I think micro-payments/tips are still cool and could be useful for Nxt

Gamers? I would like to show a link to an article/report about last Starcraft Showmatch, how many people were there etc, but I cannot because after month you still didn't deliver any

DOGE was a meme (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme). NXT will *never* be a meme and you should be grateful for that because MEME's come and go faster than new altcoins.
We must abandon all delusions and ideas about making NXT some sort of "get rich quick" scheme. NXT is a true 2.0 and we should start acting and advertising like it.

We must get involved users, people who have a reason to use NXT. Who are they?

One of the main groups are libertarians who hate anything regulated and especially fees and centralization of power and money.
We should work on a "ad-campaign" directed at this audience.

Another group is pokerplayers / gamblers. Due to restrictions in *many* countries they cannot deposit fiat into poker accounts, so the more gambling sites that accept NXT, the better.

Greyzone-markets like silkroad covered (please don't get upset QBTC). I'm not saying anything about promoting illegal activities, but there are a lot of countries where certain plants are legal and many countries where steroids, peptides etc. is legal. These people today rely on mainly paypal/westernunion which is obviously not the best when you want to remain as anonymous as possible. If this market suddenly gained interest for NXT the price would skyrocket.

Gamers. For many reasons. Prize money in tournaments/showmatches. Buying things through games etc. Gamers are a HUGE market and we should get friendly with them!

Techies, remittance etc.


So what makes headlines? What made bitcoins headlines? Silkroad, the fact that someone could buy something very real (house, car, pizza) with something the majority of the world considered "fictional".
We must do similar "stunts". We need headlines.

Every altcoin is dropping (exept Litecoin).

The last weeks were really turbulent for Bitcoin, so people don't take risk and hold their bitcoin. They don't buy altcoin

Yeah porno pics sound great. But there are still more than enough pics for free so why would someone buy those?
Young people are all about communication and "likes". I'm sure that if there was a simple like = 1 nxt button a lot of people would press it. This way e.g. those awful freemium games generate this amount of money. But again 1 nxt is way too much money. I think the reason all those doge campaigns were successful is because anybody is willing to spend 0.0001 € to support something funny. I think this kind of micro donation using cryptos will be successful in the future. The question is which currency is able to provide a simple wallet and an easy way to spend those micro donations. If there already are such bitcoin solutions please tell me about that

Simply explained. Awesome post. The simplicity is the main thing missing in bitcoin. Offer that and more people will join in the mass.

Jl777, this is basically what you were telling people two months ago.

      The reason Dogecoin gained such a large market cap in a such a short period of time is public interest. How do we garner public interest in a relatively obscure crypto-currency? Right now even Bitcoin is restricted to the technologically gifted, we need to make everything stupidly easy to use (I think WesleyH has designed the perfect client for this).

     I think we need, in addition to wesleyH's client, a drop dead simple online wallet for new users to get started. Let's not forget that the average IQ of the world's populace is about 100... I remember how many problems techies had with the client in early december, that type of frustration is enough to turn most people off. I can just copy over a bitcoin wallet website I made a while ago and throw in NXT API calls. Shouldn't be too much of a problem.

      We need something that will make NXT relevant, a flagship application that people aged 16-24 (the ideal target audience of a crypto-currency business, or at least mine) can't resist.

      Once the asset exchange is finished let's take-over the online startup crowd-funding community. Not only can people raise money for their startup, their stock will instantly be trading on a massive network, no regulations to conform with. This is, I think, our best sell-point in the short-term.

      Let's sell NXT as the next https://www.kickstarter.com/, but better. We can get hundreds of thousands of people in our community if it works, https://www.kickstarter.com/help/stats. Need funding for a project? Create a new asset and start selling it as stock.

      

I agree, let's move on, thought someone should stick up for Pin as he's done good work for Nxt and I don't know why comparisons were made with emule.  Again, seems like one could be more productive with posts.

I have no idea what the "need" to even bring it up was.
I asked for proof, and none was provided.
There is a phrase for that: "spreading baseless rumors".

And that is just blegh in my book. And that's the last I will say about it.
