One danger of keeping records would be chasing losses, when you consistently keep track record of your deposits and losses on the casino sites, you would want to build up a strategy for recovery and this may make impatient and uncalculated gambling set it which is actually an irresponsible way of gambling, this can even lead to more losses on the gamblers side at the end of the day.

It's important to jus make a budget of how much you are willing to spend on gambling monthly so it helps you reduce how much you spend on gambling such that even if you lose, you know it's on your budget ad you may most likely not get really emotional about it as it can be bearable going by your budgeting, but whenever you start keeping record of your losses what follows next is the need to want to recover and the drive to gamble more so you can recover, this can sometimes get out of control and you creep into addiction unknowingly to you.

I mostly play on one platform at a time, so I do not keep track of deposits, withdrawals, wins, losses, etc. The casino website itself keep these records for me.
If I want to check the amount I deposited, I simply check the transaction history provided by the casino.
Notable wins, like those with a 10x, 50x or 100x multiplier, are usually automatically recorded in memory, so I don't find it necessary to keep a separate spreadsheet or physical record .

But it's important to keep track of my deposits because it helps me make informed decisions about how much money I should allocate to gambling.

If you want to quit gambling slowly just start keeping records, do you know why all the gambling responsible strategies works?/its because we don't keep records, apart from using what you can afford to lose every time you gamble, the day you do back and check your record is when you will start quitting slowly.

Even if you are using a $10 for gambling, you will still not feel good after looking into your record, you will always remember that gambling is not for you lol, your losses might be bigger than your wins, this is the harsh truth for all gamblers.

It's part of the rules to never chase your losses, isn't it? Keeping record could make you want to, it can turn to the reason for you to start chasing your losses if you are not strong, this is why I don't think that keeping records is good. Every penny we spend on gambling is still money, if that is invested into Bitcoin it will turn to something someday.
This is basically why no one should keep their record when gambling as most of us know that losing are much common than winning as it can tends to chasing loses than just gambling. We just needs to remember that each gambling session is different from previous sessions to avoid chasing loses. But still, it varies to every gamblers especially those who are already addicted to gambling to make them realize how much they've lost and how much it already affected their financial standing.

But yeah, keeping you gambling record will provide a result either stopping or getting more addicted to gambling.

Good day crypto Famz, I will like to ask gamblers this question, is there any gamblers on here that keeps record of their wins and losses? Do you keep a record of all the pennies you use to gamble and also the result?

Someone whom we both have this discuss yesterday said this is a good practice, I still don't see a reason why because I don't keep record of my losses, I tend to only remember when I win a certain amount, if its good enough you won't easily forget, but apart from this I don't care.

So Famz, is there any benefits when one keeps record on their losses and wins? Is there any thing to gain when you write down all the money you spent in gambling and also how much you have made so far?

Not keeping records, does this make me a bad gambler?

Maybe not for you, but for some people it is useful. There are various reasons and scenarios for us to gamble at online casinos, whether it's methods, tricks, variables and all kinds of things. everything is functioned or used, it can also be intended, according to the concepts and ideas they think or plan. It doesn't matter if you don't record your gambling statistics, whether it's wins or losses. as long as no one objects to it, and you are happy with the gambling you do even without taking notes. Please, there's no problem with all that.
Likewise with me, I have never even thought about calculating percentages through statistics or notes that we make from the gambling we do. everything I do is solely for the sake of entertainment. nothing more, although sometimes there is drama that occurs when we have a gambling session. for example, when we lose control and bet too much, or, we get too into playing so that the winnings that were initially accumulated, ultimately end in defeat. There are many colors in everyone's gambling, including you, me, and all of us.

Referring to this thread's question, I'll quote it, "is there any benefit when one keeps a record on their losses and wins". maybe not for you, and neither does it for me. but for people who use this method, they definitely find it useful. that's why, some gamblers do it. the reasons, will be very diverse and varied, not necessarily the same for every gambler. and for sure, there is nothing wrong with what they do. In short, from several comments I read regarding people who record their gambling, whether they win or lose. the simple reason is, so they know how much they have spent, and how much they have earned. with the final scenario, they limit the budget if their limit has reached the limit.
ideally, this idea is good and I like it. unfortunately, I can't do it. might be the simple answer, because I never do that. and one more thing, it won't make you bad even if you don't do it. Most importantly, you also have certain limits in the gambling you do.

but it is true that by saving recordings from your gambling can show how the performance of your gambling and how much money you have spent and there is no harm in also recording your gambling activities.
During that time he has plenty of time to record his gambling history, there are no problems, let alone recording his expenses, but keep in mind that as long as he can control his emotions and control himself in gambling, it won't be a problem, sometimes there are people who record all the history and finances he has spent. during gambling so that it becomes his obsession to chase losses and that is not justified.

I don't think anyone who experiences defeat needs to record it if they still don't control themselves because it will interfere with their concentration when gambling, let alone make them depressed because the large amount of money lost during gambling in the record is clearly not very good for the mental and mind, that's why most people don't need to. not because it is not important, but they gamble and enjoy it, not to chase their losses.

It does not, keeping records is good but it can be used to measure you are bad or good gamblers. You will be still be a bad gambler even if you keep a record or take a note but you cant manage your money wisely. On the opposite side, you are a good gambler if you can control your gambling activity wisely although you do not keep a record of the money you spent in gambling.

Having records on gambling helps in maintaining our expenses and understand whether we're on profit/loss. Based on which we can consider taking a break or continue to gamble. Personally I used to have some mind calculation on my spending, but this won't be effective most of the time and we end up spending much. When we maintain records, this can be made effective and spending beyond the allocated limit can be avoided. Gambling is all about the choice, and we're moving forward with the hope of winning. This winning hope won't be successful for everyone, when we see the records we can understand better whether to be hopeful or rely on luck and limit our spending.

It looks like you have good management in gambling. I never thought about recording my gambling activities. I only pay attention to my financial condition. If I had more money then I would gamble, if not then there is no reason to gamble

Do you have financial records from two different gambling sites? I'm curious if there are any significant differences between one site and another. So I want to try to record gambling activity and find out which sites provide better winnings than other sites

Keeping past history of wins or losses are virtually not much worthy  when it comes to gambling. But when a gambler keeps a statistics of his wins and losses, he will certainly get a better idea of the results of his gambling. This concept will enable the gambler to control himself. He will also be able to get information about where he went wrong. A good idea of his bankroll will also be gained so that a gambler can come back from uncontrolled gambling. Although some people think that all gambling sites have a history, I would say that it works better if it is saved manually.

Take it from me wholeheartedly man this is no good practice in any rational ways, you just ne piling up your trouble and miseries when hard times hit you. When I say hard times I mean moment we are lacking on cash and we start reflecting on those records on how much we have wasted to gambling and stupid you were just so willing to have spend so much amount put together on gambling with nothing good to show off.
Those records can only bring regrets and that's the damn truth about that. Like what's the point of keeping records for money I won't be given back at the end? You might wanna argue that it helps you in keeping track of your performance but that's not true, you don't control your chances of winning in gambling so what are you keeping track for about something out of your control when you can't change the outcome yourself? It's of no essence.

Those who can record their gambling expenses, I think they will be able to control themselves when gambling, of course this will allow them to know when they can continue their game and when they have to stop, but this is very difficult to do, most of those who gamble will continue playing if they still have money in their hands.
They should be able to control themselves more when gambling. However, it depends on how they exercise self-control while gambling because some people still lose self-control even though they already have a gambling record. This tempts them because gambling can make them come back more often and maybe later, they will usually not record their gambling expenses and income. And it will only make them a gambling addict if they cannot stay within their limits. But whatever it is, if they are willing to record their income and expenses in gambling, it can help them to track how much they spend on gambling.

Keeping records of your gambling history is not that bad if you prefer that way but some really don't care about records. I personally didn't care about it as well. Unless curiousity strikes me and did something like a trial and error or an experiment in a specific game like the lottery. If you are just having fun with gambling as your past time I don't think there is a need to keep some of your records.

I totally agree! Keeping records in gambling is a personal choice. I'm more of a go-with-the-flow person myself.  For me it's all about having a good time, not worrying about taking notes or whatever and  if you get curious and want to try tracking stuff just as an experiment, cool.  But at the end of the day, gambling is our hobby and I just wanna enjoy it without making it into a chore with a bunch of record-keeping.

i also did not record my gambling transactions, did it make me a bad gambler? in my opinion not really, because the good and bad of a gambler is not judged by whether he records his gambling transactions or not but rather to his behavior, emotions, and the way he is to manage money. as long as a gambler has these things, i think he has become a good gambler who is able to manage his money and psychology.

Why do we need to keep our records when we all know that the gambling market changes from time to time. What happens today will be a lot different tomorrow so keeping some records will not be essential at all. Gambling is luck based, and you can’t predict when you will be lucky in gambling, so keeping your records about your losses and gains will not be helpful and won’t change the situation. If you want to minimize your losses, manage your gambling habit and always bet on the amount you can afford to lose.

I disagree with this; I do gambling and also keep records of wins and losses. Why? To monitor my money, whether I earn or lose more money, for example, if I allocate a certain amount of money as my capital, I have a spreadsheet where I place where I place a bet or play, how much I spend, and then record if it has been gained or not. From there, I can keep track of where my money goes. Documenting your expenses is a good idea because it could give you a reminder of where and what you've been spending, where you play, etc. Yes, gambling is a lot more about luck, but keeping records of your activity in gambling doesn't do anything with what you're saying; it is completely different. And keeping a record is not bad; it only shows that you are responsible for your money, so keep on doing what you're doing.

In that matter, it's your choice too; if it helps you, go ahead and do it, and nothing will stop you. Maybe you do that because you are a regular gambler; you can be at the casino every day to play gambling online, or three times a week.

Because if people like me only gamble twice a month, I don't need to do that. So I don't think that gambling is my source of income; it's just for fun and entertainment. But unfairness aside, I just saw such a gambler, and I don't see anything bad or wrong in that either.

I don't keep records as well because it doesn't make sense for me. Whatever is spent on gambling for me, should be forgotten forever. We're not bad gamblers, and that doesn't mean we're not responsible as well.
Keeping records could make me think if I were a bad person. I will see how much money I've spent for gambling, after few years I realize if such money could be used to buy motorcycle, car etc. While not keeping records will make me think it's okay to lose $100/month because I've make more than that.
The thing that makes it even more painful is when gambling using bitcoin or other crypto which currently has a high price, if we flashback to a few years ago where the price of bitcoin and other crypto such as Doge was cheap when looking at the current price it might make your chest hurt. I felt suffocated from looking at those notes, and besides, it wasn't a good idea to write them down.

Even if you gamble using fiat money, you may still need to record it because this can cause regret, which in the end makes us continue to gamble until we try to make the money we lose from losing return quickly in full. so that in the end it makes us become addicted without realizing it and go beyond the limits of gambling too deeply. Just face the reality, after all gambling, we have to understand that gambling has a risk of losing, so the money you have lost doesn't need to be recorded, forget it and enjoy the game.  Grin

Each gambler has his way of monitoring the use of his money. Maybe some gamblers don't record their winnings and losses in gambling because they think this is just gambling for fun so they don't need to record their gambling activities. After all, they have their limits in gambling and will not violate them for any reason. But if you feel that having a record would be good for you so you can monitor your financial position, especially your budget for gambling, you can continue with it to know how much money you use for gambling. So having a record depends on each gambler.
