Japan put up a decent performance. First they were struggling at 35/8, but then added 40 more runs for the last two wickets thanks to Charles Hinze and Kiefer Lake. And while bowling, they managed to take 3 Sri Lankan wickets, with Kiefer Lake taking two and Kazuma Kato-Stafford taking one. Not a very bad performance from someone who is playing in a major ACC tournament for the first time. Japan has two more matches remaining, against Bangladesh and United Arab Emirates and I hope that they will be able to improve upon their performance.

Everyone knew that the Japan U19 team would not win Asia Cup but they should have tried, and I can't believe that the Japan U19 team all out on just 70 runs, know they small team but they have some standards, I think they are happy that at least they play this Asia Cup, they just made 70 runs in 30 overs and all out on just 70 runs against Sri Lanka, I don't know that Sri Lanka team is brilliant or Japan U19 team is just a newbie team. I think the Sri Lanka U19 team is better than their original team.

Jamshid Zadran batting well scored 43 runs in 75 balls, unfortunately miss his well deserved fifty by 7 runs short. The results came as expected. Anything contrary to that would have been a surprise. The scores of 150+ made by both the underdog teams were respectable. Both of the team were able to take 3 wickets of the stronger side. No doubt India and Pakistan would come up as the qualifying team of the group and eventually meet in the finals.

Today there's two matches in the group B. Bangladesh vs UAE and Sri lanka vs Japan. It should be a easy win for both of the test playing teams. UAE might be able to give a good game compared to Japan.
