disease but a disease that exists in the human subconscious where their mindset has been disturbed in terms of expectations in gambling. If they are already aware then it is clear that they will not do the same thing or repeat their mistakes again, with that then I think the reduction session in the form of time and budget they can definitely do, that's because their mindset has slowly begun to recover by considering gambling as it should be and not caring too much about expectations. Preferring to allocate their money to other important things in life is better and I think they will do this if they really realize. True, as you said the number of losses will usually be higher than the number of wins, that's for sure in my opinion and therefore for those who are still not too far in gambling I hope they will keep their mindset so as not to overdo it, don't put too much hope there because obviously this is just profit - profit only and in addition there is no guarantee whatsoever to win.
Gambling addiction is a constant desire in one's mind to be able to gamble more often. Still, the problem is that many of those who are addicted to gambling don't have a lot of money so when they lose, they have to wait until they can have money to continue gambling. During that waiting time, they can experience various kinds of problems such as discomfort, frustration, and others because they can't wait to be able to continue gambling. People who are addicted to gambling really need help and whether they realize it or not, the people around them must start to realize the fact that they need to help people who are addicted to gambling. And before someone becomes addicted to gambling, he should be aware that playing gambling has many risks and the worst thing is experiencing a gambling addiction so he needs to have or learn good self-control so that he is not affected by gambling.

And also none other than their desire to continue gambling is based on curiosity and greed for the winnings that are difficult for them to get or want to increase the amount of winnings that they have clearly gotten, but like those who are addicted they will never be enough with what they have gotten and always want more than that. Well yes that's right, we must be able to realize and also with a little self-introspection when we have experienced a large enough defeat that you absolutely cannot accept, with that we should be able to think that even though you bring a large budget but it still can't change anything. It's really just about luck, and you've proven that any way doesn't work, one of which is bringing a large enough budget. I hope that you or anyone who is still gambling now can learn from the experiences I've had above. It only makes things worse. So there is nothing better unless you stop, it's okay, you can start slowly to get a little better and hopefully you can continue to do it consistently.
Experiencing a fairly large loss should make us aware and have the desire to do self-introspection so that we can find out that we have started to cross the line and really need to reduce our gambling habits. And if we are back on track, we have to really remember this so that we don't get off track so that we don't experience any problems and can enjoy gambling comfortably and can also treat gambling as it should be. And if we can always carry ourselves while playing gambling well, we will not exceed the limits we have set so we will not have negative experiences.

And indeed this is a positive side or as a good reciprocity why they should keep a record of all the money they have allocated to gambling, do not always remember the victory but try to be patient by seeing how much they have lost. After all, this is also for their own good, and if they really love themselves then obviously I think there is no other reason for them not to reduce their gambling.

Yes, it is true that all of this we do is for our own good, basically it is better to prevent than to cure, because of course being in a gambling addiction is very unpleasant and I have felt that every time I experienced a lot of pressure in terms of finance. Money that was supposed to be used for living needs instead I used to gamble in the hope that there would be a much bigger return and in the end it turned out that all the money was gone, honestly I was almost depressed and didn't know where to look for help. So the point is it doesn't matter if they can't leave gambling because I understand to stop completely it's almost impossible at one time, well one way is to reduce your gambling activities and also reduce the amount of your budget, don't be too curious about winning because even though your budget is small if you are lucky then you will also win even with a small amount, but it's better than you losing 100% of the money you have. So just allocate at least 5% of the money you have if it's just for fun, it's better.
By seeing how much they lose, they can learn that they have used too much money and if they can reduce the amount of money, they can use the money for other things that might be more useful. And when compared, there is a possibility that the number of wins will be smaller than the number of losses because we will rarely get big wins. We lose more often and if there is no self-control, the number of losses will increase and even exceed our expectations.

The point is that self-awareness is very important in problems like this, because addiction is not a physical disease but a disease that exists in the human subconscious where their mindset has been disturbed in terms of expectations in gambling. That is why we have to allocate a certain amount to play gambling and there is no need to allocate a larger amount just because we lose. It is precisely by experiencing defeat that we must be able to introspect ourselves that what we are doing is starting to become excessive. We must be able to reduce it, either slowly or immediately reducing the allocation of funds for gambling. In that way, we can hope that we can reduce our gambling and we also do not take the risk of losing too much money because we already have the experience of losing big money so we try to prevent it from happening. We can only continue to try to control the use of funds for gambling so that we can gamble responsibly.

Keeping a record does not do anything good for a gambler. It only makes you stressed if you can check your average loss. Also, it's unnecessary, if you're the type of gambler, online casinos have the stats of every player showing the W/L ratio.

Even if a specific casino has all your history, whenever you go to another one, or a real life casino you won't have the complete picture.

And you might end up thinking that you are better than where you really are.

It's a good thing to keep track of your spending, but of course casinos end up better when gamblers don't do this.

Good day crypto Famz, I will like to ask gamblers this question, is there any gamblers on here that keeps record of their wins and losses? Do you keep a record of all the pennies you use to gamble and also the result?
Keeping records of all the winning and losses will be very difficult because is something that has to do with years and there is a likelihood that you could even lost count along the line but however if most people were able to have all the records of there losses it could make them not to gamble again because calculating all the money they lose it could be up to millions and they will start imagining what they would have achieved if they had saved the money instead.

So for me I don't think there is need for me to have all the records of my past wining and losses because it could affect me emotionally seeing all the money I wasted on gambling so the best way for me is just to focus on the present and leave the past.

Well, as I have always said, things are about recording past games, and even more so if you lost it is not a good thing, because basically you will start with a negative record, and it is automatic that as a player you will see that and want to put it in Green , then when this type of things happens it is not good, because the people who are more focused on seeing and doing a good activity can make themselves evident so that they can have a better performance for everything, so in this order of ideas it is You can say that for everything you need to have and start with a good attitude and one of those is to start from scratch, forgetting all Failure and obtaining the best results, that is how to say, I start today, and it is as if it were my First time, just like that You could keep a good record but because you already have experience, you already know what the Games are like and basically things can happen according to how you can have the option to improve and for that it is good to have an excel sheet where you can Carry out Everything in the respective order.

And the data that can be carried out in that record Depends on how big you want it, with more specifications or with more things to do, so in this order of ideas we must always think that every time we play, like the basic rules, have a balance willing to lose, the other thing is that you have an order when playing, that you seek to win, and if the money that you were Willing to lose was lost, you should not miss it and make another deposit, because that is not how it works , then you can It can be said that when it comes to doing more things , they can become evident, money is something that we must take great care of, some say that they bet little, and 1 dollar is not painful, well it should hurt because from dollar to dollar a number is reached very large amount of money and that is what we have to see, there is no other way, in this order of things we can observe that money must all be given its Value , that is why it is good to make these Records.

Keeping those records for me is not necessary and I do think it may cause more harm than good, you will barely have more winnings than losses looking back at how much you have put into it,  so makes no sense looking back at records as it may provoke you into start gambling in such a way to recover or with the hope of recovering those losses. Therefore,  I'm cool with not going back into the past to avoid causing or triggering some form of anxiety betting that may affect the outcome of my current or future gambling style.
