@ AE devs, did you made a balance tracking already and if so did you found any diffs between your
filled/cancel orders if you unroll them back to inital balance?

ps: thx abctc

Unconfirmed balance bug is not fixed yet.

tion to keep this ball rolling.  We should ask the Cryptsy folks to document what was required to get NXT plugged into their system. Then we should turn right around to allwelder or some of the other Chinese NXT members and see that this info from Cryptsy gets communicated to BTX38.com in China.  We need to be on both of these exchanges as soon as possible.  It is the only way we are going to get exposure to a new pool of capital to buy NXT and get our exchange volume back up.

Good idea. Give them some bounty for it.
I support this - a part of unclaimed funds should go as a bounty to cryptsy, btc38 and maybe btc-e (I hate these scammers but..).

Let's move this shit forward, especially cryptsy (big volume) and btc38 (CNY/NXT).

I suggest 100K nxt bounty.

One final thing I will say about the (lack of proper) statistical analysis is that for my own involvement in Nxt I would rather be paid in BTC (if I am to be paid anything at all).

I have read proper statistical papers (such as created by Meni) with sound math describing all of the possible attacks upon Bitcoin and I am much more satisfied with that then the "just trust BCNext's algorithm argument" who himself btw actually stated "don't trust me".

It seems that things like "proper analysis" are not things that this community wants to do or even hear about. Sad

I don't think people really understand what NXT is. They have good Ideas that they would like to see tried, but don't realize that they will be able to try them within the NXT network without overcomplicating the programing. All of these things need not be centralized to the network. They are free market opportunities that can be implemented with the network once it is fit and ready. The network needs to be simple and as decentralized as possible. Sorry to hear your frustration.

Maybe a Tech thread dedicated to you dev guys would keep all the dreamers from pissing  on your gate.

"This means that a person wishing to retain their wealth across what could be many decades of
biostasis might attempt do so by memorizing their access code and destroying any physical record of it –putting this wealth
out of circulation until their future revival with memories intact. Technical and legal questions abound, but the idea may give
fresh reason to doubt the phase “You can’t take it with you.” "

Nice! Lets spread it!
This was my idea basically Wink

Ideal for NXT (brainwallet) - I suggested to Ken that it could be a benchmark test (in the future) between the two methods, cryopreservation and plastination: which one performs better for remembering the passphrase when resurrected!  Cool

Agreed (minus the vulgar language), we can market AE when it's finished with testing and we are happy with it.

Btw, who is really testing it? I got only a few bug reports.

I don't really need AE working (I'm not a trader and don't need to IPO anything), so I can wait till April. The community should focus on testing if it does need AE.

hm well ... I have tested all the basic functions: placeOrder (bis/ask) cancelOrder(bid/ask),issueAsset, transferAsset, trade. Fetch bidorder/askorder as TX from trade.
The bug with the 'not enough funds'. I am still missing out on the scaling - whether it is 0.01nxt or 1 nxt, little things like that.

May main focus atm is getting the modelView pulled straight in Qt, and then I'll have to switch from GET to POST in requests.

What about a liquid market? How can we simulate one? What kind of test cases can we come up with? Who actually IS testing the AE on the testNET? For sure I know about jl777 and myself but there are 2 or three others - wesleyh / nexern / marcus03 ??

Please chime in whoever is testing, so we can cook up something more lively!

yes, we have to setup a more reallistic AE scenario and put some heavy load to predefined assets.
i would suggest to coordinate this wthin the next days because we need a precise account balance
tracking for this. i just added additional logfiles within the client to trace the balance and found some
small diffs. not sure yet if this is a bug or not or a minor error within my code.

all basic functions a workig very well from my side and the AE is cool. we need ths AE soon to built
a bunch of services on top of this.

For now I'm done with AE implementation in my client. It might need a bit of polishing once there are lots of assets/orders/trades, but I'll be able to fix this pretty quickly.

I myself, haven't seen any problems in the NRS side of the implementation.

On a side note regarding my client: I've put a lot of work into implementing client-side signing in my client to be able to connect securely to trustless nodes, so that users don't have to start NRS at all and I can ditch NRS and java from my distribution. However, I think that it is currently not possible to use a NXT thin client, since the API doesn't have calls that return batches of transactions/orders/trades/peers with one call. As it is right now, it simply takes to long to do hundreds or thousands of separate calls to fetch hundreds or thousand of transactions/orders/trades/peers. Since I really think that thin clients are the way to go, you might not see any updates of my client until a batch mode is available.

Seems to be quite fast for my client. Threading is what you need to do, and I also limit it to the last 50 bid / aks orders.

I do use threading and the problem can be circumvented for orders, since you are only really interested in the top orders.

When a user adds an account, do you fetch all transactions for this account?

Now this is the kind of thing that is *valuable* (more so than all the "suggestions" about different ways to do things).

I am grateful to @mthcl for actually "doing some math" for us and hope that he will be able to help us to analyse things further in order to make some "scientific decisions" (rather than "populist" ones).

EDIT: If some of the "whales" could spare some of their NXT then I would hope they would consider sending some his way.

+1    600 nxt sent to him,ty^^

But mixing conceptually different worst-case scenarios will obscure causes.

Your welcome to fix it (as stated - I am done with it - you have the source code now go and *code* rather than reply to posts).

I believe in another thread (flaw thread) we came to the conclusion that it is important to have many accounts for modeling. 10 could be too few.

It could be - so at the moment I am focusing on some more "worst-case scenarios".

Once I am happy with the stats we are getting from those simulations then I will move to what are perhaps "more realistic scenarios".
