I do have an SSD, but I originally symlinked the data storage from "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\byteball" to other storage due to space concerns... that other storage is an HDD. Undecided

If you have 70GB free on SSD, maybe you could copy it to SSD and do the upgrade and syncing on it instead? The fresh full sync is only 50GB at the moment, but since you are upgrading from existing full node, it might grow to 70GB.

Did BB traded publickly,if yes,where?

That info is on official website https://obyte.org/#exchanges
Any ideas how to get people to find it from there? https://blackbytes.io/
Becomes kind of annoying to answer same questions over and over.

Yes, just install the latest wallet app and replace the folder contents where you copied these, the data folder and database files are still called byteball, no change in that.
That's a good start!

You seem to have full node, so I hope you have SSD drive because converting that to latest version can take 2-4 hours on SSD drive and many days on HDD.

Once the converting is done, it needs to catch up with syncing, which can take a day on SSD or week on HDD. If you decide to not want the full node anymore, you could catch up with syncing and then transfer all your assets to light node wallet.

Much easier would be recovering with seed words on light node, but that won't restore private assets (blackbytes), smart-contracts and multi-sig wallets. So if you have those, don't restore with seed words.
hanks for the headsup... guess I'm in for a "world of wait" then... I do have an SSD, but I originally symlinked the data storage from "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\byteball" to other storage due to space concerns... that other storage is an HDD. Undecided

And yes, unfortunately I went the "full node"... I've kinda been regretting it ever since tbh... I think I'll setup up a new light node and move things around once I get this all synced up again.

Also make sure you update your witness list, it has change quite lot, so after a while the wallet will run out of options to find parent units.
Thanks for the heads-up.

Ok team... I've been out of the loop with OByte for over a year. I have a "backup" of the old sqlite files...

And I also have the original seed words for my wallet... am I likely to be able to fully recover everything (ie. blackbytes and tokens etc)?

Well it finally finished the database work and now it's syncing from the beginning of last month.
WTF???

-Dave

That's normal if you have full node, there was no syncing while converting, but it looks like you are very close to catch up now.

No problem with that, but it was current when I installed the new version on March 8th.
It went back to early Feb for the download. Possibly earlier, I don't know when it finished the update and started to download the chain vs. when I actually checked on it.

Another 2 days and still going.
@tarmo888 as you said task manager shows that obyte is still running.
Going to let it sit and run unless someone else has another idea.

-Dave

Do you have HDD or SSD?

Still going....
It's an SSD but an older one.
I could move it to something faster but I guess that would mean starting from scratch.

Re-download and install the latest version again, there was small fix to the binary, which fix the issue for Windows full nodes.
https://github.com/byteball/obyte-gui-wallet/releases

That is the version I am running. Downloaded it Saturday when it was posted.
Still going.....
-Dave

The binary for win32/win64 was updated on Monday, version stayed the same, please re-download.

Come on, why would anyone do that?
The only time I don't even do a .001 revision number change is if it's just a text file change that has no important info.

Updated Wed afternoon (probably about 3 or 4 hours after your post) and it's still going Friday AM. So that was not it.

Client restarts or OS restarts or both? I am working on 5 or 6 times now of the client restart.

-Dave

Client restarts. It went on for a couple of days iirc. Something - probably task manager - convinced me that it was making progress.
