That looks like an absolute beast!!

Just checked out your usb hubs. I'm a little confused about the one you linked. It says in the "Package Contents" that is comes with 1x 12v/8A  brick. But it says in the title 2x 12v/10A bricks?

just doubled checked, it comes with 2 x 12V 10A bricks. Good quality ones that last as well Smiley

hub looks sick, is it two bricks, one for each column of ports?

yeah 1 brick for 1 column, the hub has 2 x standard barrel plug connectors

Yup, Newpacs are awesome! I am running 32 NEWPACs at the same time on ONE usb hub  Smiley

They are fine at 300 Mhz, anything above that they probably need the v. core altered to run stable. One was giving me issues with "Toggling ASIC nRST to reset" msg, which I think is because that particular one needs more juice or doesn't like the freq.

Picture is using this Eyeboot 32 Port 240W USB Hub
https://www.eyeboot.com/32-port-usb-hub.html
this hub is relatively cheap when compared to the other large hubs options out there and it comes with dual power supplies (2 x 12V10A psu).

Other notable hubs:
Eyeboot 30 Port USB hub

Sipolar 10 Port USB hub

Nice, the newpacs have been flawless for me on the gs hub as well and 2pac I throw on there too. I only get zombies on the 10 port 5A hub I bought from amazon which only has 4 2pac's on it now and still gives me issues. I thought about trying a brick but 6 pin from psu just works well where I have mine set up and with 1600w I can run a few of sidehacks hubs.

Glad everything is working out. I also heard you caught my Easter egg I left for you. Glad you saw it before it got pulled. Wink

Only at the poker table. Looks good, are those case fans on the sides of box not powered?

They are powered by the 12V outs on those mighty fine GekkoScience Hubs that I picked up from MineFarmBuy... Knowing the troubles people have had over the years finding suitable hubs for USB miners, isn't it fantastic that sidehack would design a robust hub designed specifically for mining! They're like PB & J, man! They go together real fine. Thanks to those who've helped to get them on my desk. This arrangement is in my living room... the noisiest item is the old laptop!

gcnelson with some sickness. I was gonna post my set up but now I'll have to ask for more media "samples" to compete. I did request a gs hub since they have the sticker or etching on them compared to sample I, err we got. Wink

It's just an exhibition, not a competition... please, no wagering...

So... I finally got a phone with a camera, and I'm using this to see if I can post a picture of my setup once I trim it down as png file. It should look like 18 Newpacs in 3 GekkoScience Hubs (wicked)... cooled by 4 12V CPU fans and 3 USB fans (wicked cool?)... There's also half a dozen GS 2Pacs on an Eyeboot hub... also with USB powered fans... and a GS Terminus pod and another USB fan (not shown). Rock solid...

Thanks to whoever corrected the image posting... one day, this old guy will catch on... Just thanks. - G

We're going to need a bigger heatsink.
Thanks for the offer but I feel like the complete mess is more representative of my lifestyle Smiley

Well that looks a hell of a lot better than my disaster of a build. Good luck with your sales Smiley

Thanks armedmilitia, we can 3D print a custom case for you too, if your interested send us a DM and we can give you a quote based on a few more pictures.

dual 70mm fans on a 3d printed stand keeps our miners nice and cool.
If anyone needs custom stands for larger single fans, let me know.

I put together a handful of sidehack sticks (2x Compac and 1x 2Pac) into the ultimate mining machine. Right now I've got a 1 in 9 million chance of hitting a block each day, wish me luck Smiley

Here's a pic of the rig in action:

Here's a pic partway through construction, that shows the guts of this monstrosity:

The exhaust fan is powered by USB (it's a 12v fan so 5v makes it nice and quiet) and so is the fan attached to one of the compacs. The fan attached to the compac is a former laptop CPU fan that's been repurposed for extreme (ly sketchy) cooling.

Below is a series of progress pics:

Note the sketchy off-brand thermal paste and the very secure method of installing the heatsink with electrical tape. Despite this, it runs far cooler than the other compac, probably because the fan is designed for cooling a 30W CPU. Too bad my hub is too weak to crank the voltage up. Cry

I didn't say anything about the brick. Talking about the hub itself. There's only three regulators, so if you want to push past 10W per stick you need to only put two sticks per regulator, which means a max of 6 on the hub for the really high per-stick speeds.

A 100 gb a stick is nice.

Best is six sticks with 2 to each regulator, but you can do 4 if you want.

I figured brick  would stress at 6 x 15 = 90 watts

vs 4 x 15 = 60 watts which is only 50% of the brick.
