Keeping records of your wins and losses will only bring depression to you especially the ones you lost, I won't advise you to start keeping records of your gambling history. Is best you gamble and forget everything about it or better still be thinking about the winning you had in the past to make you feel less depressed but outside from that, is a no no to keep records of your loss and win.

It is only a professional gambler who has taken on gambling as a career that would keep records. For me I think the reason why such a person would keep record is one to keep track of their profits and losses, for tax purposes, and maybe any other reason. Regular gamblers like you and I do not keep any record because we see no importance in doing so. But we will not fail to recall our losses and wins if there is ever a need for that during a conversation.
Even professional gamblers I think majority are still not keeping records about their wins and losses. For what? Losses will always be money lost and we can't do nothing about it since gambling itself cannot assure us that we will be given chances to win consistently. If they do that, it's like they are putting their business into bankruptcy later on. Maybe for beginner gamblers they will try to monitor their wins and losses through recording it, but eventually when they realize that gambling is all about losses than winnings, then they will ignore recording it anyway.

For me, keeping some records of my previous losses would only push me to realize how far I have gone with gambling that I was able to lose a lot. It could only make me regret of my past decisions and losses.

Although this alternative is quite good but everything will return to their respective awareness, because it is useless if they take notes but do not find any awareness to get better. Management is one of the most important things in any field or profession or even in our real life, we must be able to make everything run in balance using this management. Well it is true that there are also those who do not record like this at all, as you said it is because they still feel that their gambling is still manageable or maybe they feel that they have not lost too much money, it is also quite good as long as what they say is not just a feeling but in accordance with reality.
It is true that you said that awareness is really needed in this case so that they can start reducing their gambling if they have spent too much gambling. This is done so that they can avoid the biggest problem that gamblers will experience, namely gambling addiction, especially if they do not impose restrictions while gambling. It will only make them addicted to gambling in a short time and when that happens, they will not even realize it because they are too engrossed in gambling. If everything goes in balance, they will not experience any problems. They can instead enjoy gambling as entertainment that uses money, but the use of money will not be as big as other people's because they always try to limit their gambling games.

And indeed this is a positive side or as a good reciprocity why they should keep a record of all the money they have allocated to gambling, do not always remember the victory but try to be patient by seeing how much they have lost. After all, this is also for their own good, and if they really love themselves then obviously I think there is no other reason for them not to reduce their gambling.

Yes, it is true that all of this we do is for our own good, basically it is better to prevent than to cure, because of course being in a gambling addiction is very unpleasant and I have felt that every time I experienced a lot of pressure in terms of finance. Money that was supposed to be used for living needs instead I used to gamble in the hope that there would be a much bigger return and in the end it turned out that all the money was gone, honestly I was almost depressed and didn't know where to look for help. So the point is it doesn't matter if they can't leave gambling because I understand to stop completely it's almost impossible at one time, well one way is to reduce your gambling activities and also reduce the amount of your budget, don't be too curious about winning because even though your budget is small if you are lucky then you will also win even with a small amount, but it's better than you losing 100% of the money you have. So just allocate at least 5% of the money you have if it's just for fun, it's better.

Well more precisely like that maybe, we just find a middle ground and as you said whether or not they are emotional in this case really depends on how each person's point of view is, as we discussed above there are those who are emotional when they see the calculation records due to the number of dominating defeats that make them finally more ambitious in gambling with the intention of revenge and there are also those who think with common sense that this is gambling which as I said before it is only about whether or not someone is lucky in their gambling journey, so both of these things can really happen to two human characters. What I have in mind is that maybe by calculating all the amounts they spend it is possible to make them realize and finally reduce their gambling. Especially if their finances are not good or in the sense that their income is only enough to support their lives, it is very possible to be able to think healthily and reduce all gambling activities.
Yes, this can also be done so that they just calculate all the amounts they spend or maybe they only need to calculate the deposit amount so that they can be more strict about the deposit amount for gambling and don't care how much money they use. But with a note, they have to gamble with small bets and not spend a lot of money. If they want, they can limit the use of the money they deposit into their gambling accounts and not gamble with large bets or greatly limit the amount of bets. If they can do this and stay within the limits, they can see a reduction in the amount of money they spend on gambling while still having some other money.

Although this alternative is quite good but everything will return to their respective awareness, because it is useless if they take notes but do not find any awareness to get better. Management is one of the most important things in any field or profession or even in our real life, we must be able to make everything run in balance using this management. If that's what you want of not keeping records, you're not a bad gambler. What makes a bad gambler is being reckless and senseless. That's when to the point that you won't care anymore to your family and all you do is gamble all day long. You may be a full time gambler but don't disregard the obligations that you have and everything that you are routine to do.

Remember that we're not perfect but as a gambler, there's already the bad descriptions that were given to us based on what people have seen from the other gamblers for being reckless. If you are going to be like them, you're also giving that point of view to them and proves them right. So, recording isn't a big deal but if you and your wife argues with that, that's a different story brother and you need to submit yourself to her and start recording to give that proof that you're just a gambler and not more than that.

I think it's extremely important to keep track, even if you're not a professional player. In order to know whether you made more money or lost. And if you have lost more and this number is growing, then this is an extremely important signal to stop with it!  Have a look at this, and consider tracking your gambling expenses.. This is relevant for those who play regularly. After all, there are more chances to become addicted to gambling.
Well, in general, it is a very good habit to write down your expenses. Such people usually have no problem living 'paycheck to paycheck.

Good day crypto Famz, I will like to ask gamblers this question, is there any gamblers on here that keeps record of their wins and losses? Do you keep a record of all the pennies you use to gamble and also the result?

Someone whom we both have this discuss yesterday said this is a good practice, I still don't see a reason why because I don't keep record of my losses, I tend to only remember when I win a certain amount, if its good enough you won't easily forget, but apart from this I don't care.

So Famz, is there any benefits when one keeps record on their losses and wins? Is there any thing to gain when you write down all the money you spent in gambling and also how much you have made so far?

Not keeping records, does this make me a bad gambler?
OP you raised some good questions here. Most of us who are involved in gambling platforms and those who bet on gambling platforms do not keep track of the winnings and losses of bets on these gambling platforms. But it is better for each person to keep track of the winnings and losses of this bet because keeping track of wins and losses will help each person how much money they have lost and won in the bet. Keeping track of wins and losses will never lead to gambling addiction. A good gambler must keep a record of these wins and losses. Not keeping track of wins and losses can make a person a bad gambler.

I think most gamblers will never record the history of the results of their gambling and when they want to see it they might just look at the casino betting statistics history feature.
Whether it is gamblers who are just having fun or those who are looking for profit will not do it.
In fact some gamblers feel regret when looking at their betting history because they know how much they have lost so far.

If there is maybe just history of betting on the same day or time.
Because at the same time they will calculate the amount of losses and wins to be able to think and take what steps to take whether they are still able to continue or not.
That is only done by professional gamblers as you have said.

because most gamblers don't record the results of the gambling they do, that's why there are many gamblers who end up losing big, I don't gamble very often but for the last year I have been trying to record how much capital I have - my losses - my wins every time I gamble on Google. doc, the results are quite good, I can control myself so as not to exceed the limit of money that I can afford to lose. Try to apply discipline in gambling, the results will be very good for you.

I don't keep a record of my wins and my losses because if I keep a record I will have a huge deficit because I lose a lot more than I win and I will be disappointed if I see a big amount of money that I lose so I just take it per game and if I lose I erase it to my memory and move on.

I also don't see any reason to record or keep a record maybe if you keep a record and you see the amount of money you've lost you will be discouraged from gambling, but will it keep you from playing, whether you play for entertainment or playing for money keeping a record will not keep you from playing I don't think its a cure to stop gambling

Not keeping or keeping a record will not make you a bad gambler what makes you a gambler is you spend money that you cannot afford to lose, if you spend little money, and that little money will have an impact on your living it will make you a bad gambler.

But I don't think it will always be like that either, meaning that not everyone when they see the calculation of the amount of deposits and withdrawals will become emotional and even worse in gambling, and I think what is more effective is that in this way they will find out that they have gone very far in gambling by seeing that the number of defeats is much higher, and also in my opinion this will be able to make them realize that this is really gambling that only relies on luck, and also besides that they might change their mindset for the better and not too much.
Indeed, not everyone will become emotional when they see the comparison between deposit and withdrawal amounts because it depends on a person's perspective, especially if that person makes the notes just to find out how much money has been used for gambling. And if they realize this month they have deposited more than the previous month, they really need to reduce it and see how their finances stand. It could be that having a gambling record can make him aware of staying within his limits so that he doesn't gamble excessively and can still enjoy gambling as entertainment.

I think this is indeed a pretty good laternative for every gambler to do, whether it's those who are already addicted or for those who think gambling is normal. It's like a business where management is very important, so in this way maybe I think as I said above and what you said, the chances are quite high that they will think that they will reduce their gambling budget and also of course they will apply more firm self-control when gambling. Basically prevention is always going to be better than cure.
Having a record of his gambling journey can keep him from exceeding his limits so he won't try to spend more money just to gamble. But there are also people who don't keep notes about their gambling because they think they can still care for themselves while gambling and don't overdo it. They can still gamble sufficiently and have a budget for gambling and do not exceed the budget for gambling. And yes, prevention will always be better than cure.

Looking at the history of gambling results can trigger our emotions to become irregular because we will be sad if we see the many losses we have experienced, especially if we also see the comparison between deposits and withdrawals. It turns out that the deposits are greater than the withdrawals. I don't have records of my gambling games because I don't need them and until now, I think I can still handle my gambling well even though I also experience losses like other gamblers.

I don't think you can be called a bad gambler if you don't record your losses and wins here.
If it's just entertainment for you, you don't need to record it. I also don't record my gambling losses and wins because for me I don't need to record them because I'm not good at gambling either and I can only see the money I lose growing. If you enjoy it and control yourself when it comes to gambling, I don't think there is a problem. I think that's only for serious gamblers and professionals who keep track of their winnings and losses so they know if what they've been doing lately is good.

Good day crypto Famz, I will like to ask gamblers this question, is there any gamblers on here that keeps record of their wins and losses? Do you keep a record of all the pennies you use to gamble and also the result?

Is there even a need for one to keep such records? I don't see any reason for me to start doing that because I don't give financial records or statements to anyone based on my gambling activities.

But ser, if you're a casino regular, then regular recording-keeping of your gambling wins/losses is not something for you to share with someone. It's for YOU to reflect on your gambling activities, and if you're actually winning, or it could also be to know how much you're losing and if your weekly/monthly budget can take it.

But if you're rich who can gamble to lose/for entertainment, no need for record-keeping. But if you're merely a pleb, then you better know how much of your monthly salary is going to your gambling habit.

Quote

But given this second lesson, there is really a need for anyone who gambles frequently to keep this kind of record, as this might help them reflect on how they gamble, as many people might consider gambling a business, so with such a record, you can be able to determine if you are spending more than you expect on gambling and losing more than you have put in, which can either be used to reduce someone's gambling activities or increase them, although without even booking this down on a note, one can always go back to the gambling site and get the bet history, unless those casinos only allow users to view up to a certain period.

If it is something that you don't do regularly, like once in a few months, then I don't think you have to keep records of anything as long as you haven't gambled heavily. But another reason to keep records of your profit is because of the taxes. If you win big, you must report it and pay your taxes on what you have won. And also if you are a regular gambler, then yes, it is best to keep records for your own good. It will help you organize financial costs/aspects more easily. It will also help you know if you are spending over the limit or not and if you should stop soon.
Even if we do say that you are playing on everyday but doesnt mean that you would really needing to have that track of your gambling expense or betting yet seeing those numbers in accumulation would really be just making you that desperate on the time that you are seeing some significant amount and this is the main reason on why i dont really make myself having those tracks because instead on giving out benefit, it would really be that rather giving out that kind of negative impact into you. Well, it does really depend on a certain person because not all would really be that
confident about their spending and this is why they would really be needing that track but in overall it doesnt really have make sense because you would really be still be continuing on doing gambling.
What matter the most on here is that you should really be having that kind of moderation in terms of spending money with gambling because having no control would really be ending up
into those impulsive approach which we know that it would really be a huge disadvantage.

If yes, we can see how much money we make from gambling. And that should make us think about what we should do in gambling. Will we continue gambling but try to reduce the amount of money so as not to experience more losses or should we stop gambling because we will lose more? Everything will be a lesson for us to return to our original goal of gambling, where we gamble just to get pleasure. And when we get that pleasure, we must be able to stop before we lose control of ourselves in gambling.

This is very correct and I don't expect anyone just to gamble without proper records of happenings around you and regards to several factors that have a much-rooted impact on our overall gambling life and such vital areas that we need to keep records of are.
1 the amount of deposits per time or week, you separate into two categories, the first category is to check how much you deposit on a daily, then the second category is your weekly deposits,  all this needs to be recorded in other to be able to plan ahead of your future spending and possible adjustment.
2: another aspect that needs a timely record is the area of how much time you spend gambling,  per day anweekks also, since your total timing almost equals how many wagers you may have made.

I accept the aspect of tax purposes if the gambler is in the country where tax is levied on the winnings from gambling. This is to take direct check on how much has come in as profit and losses to know how much the tax office is to deduct or not to incase there is no winning. Apart from that, I don't expect professional gambler to worry himself about taking record of how much he wins since he is a professional meaning he must be in profit. Those who will worry about records are those who record losses more to take account of their expenses. Generally, it is more tedious to start taking record on gambling expenses and winnings if you are a regular player.
