I am not watching much of ODI after the world cup, but it seems teams started their tours across countries already.

England still needs time to up their morale from what happened in their world cup journey and it much be a devastating few months for them and they are doing okay at the moment but need to do a lot of work to regain what they lost in the last two months.

Their second match started just earlier and England start with an early wicket.

No doubt, West Indies is legendary team. West Indian team has big monsters and that kind of players are not present is whole the univers except West Indies. But after winning 2016 World Cup,West Indian Cricket changed the squard for many times and big players were removed from the team like Darin Sammy and Pollard . These two players were the back bone of West Indian Cricket team . And after removing these players , team became very weak . West Indian team didn't perform well in World cup 2021 and West Indian team didn't qualify for World cup 2023.West Indian Cricket board should provide facilities to students and in this way they will be successful.

It is difficult to make predictions based on rankings in cricket. Those who favor England based on their ranking in the last match they lost. Due to poor performance of the West Indies team, they did not qualify for the last World Cup. Maybe they want to burn differently from that bitter experience. They performed well in the last match. I had predicted though that Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer would have a chance to win if they performed well and they did. But today England team has won the toss and decided to field. It will be a disaster for West Indian cricket, if the WICB follows the same approach.

@synchronym how can you blame the player’s when the WI board was paying them peanuts to play for the national team and on top of that the team often wasn’t given the best facilities hence I sympathise with the player’s. Furthermore if England lose today then I feel that the selectors may roll in changes because they’ll want England to immediately recover in this format.

Now this all needs a good global debate between Boards and ICC with League organizers as well because if they will not sit on one platform things will be gone from bad to worse for them in coming years even I am not expecting anything positive from the ICC but still relative boards needs to work on this issue and sit with their players for the better future of their national teams otherwise we can expect things like this from many countries which ruin West Indian board.

BCCI and CA are the strongest boards which can handle this all by themselves and other boards are not having finances and strength like them, but they are looking for better and positive things which are important, hopefully all stakeholders will sit and bring better policies and rules for their own and bright future of this game.

Rehan Ahmad was the pick of bowlers from England side all others having good punishment from West Indian batting specially Shai Hope which is the most consistent bowler and Romário Shepherd done good job at the end for the winning team West Indies also needs to work on their bowling if they want to work on their strong comeback in cricketing world.
