This is not true at all and I'm apologize if you got that impression. I emailed the swarm out to the members that signed up through the volunteer form at the time to minimize the exposure of the list to competitors that may be lurking in the forums.
The spreadsheet is public and like Justabit said there have been many people that have contributed. If you would like a link to it Salsa let me know, I will get it sent to you. It was no way meant to be held from anyone, I just did not want it to be out in the wild.
As for the huge media list, same deal... just drop a PM here or Nextcoin and someone will get you what you need.
