Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat early in today's match. Sri Lanka took 51 runs without losing any wicket in 10 overs of Powerplay but currently Sri Lanka's collection in 23 overs is 137 runs losing 1 wicket. At the moment, Sri Lanka will easily cross 320 runs if they continue till 50 overs. If Sri Lanka can give a target of 320 runs to Australia, it does not seem that Australia can break the target of 320 runs and beat Sri Lanka today. I don't think Australia can get back to that previous phase in this World Cup. However, it is not right to make assumptions as any playground incident can happen at any moment.

I thought Sri Lanka would give 280+ target today. Because their two openers Nissanka and Kusal Perera collected 61 and 78 runs respectively. But even then no other batsmen of the Sri Lankan squad could bat well. Apart from Charith's 25 runs, no other batsman can collect even 10 runs. And finally Sri Lanka's innings stopped at just 209 runs. I don't think it is possible to beat an opponent like Australia by giving such a low target. Because today Australia are desperate to win. Australia desperately need a win in today's match after two successive defeats.
We haven't seen better batting today than two of Australia's most important batsmen, Warner and Smith. Warner returned to the dressing room with 11 runs and Smith failed to score any runs. Mitchell Marsh was dismissed for 52 runs. Australia has now collected 121 runs after losing 3 wickets.

Even in yesterday's match, Afghanistan started out great with a big opening partnership but their middle order were able to keep on building partnerships against England and finally it ended up being one of the biggest upset in World Cup history but today Sri Lanka was on a similar situation but then the rest of the batsman failed to make any impact and in reply Mitchell Marsh played an incredible innings when others were finding it difficult to play and Australia should win from this situation as the target is not that huge.

It is still better than what Pakistan's batters did when they played against India. Srilanka still got to a respectable total if I compare their batting with Pakistan, who have far better batters than Srilanka. The Srilankan bowlers have got 2 early wickets of David Warner and Marsh, which can help them to defend a low target. The chance of winning this game is low for Srilanka but you cannot forget what happened yesterday with England. They lost wickets so quickly because of the rain interruption as it would have led to moisture on the pitch which might have made it worse for the Srilankan batters to bat.

Australia need just 101 runs to win this easy match with seven wickets in hand and 30 overs remaining. Australia lost the first two wickets in quick succession before Mitchell Marsh was run out after a superb 50 and returned to the pavilion. Had Mitchell Marsh not been out, Australia would have scored more runs. With 7 wickets still in hand and needing just 101 runs to win, it is only a matter of time for Australia to win this match. The way the Australian batsmen started getting out in the first place almost made this match difficult. If Australia win this match, they will see victory in the third match after two consecutive matches. It is very important for Australia to win this match because they definitely need a team like Australia to fight against big teams like England India New Zealand.

The way Sri Lanka were batting at the start, it looked like they would be able to score enough runs today to cross the 300 mark. However, after 21 overs played in a great partnership, wickets fell in 22 overs and from then on Sri Lanka got frustrated and started putting up a poor batting performance. It was envisaged that Sri Lanka would have amassed a much bigger score if they had held on in the batting form they were in today. However, Sri Lanka did well in the beginning but could not do well in the end and were all out for 209 runs. They could not give Australia a big target. Coming into bat in the second innings, Australia lost two of their great batsmen, which made their team somewhat normal. And now Mitchell Marsh has lost another valuable wicket as the run rate has started to slow down since he got out. If Sri Lanka can have a good bowling line-up, they can stop Australia, but I think Australia still have a chance to win the match. At the moment, Australia must bat well to win the match and Australia have collected 100 grams, for which they need 110 runs.

Sri Lanka's batting was excellent at the start, batting well till 21 overs. Sri Lanka's opening batting both played well, Kusal Perera 78, Pathum Nissanka 61 runs. After both of them got out, Sri Lanka's batting line-up became very poor. Wickets keep falling after 1-2 overs continuously. Apart from the opening batting pair, no one else could make a good pair. Kusal Mendis batted very well but got out for 8 runs in today's match. At the beginning, I thought Sri Lanka's batting would score 300 plus runs. But unable to hold on to the wicket, they were all out for 209 runs. Australia came back strong, with Adam Zampa single-handedly picking up 4 crucial wickets. Australia has already gone to bat and collected 15 runs in 1 over. Australia will win easily today.

What a turnaround in Lucknow! Sri Lanka started strong at 125/0 but ended up being bowled out for 209/10. Their batting performance drastically declined after a promising start, resembling Pakistan's struggle in the previous match.

Horrific batting display by Sri Lanka, but Aussie bowlers did an excellent job. Now, it's time for Aussie batters to step up and claim their first win.

It was similar to that of the previous match. Sri Lanka have ended its innings for 209 runs. The first wicket fell at 125, Nissanka and Perera made good partnership. Adam Zampa and Pat Cummins paved way for the bowling attack on Sri Lanka team. David Warner and Pat Cummins were really good at the fielding. Asalanka tried to score little runs from the tail end, but he could do it well. With this low score it isn't going to be hard competence for Australia to chase. As said in one of the posts, Australia will try to win the match at the earliest to improve its net runrate, because the close fight at the end of league is based on the net runrate and not much on the points.

Sirlanka Current score is 198 runs in loss of 7 wickets in 39 Overs. Australia bowling performance was amazing Adam Zampa bowling outstanding picked up 3 wicket by giving 46 runs in 7 Overs and pat Cummins also picked 2 wickets by giving 32 runs in his bowling spell. Srilanka poor batting performance they give easy wickets to Australia and its difficult to Sirlanka to cross 250 plus runs. The Target under 250 runs will be easily chase Australia have very good chance to win this match.

Sri Lanka started well today but later on they could not hold on to wickets. Their partnership was good when they scored 116 runs in 21 overs but could not score more runs in the match due to the fall of wickets later on. Since the dismissal of Pathum Nissanka, no batsman has been able to pair the game well and since then the wickets have fallen the most and the run rate has slowed down. At the moment Sri Lanka have lost 8 wickets, but their runs have not increased much. 8 for 199 Sri Lanka are under enough pressure at the moment and I think they will lose all their wickets very soon. They could have scored 300 runs if they could have played the game today but from this score they failed and it is not possible to increase their runs.
