Thanks. If you think I'm the lowest common denominator intellectually, then well, I hope you're financially diversified.

Haha, good post Smiley

It is true that we need to make a failsafe client for really computer-retarded persons. But a client like Offspring is close to that. Can't make much wrong with it!

New users are going to go to http://www.nxtcrypto.org/ and download the default NRS server -- Most won't even know "Offspring" exists.

The build-in client (that was supposed to be temporary) that comes with NRS server needs to be replaced. This will solve most password related user errors.

Totally agree. When introducing friends or fellow pokerplayers to NXT I always send them to nxtclient.org and stell them to now install the main client, because it is too much hassle to set it up. But I am sure we will figure out a solution to that soon.

After 5 years there still isn't a good poker room for coiners. Seals with clubs doesn't cut it. If there was a room on the level of a proven regular poker room, UI wise (Pokerstars, iPoker, or at least 888-Pacific Poker) then I would definitely play there.

Seals is okayish. One of the downsides is the lack of traffic. Other than that, they try hard to ímprove, but they don't have a lot of funding!

Since FPDB added SWC, playing with a HUD is much more preferrable.

I guess nxtcrypto.org  should redirect users to nxtclient.org  from the download link. NRS is the "server".  Something like the main backbone. The clients interact with it. Anyone can write any type of client (like Offspring with wallet.dat as option) that interacts with NRS server. NRS comes with it's own (very basic) client javascript client, but it was always intended to be temporary.

Who manages the site? Might be a good idea to change that, until the new UI comes out.

Correct, because they won't realize the OP is leading them to an inferior client that lacks very basic refinements.

If you download the offspring client on nxtclient.org, I can send you a couple of NXT to play around a bit. Send some messages (even encrypted) , register an alias or send NXT.
Also you could check out the NXT testnet that runs the asset exchange on http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/ . Register an account and post here and we will send you some test nxt.

Nxt is really awesome, if you give it a try!

In another month there'll be 5 more legitimate competitors. Probably without the same 100% premine.

I think then maybe Nxt was never the right choice for you to look at (there are plenty of alt coins out there which are Bitcoin/Litecoin clones so you have many other choices).

There are even Nxt clones now too!

I've tried many many btc/ltc/ppc/nvc clones. Some I like, most I don't. Next is new and different and I wanted to give it a shot. I have no interest in any next clones.

Good for you.  Please move on, we will inform you when there is a solarion friendly client available.

I don't care if next succeeds. I was merely anxious to try it out. I've been disappointed with the product from the start.

Your criticism has been noted and hopefully in another month we won't see the same kind of problem appear again (flame wars don't improve software - that takes work which is going on as we are posting).

Come back when they are out and working and lets see how many bugs and problems they have and where they are on coinmarket.

Until them, yawn

1593 or 1592 less the nonsensical minimum transaction fee.

PM me your Nxt account # associated with YOUR password and I'll send you 1593 later, I think you should at least stick around so you can try Asset Exchange and some other really neat features being released soon.

Msin you are a great guy but you shouldn't do this. It is clear that he showed up over here just to run his mouth and bash all that we do. He is a troll and period. Even after you offered to reimburse his coins he acts like a dick. He is a FUDster and troll. Point blank. From his third post he started running his mouth and it is obvious this was his only intention.

Yes, but he is upset that he lost his Nxt, people express themselves differently.  This isn't something that happens frequently, so I thought i'd give him the benefit of the doubt.  It's a small amount of Nxt and sometime people don't have much $ so they get really upset about losing their holdings.

You clearly made a mistake.
You logged in without a password, so your account was the account without password.

But i agree,  we need a wallet.dat feature very urgently

getting there, where newbies can easily use it without confusion like above guy.

This admitted noobie to next has been using cryptos since 2010 and never have I had this kind of problem. To say this product needs polishing is like saying a wreck at the junkyard needs paint.
