Now the series has finished and in this series, we have seen too many up and downs for both teams. First of all I will start with a reminder of T20 matches from where it all started.

The first T20 match in which Surya Kumar was the captain of the team and also for the first time Gautum Gambhir became the coach for any tour for the Indian team.
We have three T20I matches that was played in this series in which good performance by the Sri Lanka team but can’t win any match. The first match T20 was not good for the Sri Lanka team, after that in the second match the Sri Lanka performed very poorly once again and lost it too.

In the third match, we saw progress in the Sri Lanka team but with hard luck, the match went through the Super over and once again it was won by the Indian team. However, the Sri Lankan team started to gain momentum and we saw this momentum in the ODI series and finally, they won the ODI series.

Losing to Sri Lanka is simply not acceptable. Had they lost to teams such as Australia or England, or for that matter South Africa or New Zealand, we could have still found some excuse. But how can anyone justify the Indian team losing to Sri Lanka? And this was a full strength squad, which comprised of legends such as Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav and Rohit Sharma. The top order of the Sri-Lankan team is very strong and today it was too useful but at the start of the match, as you know, it is ODI then up and downs are here. However, in today’s match, the Sri-Lankan team had a great start but later they faced some problems in the middle order but already their openers made a reasonable score and gave them a good lead. The first wicket fell at 89 when Pathum Nissanka
was dismissed and the 2nd wicket fell at 171 when Avishka Fernando lost his wicket. But this is a super performance by these two openers.

The Indian team gave too poor performance and they were losing wickets back to back. By the way, at the start of the series, there was no one who was even able to say India could lose it because they have amazing history in 2024 World Cup and in the other matches, as they won the World Cup while on the other side their opponent Sri Lanka even out from the super 8s. They can’t even reach to the group stages in the World Cup but now the greatest come back ever is here by the team of Sri Lanka. Today I am sure, that every single person who bet on the Indian team from the last two matches is been very disappointed right now.

I agree with you. Indian management has major faults. Rohit and Kohli cannot be replaced. Although they have performed poorly in a few matches, they are needed in the squad. Because both are very experienced players. Moreover, despite Kohli's performance being erratic, Rohit Sharma managed to bat well in every match. So there was a need to keep these two players in the squad.

But I don't understand why Shubman Gill, Iyer and Shivam Dube were kept in the squad in all three matches. These three batsmen have batted badly in all three matches. As the Indian team management had options for these players. So they should have hoped for a change in the squad in the last match. Had the squad made changes, and given opportunities to young players, perhaps the Indian team would not have been beaten by a huge margin of 110 runs in the last match. By the way today Washington Sundar played 10 times better than the other players in his team. Today he played at the level of Rohit Sharma and made some important runs for the team but until that time, they were not needy of those runs because the Indian team accepted their loss.

But India is a bit unlucky. It is difficult for Colombo to bat well in the second innings on this pitch. But in every match, India batted in the second innings and as usual batted badly. Today I would really like to give credit to the Sri Lankan playing performance that they have developed such a beautiful game in ODI matches. In the T20 series we have seen that Sri Lanka team performed very poorly against India but in the ODI match they are playing brilliantly against India. Sri Lanka scored 248 runs in 3rd ODI match, losing 7 wickets, and I am very happy to see today's score which is such a good batting performance in Sri Lanka. However, in order to meet the target of 249 runs, India gave a very poor batting performance, they lost their important wickets very soon and are currently under pressure.
