Now the money is free, and so the people will be
So I got new ASus dual 5700, stock it uses 1.05v @ 117w gpuz reading under load.  It hashes 53-54mhs without any bios mod 1860mem @ 85w gpuz.  If stable will try higher mem and lower voltages.  Great job Asus, first 5700 I see with proper thermals, core clocks and fan speeds right off the bat.  Would recommend to any gamer.  345$usd equivalent too.  I'm just really happy with this model.  I do not know if its possible to flash this one without problems.
edit: ehhh might not be stable

Used 1080 Ti in my country has been priced at 320 Euro (380 USD) up to 350 Euro (415 USD). And after 3000 news, they dropped to 280-300 euro. What do you guys think about that price? Worth buying them out?

maybe maybe not.  what is your power cost?  they pull more then the amd 5700.

but i am thinking the amd 5700 is at least 400 -425 euro for you.

are you at 5 cent or 8 cent usd per kwatt? if you are build a rig or two.

I think i did pretty decently on my 5700 rig... total GPU cost of $2,150 for 4 XT's ($373 avg price) & 2 non-XT's ($330 each)... and all of these purchased in the last 10-12 days.

Absolutely agree with Phil that waiting for 3070's is not a good plan. First and foremost, we could (i hope not) be back to low block rewards by the time you get those up and running. The name of the game here is mining as much as possible when profits are at their highest, so sitting out a spike is simply not a good idea.  Furthermore, since when have Nvidia GPUs been even close to Radeon for mining profitability/days to ROI?  Maybe the gap was a bit smaller when ETH was way down and dual mining other algos on Nvidia could make decent returns, but certainly the gap is large now with ETHash being the most profitable GPU-mining algo by far!

It will be very interesting to see what happens when all of those 4GB cards cant mine ETH any more.  I will run my new 5700 rig in addition to my four 6x 470 rigs and 2 1070ti rigs and that will get me around 1.3Ghz on ETHash.  Assuming profitability holds a bit longer, I could see building 1 more 5700 rig in time for the Dec deadline, which would still get me 1Ghz even after taking those 4 470 rigs offline.  Then, who knows.  From what I've heard, implementation of ETH 2.0 will likely kill off the nice bump in block rewards we've seen recently. But, who knows when that will actually go live?  A lot of variables are in play that nobody can predict, but if things stay good into the beginning of 2021, I would take a hard look at the mining capabilities of the forthcoming Big Nave GPU's.  Even a 30% efficiency bump over 5700's would make things very interesting!

You dont have watchdogs?

I have been using those for long time, last year i didn't have to visit my mining place for 6 months. (I did visit but just for fun:))
If computer crashes it just reboots and mining continues...

(Just using Asrock H81 Pro BTC boards with risers and 6 cards).

One thing i dont understand that people spend so much time to max their cards, who cares if card mines 29mh/s or 30mh/s... most important thing is it to be stable.

I have a few of these boards

https://www.ebay.com/itm/124217882169?

and lots of bitmain psus

if I alternate

 slot 1 big msi 5600
 slot 3 big msi 5600
 slot 5 big msi 5600
 slot 7 big msi 5600
slot 8 short power color 5600

5 x 40 = 200 mhs  no overheating as the last card is short and will allow air to get to the slot 7 msi

this is a 200 mhs unit for about

1300 usd in gpus six months to pay

psu    =    free I have it.
cpu    =    free I have it
ram   =    free I have it

I see, nice...what do you think about this board:

Or do you like having the full slot?

Full slot not maxed out allows for very reliable up time..  Most of my gear will be  65 miles from my home.

I estimate I would make 20 visits a year to the farm if I stay riser free.

If I use rises for 50+ cards I will need to make 30 visits a year.

so 130miles round trip plus tolls any trip I can save is good.

I usually won't make the trip unless 10% of my gear is down.

I would love to make 8-12 trips a year  vs 20 or 30

Riser free will help.
Take a 8 slot board with 5 cards .  5 risers could be bad or 5 cards could be bad only 10 things can go wrong and since I don't pack the boards I have 3 spare slots.

Take a 5 card riser board.  that is 5 usb cables each has 3 points of failure the male end the female end and the wires in-between
there is a riser with a usb socket and a power socket that is 3 points of failure  and the riser can be bad so 4 points of failure.

lastly the adapter that joins the usb and the mobo jack has 2 ends so 3 points of failure. since something in the adapter pub can be bad so

3+4+5 = 12 spots that can go wrong vs 2.  so if you  do 5 cards to a board 60 spots that can be wrong.

the board you linked can run 12-13 cards so 12 x 13 = 156 bad spots.  lets say you under fill to 10 slots

you have 3 spare slots .  you still have 10 risers you need to trouble shoot .

Now if you are doing 1 rig in your house that's okay to do a riser setup just don't fill the boards.

Ie you want 26 cards don't do 2x 13 card boards  do the same 13 card board and use 8 + 9 + 9 = 26 cards.

and have a set of 6 extra risers.  that is not hard to manage since it is all in your garage.

We dropped a bit in earnings today. But its all good.

Still doing well.

Phil..... push your hash to 2gh/s to get 180-190$ per day!

Well That will be a bit too hard. For now.

Maybe late next week I will order more.

I need to sort the numbers out and take a breather.

I am getting all my RX480s to hard labor now to max my available power.

My sources in Shenzen shared with me that come November, we may see a sharp drop in hash due to 4GB cards going offline. This should give us enough time to get ready...

If ETH goes ballistic hopefully I can source enough OEM 5700XT on K35s from Shenzen, before the herd comes in.

According to hiveos statistics around 50% of eth mining gpus are 4gb and about 50% of eth hashrate comes from Asics, let's say that half of those Asics are also 4gb we can expect up to 50% hashrate drop by end of November

Yes, this is why I jumped in whole hog on new cards, ETH doubling was just gravy. I expect to see a 25-50% hashrate drop.

I am thinking this could last until early january.

just remember that the bitmain eth miner can be upgraded to more ram and mine .

the miner was not very efficient so if they used all the same parts but more ram 🐑 it would not be as good as amd 5700.

i would think they could make one with more ram and more efficient. I would look out for this to occur.

May take until January and wont be done unless mining ⛏ keeps doing well.

This fear of mine has prevented me from really pushing on buying cards.

a decent 5700xt is about $650--$700?

this is far better than our 2017 GPU madness where all of us here guilty buying thousand dollar 1080tis.

Come end of year, I would not want to get caught forced to buy a thousand dollar 5700.

I am regretting not getting a few dozen of that OEM 5700XT under $400 in early August

maybe a mining card version of 5700xt coming soon?

will AMD listen to miners once again?
