Bangladesh vs New Zealand
The second ODI match of the series against bangladesh is going to be held shortly. New zealand won the toss and elected to bat . New zealand's batsmen did not play well in the first match. New zealand lost top order batsmen very quickly. However the match was abandoned due to rain . However in the previous series against England too, we saw poor performances from New Zealand players. Such a poor performance before the World Cup is risky.
The match is also likely to be delayed today due to rain . It seems to me that the Bangladesh team is the favorite on the pitch of Bangladesh. Also this team has done quite well in the last two matches. My guess is Bangladesh will be able to win today if the match is not delayed due to rain.
Even in today's match, New Zealand could not start their innings well. They lost the wicket of Will Young early on. Young failed to collect any runs from 8 balls. Like the previous match, Mustafiz is bowling very well today.
If the Bangladeshi bowlers can do the same kind of performance today as they showed dominance in the first match, their chances of winning will definitely increase. Even then we cannot say for sure which team will win. Because the performance of Bangladeshi batsmen is very erratic. I have seen many times that the Bangladesh team failed to win despite batting at a low target.
Three of New Zealand's top order batsmen returned to the dressing room very quickly. Finn Allen, Will Young and Chad Bowes did not play well. New Zealand lost three important batsmen in the top order to collect only 36 runs. The team collected only 49 runs in 11 overs.
The pitch is bowling friendly, it means that if they are able to provide a target like 220, the New Zealand players will be able to control the match. But looking at their batting, it doesn't look like the team will be able to collect more than 200. Unless Henry Nicholls and Tom Blundell's partnership is prolonged, New Zealand's chances of a big collection are slim.
