@mczarnek - the biggest problem I see with your proposal as that each forger is being asked for a "random" number - how are you going to be sure of that?

I think that for the "ticket" (which currently is looking to be the forging hash of the block 1440 in the future) could have extra entropy by something more simple like the sum of the number of bytes in each of the 1440 blocks together with the # of transactions (and maybe several other such things so that trying to "construct a block" to benefit becomes so difficult it wouldn't be attempted).

I think also adding this amount of entropy helps because your ticket "isn't" just the forging hash (which could lead to people calling out *rigged* if a forger skips its turn).

I would say lets put this enormous thread on-going, this is where poeple throw their raw idea out and discuss about, where the forum is a perfect for poeple to work and concentrate on that particular features.

I was against this enormous thread at first, but yeah, it's kind of like a chat room with a very long history saved.

Think we can reach the limit on number of pages bitcointalk will allow? Smiley

Well, it's slowed quite a bit, I used to go to sleep and wake up to 20 new pages, now everyone is posting at nxtforum.org

Did you see their faces when minnow used the doge gateway as an example. that says it all people
I missed it. What happened when he mentioned DOGE gateway?
I am currently debugging BTC, LTC, PPC, DOGE and DRK for the multigateway
adding more is a matter of installing coin's daemon as long as it is bitcoind fork

Their jaws dropped in amazement.

do you know at what time in the vid did he mention doge gateway?? really want to see it lol

No I sure don't. You can't miss it though. They all turned to NxtMinnow in amazement and their jaws hit the floor.

Do you have link to video? Not sure what is so amazing, maybe the multisig?

welllll... they were so amazed b/c he called it fully decentralized, so I think they thought it was completely embedded in the protocol, and didnt depend on your managed gateways.

@jack

I also need "getrawtransaction" and "decoderawtransaction" commands, I doubt a coin would support createmultisig and not those, but you never know

Please guys, take a few minutes to take a look at hashrate.org
I've really tried my best to make a game changer here.

Too bad I've been working so hard on it I forgot to stock up on NXT ahead of time, lol

Paradigm, the site looks GREAT now. Fantastic job!
thanks!
it's still a long way from being done though
I took the rest of the week off from my day job so I can get 'er done. Smiley

Is the GUI button something you want to see in client or on a separate web page?
It would be easiest for users if it was a separate tab in the GUI.
The google authenticator will use a different website, but again the GUI could make it look all seamless!

Hey emule!
Do you have any DOGE's?
Maybe you can help test multigateway?
I saw that you actually made a useful post or two, maybe you are gradually becoming a NXT'er?

I have a few thousand James. Let know if I can help.
I just got all three servers coordinating over the point to point network and they all shared their public keys for the user deposit addr (which will be unused) and then all created the same multisig addr!

Now I just have to debug the refactored txout parsing and hook it up to the asset transfer code. Gotta hack in a comment generator until new release directly supports comments to associate deposits to asset transfers.

It seems that ppcoind does not support the "createmultisig" command, I hope nobody will be too disappointed that PPC wont be supported.

It would help if you could get a list of bitcoind/litecoind forks we can support. "createmultisig" command is the key, the other commands are pretty much required for any functional coin.

Nice work, can't wait to test!
Just got three servers to generate multisig addresses for a specific deposit acct, for all five coins!
I am pretty sure I can get the deposit side released for testing this week.
Withdrawals, might go smoothly, but I have a feeling it will be tougher

Edit: correction, it looks like PPC does not support multisig, missed the error message in all the printouts. I guess I will have to drop support for it.

Great, can we test via AE with Wesleyh's client?
Certainly, that is what I am using to test.
However, it would be helpful for the user to have some special multigateway commands that automatically set the redeem address and other niceties. All pretty easy to add after the basics are working.

The most useful would be if a button can be clicked in GUI to generate the AM that requests deposit addresses for the list of selected currencies. For testing, I will release a command line program that does this and also monitor gateway status.

After you get deposit address (handy if GUI could somehow remember it), you just send to that address and it appears in NXT AE. To redeem, just send it back and it will appear in the specified address. Which of course uses the same type of AM based mechanism. After initial release, I will add option for 2FA and then each withdraw will require google authenticator. I am also thinking about how best to implement additional funtionality, like NXTmixer, NXTcash, NXTbridges, etc.

I will announce when deposits are ready to test, it will happen first.

Hi Nxt community,

Many people are interested in NXT at Coinsumm.it. I hope my delivery of the Decentralized Applications panel speach was representative of the views, goals, and projects of the Nxt community. I have business and developer leads to bring to the Nxt community. Thanks for the opportunity to speak as an ambassador of Nxt.

Sincerely,
Brian Snyder

Thanks for your work, Brian!  Smiley
