Hey guys,

I'm currently generating me a 777****777 address. Is my calculation correct that it takes about 900,000 generated addresses to obtain one in my wanted format with 6 wanted digits characters (the 1st digit can't be a zero).

The script is running on my PC and on my university cluster which isn't much faster. It's unfortunately running with the NXT API and in python. So it's not the fastest. I would like to make a native C version.

For this I would have to work me into the algorithms. Is this something the community wants?

For all of you that missed it. Yesterday Andreas Antonopolous mentioned NXT @ Let's Talk Bitcoin.

Go to 04:15

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnYLOg0QR18

The fact that he has an eye on this is very telling imo.

after that show Klee throwed 100K at him, wonder if he accepted.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that the community needs as much projects as possible, I just can't understand why would anyone give so much NXT for this "app" when there are actually other projects that are truly made for the community not just because of a bounty.

+1. Maco is creating a clone Nxt Android app that he will look the same as several others he's created.  I won't be supporting and I don't like his bounty/hostage mentality either.

Better support the clients and webservices.

Hi, as someone required i made a list with the projects in development that need bounties ---> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Al6y4sHa2I4HdEVMTkdCX1FYNEVoZVBpbUZHSHhURXc&usp=drive_web#gid=0
i am digging deeper in the thread to find more. Please send me more info and i will add it. I will be constantly updating it. If you think i should add something, just let me know

not a good idea to create another googledoc, when ther already is one with a list of projects was created many weeks ago and is frequently actualized:

I wanna discuss an idea and maybe get someone on board for this:

What does NXT need?
More projects to promote NXT and more ways to use NXT. And a central page that lists projects in development which need support.

My idea: NXT Crowdfunding

People present their ideas, concepts and offer reward tiers similar to Kickstarter for funders.

Funders get an overview over the current project development and can invest there.

The name: NXTstarter

To be honest, I don't have too much time, to work on this and my programming skills are not the best. I will start with a page and a concept and will at some point try to understand the API.
So if you are thinking about stealing the idea - I don't care too much. I am just thinking that this would be a good way to promote NXT - no matter who sets up such page Wink

If you would like to work on this together - just hit me up.

I already registered NXTstarter.net and NXTstarter.de as well as the alias nxtstarter.

If you like the idea that much, that you want to donate for it immidiately, you can do that here: 13716979363433976859

Blockchain.info doesn't work in that way. They don't have access to your private keys, so they can't steal your coins, that is why is the safest online wallet. (but for 100% safety of course always keep your bitcoins in offline wallet)
Of course hackers can take them if the hack you, or if blockchain change his way of working in the future.

Anywhere explained how they could do that? Any links?

Given the nxt use of passphrases, private/public keys, account IDs etc, is it theoretically possible to replicate blockchain.info's secure wallet setup to work with nxt? Something nxt would benefit from?

common guys,

this is a good example of a white paper, but I am sure we can do better.

You could put * as allowed IPs and connect by browser from an arbitrary host. Are there reasons against this in your case?

Also, are you using RaspNXT already? I know I'm slightly behind on updating Smiley, but it speeds up things a lot. An update to NXT 0.5.3 is soon to come.

Please feed us some info or pics on your Cubietruck when it's there. Basically, this could be the definite high-speed low-cost home NXT node hardware.

I don't want to connect it through local browser in case of key logger.

No, the installation and upgrade is so easy. I am just use the general upgrade step, download nxt client and unzip and start it. BTW, I use some code from nxtbase for management and also I wrote some scripts for myself.

Of course, I will upload some pics here.

One hardware aspect where the Cubietruck is still unique is GigEthernet and SATA. This could be relevant for many people, because the Cubie can double as a nice fileserver. That is, with speeds the other ARM systems couldn't dream of. Just throw in a 1TB 2.5" drive, done.

Hm, didn't notice the U3 didn't have SATA...

Seems both boards have very similar power consumption, so it comes down to storage vs. processing power.

Total badass, low-cost, always on, client / hallmark node for the home:

Dual-Core ARM, 2Gig RAM, 8Gig fast Flash onboard, GigEthernet, sub-100$
http://docs.cubieboard.org/products/start#cubietruck_cubieboard3

Curious, where can you get one for under $100? And how hard would it be to set up a node on it?

I have ordered it last night and I will get it in hand tomorrow.

Presently I am running a Raspberry PI node, however, it's very slow, especially I need to VNC connection to launch the browser to unlock the account to forge. As some guy may know, some special characters including "(" can't be handled with curl to call the API in the linux console.

CT(cubietrunk) has 2G memory. It should be fast.

So I'm kind of a noob when it comes to this stuff...:

1) So I'm thinking about buying it from here (US based company): https://store.iotllc.com/product.php?productid=38&cat=0&featured=Y
2) I assume the 8gb flash memory won't be enough to run the OS (btw, what OS are you planning to use?) + NXT client, so how much space, ideally, should I look for? Is 64gb SD enough for OS + .nxt files? Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter-SDSDQU-064G-AFFP-/dp/B009QZH6JS/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1389348611&sr=1-2&keywords=sd+card

It would be nice to have a platform where I can leave my account unlocked without risk of keylogging (since I would keep only NXT files on the cubbie) and I can leave it on when I go on trips.

Minimum 4 GB flash memory is ok. I will try to install Lubuntu and I will write a guide for the client on CT.

have posted this ~2 weeks before.
What, the Cubie? Sorry. Can't remember seeing it here before.

octa-core. low load the a7 quad is working. high load the a15 quad kicks in.

Didn't know about the low-high-load switching model. Definitely will take a closer look, or even order.

Add: Just found out that all the ODROID-XU have USB 3. There are GigNICs for USB 3, and storage is connectible too of course. But that all adds to the price, and we're already well past 100€.

have posted this ~2 weeks before. if you have some delivery time, you should consider this one:

http://hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php

very nice quadcore.

or this one:

http://hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G137510300620

octa-core. low load the a7 quad is working. high load the a15 quad kicks in.

this is really nice tech.

Wow, very nice. Full package for the quad-core is ~$95, so around same price as a cubbietruck. Maybe I'll order it Grin
