You will need a computer, the Compac F doesn't have WIFI. You need a computer with cgminer installed on it.

It is difficult to say if the Compac F is the best usb miner, but yeah, it is an excellent one (a block was already found with one some months ago). You can have a look on Gekkoscience R909 too, if offers more hashrate. Gekkoscience products are stable and reliable, they are excellent.

You can also check the DIY project named Bitaxe, it runs standalone, and they are actually starting to sell the first batch (you can build them yourself or buy them already assembled). But we actually don't know if they are as stable as Gekkoscience's products.

For the USB hub related question, you should definitely use a strong USB hub with a Compac F, the USB port of a Raspberry Pi would probably don't offer enough power if you want to overclock your USB asic.

Hi all,

Has anyone here ever hooked up a Futurebit power supply to the GS hub? The PSU has two PCIE-connector and the usb hub only needs one. Is it okay to just plug in the one connector or will that be bad news for the hub?

I use an atx psu an evga 750 watt model p2

I run 2 sticks and an r606 with the psu along with an and ryzen 9 3900x cpu mining monero

I use sidekick's product to mine btc solo

this setup burns very little power 250-300 watts max

Don’t know quite where to post this question, but I’ll give it a shot here. I have 4 Moonlander 2s I wish to run. I’ve seen some recommended powered USB hubs on this site, but I don’t wish to spend $165 that I’ll never recover. Was wondering if this hub I found on Amazon might work. I got the pluggable 7 port hub from 419 Mining. Good starter hub. Comes with everything you need and can run 4 overclocked NewPacs with proper cooling.

the hub uses a 60 watt brick so

.8 x 60 = 48 x .9 = 43.2 watts if you are lucky it should do 4-5 sticks. does not sidehack still sell his hub? His hub is pretty nice.

I got my second NewPac, but seems like my ORICO powered hub is having problems, as the miners keep restarting and never reach clock above 250Mhz.

I guess I need new power brick.
