Understood, no worries. I think I will invest anyhow 200€ on a single monolith prototype to see how it comes out. I would not want to leave this project a draft only.

I would definitely make them.
They are too expensive for my wallet, too, but I'm sure you will be able to sell them.

I would also advise to date them.

Edit: as in "to put a date on them". Don't take them to dinner or the cinema, that would just be sad.

@ EvilDave:
I was thinking around 5000nxt shipped for each genesis monolith. Does it sound reasonable? I know it's a little pricey but they are one of a kind pieces, the manufacturing and material is not cheap and I'm taking a risk already when ordering 10 of them from my pocket. But let me know what you think, we can negotiate these terms.

5000 NXT = $225 USD. Sounds about right for what it is.....
I think it's a beautiful piece, but there's just no way that I personally am able to part with 5000 of my beloved NXT for it.
(My preciouses.... Cry )
However, if I was a stakeholder/whale I'd take one off you in a minute, just as a reminder of how I got to be a millionaire.
I think u should wait, and get some confirmed orders from big NXT holders before u put the manufacturing order in.

A monolith would also work well on a stand/booth at conferences, maybe the marketing fund could help out.

Gvans.....that monolith is so pretty I want to have it's cute little monolith babies. Really....I want one.
I hate to have to ask how much it costs, but ?

Moving over to stickers, I'm about to push the button on an order for 100 vinyl stickers (@140x40mm format, 1/4 bumper sticker, pre-cut) from a Netherlands printer  ( www,123Sticker.nl ).
Total costs will be €44.50 including sales tax + delivery.

This is really just a test run, to see how the quality is before I/we commit to ordering larger amounts and other designs.
So, anyone who wants stickers, drop me a PM and I'll send some out to any Euro NXTers who ask.
(might ask u to pay some postage if u live in Siberia)

@salsacz: could I get a contribution from marketing funds to cover some/all of the costs ? Ta very much....

Heres the sticker:

Simply describing a strength without directly juxstaposing it to a competitor is a much better tactic. Let people use that as a reason to do a little research and draw their own conclusions.

Or just use the "problem" as a spring board, like so:

Neutral news
"MtGox is having trouble blalalalalalalabla"

Then

Positive news
"In other news, Nxt has just moved forward with the announcement of BCNext's second stage of Nxt. This will allow blablablabla."

People forget neutral and remember positive, also because it's at the end of the article.
People remember negative and it's harder to get them to the positive, while also looking like a plug.

In both cases Nxt comes out tops, but it doesn't look (in fact, it isn't) an attack.

I was thinking of doing this on my blog, but it's not aimed at providing news on BTC, and I don't want to take on that extra work  Tongue

In a related note, I dislike marketing that "attacks" the other parties weak points.
It will always come back to you.

Sure. But thankfully there's always a balance point, where you can take the chance to make alternatives known without bashing any other parties. The moments where people wonder are perfect to put other options on the table.

Actually, one does:

Is nxt vulnerable to the Transaction Malleability problem bitcoin has?

Bitcoin doesn't have Transaction Malleability problem. MtGox does.

Nxt exchanges shouldn't rely on transaction ids though. Coz ids can be changed in a way similar to Bitcoin.

Twitter is sizzling hot. People that usually barely mentioned Nxt are constantly referring to it as an alternative to the present Btc earthquake.

Guys, move your social media and assets. The time is getting more and more ripe.

I think without a booth or naked ladies it is quite impossible to giveaway stickers during regular business talks with potential contributors
Who needs stickers when u have naked ladies?  Cheesy

Nope, business cards are much more useful in a face-2-face. Swag is always nice, tho,
Pens (Admiral.fus idea, methinks) would be good in an f2f situation.

Business cards are a MUST. Get loads.
I've just ran out here in Frankfurt and it's really bad PR to get a big client and you don't have a card. It shouts "small time trader" and "amateur".  Angry

Shaking hands and talking is the only must. You can have all the marketing gear and a big booth and it doesn't mean anything if you don't go out and meet people, if even to give your card and have a chat.

So basically, if you cannot do more than that at short notice, use what you have, which is people and go there and meet and greet.

Also hoard cards like a magpie. Get a notebook, ask for cards and staple them inside. At the end you will have a valuable book with contacts that you have met and can write to. Make quick notes about the people you met when you have the time, so you can personalise emails if needed.

Keep track of opportunities. If at all possible, mail them in the week after the conference to start a closer relationship.

I've been managing a small booth here now for over four days (and now am down with a cold in my hotel room  Cry ), and have loads of contacts for my company that I will spend contacting all in the next week. Big deals and good contacts are not created on the spot. Don't get discouraged it your talks are brief and people seem uninterested or hurried. They have loads of people to meet besides you. If they give you their card, it's an invitation to call on them, so use it!

Also remember to rest. Get drunk áfter the conference Wink. Conferences and meeting people is hard work!

And lastly, enjoy!
