OK, I've dragged myself away from InfCom, BTC conferences and my secret plans just to visit the firehose thread.....and what do I find:
Are there some people left who're NOT dumping their Nxt? I see a lot of whales want out.
Why exactly is it?
Take a look at the top 60 accounts. Do you know how many NXT is that for 60 people?
Well, to many. Price is going down constantly last couple of weeks. Many people are leaving this thread and this community as you can see in last week or so. Stakeholders see all this as well, they are also getting little scared about the future so they are cashing out some of their NXT.
Unfortunately all of this is a snowball effect. I am afraid that if we don't get some fresh new cash soon that it might get ugly. Maybe I am wrong though. Actually, I hope I am wrong.
Far too much negativity, is what I find.
I think that some people have been very over-optimistic about how NXT is going to develop and expect it to take over the world inside a couple of months. Well, sorry, not going to happen.
Everyone who has properly looked into it can see the huge potential of NXT, we need to simply keep on rolling: developing, releasing, promoting.
At a certain moment all of that effort, all of those amazing features, all of that promotion will pay off and NXT will start to snowball on upwards. Maybe this snowball will happen when we release AE, maybe it'll happen 3 months later with the next feature set release.
We can't predict with any certainty when that snowball moment will happen, but if we start to back out and fold our hands, it certainly won't happen.
So:
HODL, work yer asses off for NXT and it'll all come good in the end. Duck and run.....u get nothing, or close to nothing.
Talking of new features:Allow me to introduce myself, I am an early investor in NXT, and have been floating around various community forums since november under different names. I know C++, Java, PHP, Javascript, Html, CSS, SQL, Python, and HDL (Hardware Description Language).
I haven't been around for the past two months because of health reasons, but now I want to contribute in any way I can.
I think if we integrate application level URI schemes (i.e. nxt://, as someone suggested earlier)
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ie/aa767914(v=vs.85).aspx, with a distributed storage parallel block chain to host websites -- the value of nxt would go to 2 BN in about a week.
In fact a simple executable with root privileges could reprogram browsers without any user effort.
Thoughts? If enough people are interested I can fund this project out of my own pocket.
It's a good idea. I think it should happen. Like to see a more detailed proposal, including costs and time to live.....
To the guys worried about illegal content and the perception that NXT is facilitating criminal activities: set up an internal reporting system for possible illegal content, one that everyone can access. Anything truly out of order, will get reported.
(and by out of order, the only thing my personal morality has a problem with is hurting/exploiting kids, vulnerable people and animals, pretty much anything else is fine with me.) This needs more working out, but has a lot of potential.
This doesn't:Please dont. This is an update of the old business listing scam. "Give us money, we'll put u in a book that no-one will ever see."
Buy the book when it comes out, if u need to support this idea.
And lastly:
after I contacted admin he asked me: "Is the NXT community interested in the products we offer?"
http://saltsworldwide.com/are we interested? to buy salt by nxt? I use salt quite often
Lol, no.
WTF ? Someone wanted to use NXT for payments and u say no?
Who cares if it's salt, pepper, car parts, stickers or BF4 keys: it's all trade, its all good.
I would have expected a slightly more positive response......
Right, i'm off to my bed.
Keep the faith,
stop whining, and keep on working to make NXT better.
