Pakistan vs New Zealand

Today is the 3rd ODI match between PAK vs NZ. And I am again thinking that Fakhar Zaman will show his power again. Both teams will try to win this match. Because if the Pakistan will win so the Pakistan will win the series with 3-0. And if the New Zealand will win so it has the ability to win the series if the team will win all remaining matches. My best wishes are with Pakistan. And the match will start in 2 hours. Smiley
New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl. Naturally they need a win in today's match otherwise they will lose the series. Currently Pakistan team is playing 44 overs. They have shown great skill in batting. Pakistan team score 233 in 44 overs. It is estimated that they will be able to score a total of 290  in 50 overs. But the victory in the match will depend on the New Zealand batting. If they can hold on to their wickets, New Zealand will have a chance to win the match.

Probably, today's match may be very difficult for New Zealand due to Pakistan's bowling action. As the series is a battle for survival, the game can be quite exciting. Fakhar Zaman has been the player of the match in the last two matches, but there is no possibility of that in the third ODI. His collection is only 19 in today's match.

I stand with Palestine.

@MusPK it seems that Pakistan is in control of this match as they have currently scored 183 runs in 35 overs and yet have 7 wickets left hence I feel that they can target at least 300+ runs towards the end of their innings. Also Imam is yet playing and I feel that he’ll reach his century very soon now and if he can survive till the end then it’ll definitely boost Pakistan’s chances of winning this game.
Now I think that the match is on 50 50 chances. Because Imamulhaq is now out on 90 runs. And now I am aspecting 250+ score. And I think this is also enough for the New Zealand team. If Pakistan will bowl well and try to catch more wickets of New Zealand team so we can see again win for Pakistan. I still have Best wishes for Pakistan. Smiley

Fakhar Zaman was out today on 19 runs. After 17 overs Pakistan score is 69, Imam is not out on 33 and Babar is on 14. Pakistan have won first two ODIs and they need one more game to win the series. PAKISTAN in recent years is not good on home series. They draw T20 series against this 2nd tier New Zealand team and this new Zealand squad has the capability to bounce back in ODI series. Pakistan need to be careful in remaining 3 ODIs.

Pakistan won the first two matches only because of the brilliant performance of their batsmen. I don't see a good performance from their bowlers in the two matches. Excellent batting by Fakhar Jama, Babar, and Rizwan enabled them to easily win the two matches. And if these three batsmen can play well in today's match too then Pakistan will be able to win today's match too. Today is the third match of the series of 5 matches. And Pakistan will win the series if they win today's match.
But I think New Zealand will win today. Pakistan won the first two matches of the T20 series. But they could not win the series. It doesn't look like Pakistan will win the ODI series so easily.

Property has improved a lot in Nepalese cricket. The people of their country are playing the biggest role behind their progress. There are many cricket lovers in Nepal who are constantly supporting the Nepalese team. Nepalese cricket fans and Nepalese cricketers have a big dream to play the World Cup. The way they are performing, it won't be too difficult for them to qualify for the World Cup. The way they have improved their cricket even without being directly affiliated with the ICC is really admirable. If you have watched the fielding of Nepali players then you will surely appreciate their game. All in all, Nepal is having a great time of cricket.

They should be proud of their achievements. They have reached this level thanks to their hard work alone. Neither the ICC, nor the BCCI have helped them in anyway. The disadvantage with Nepal is that they are not a very rich country. Only a few kind-hearted businessmen are currently helping the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to improve the infrastructure and to make regular payments to the national team players. But the general public loves cricket and as everyone saw, tens of thousands of fans waited with their umbrellas to watch the game between Nepal and UAE, despite the thunderstorms at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

Nepal won today's match quite easily. The Nepal team reached the target of victory in just 30.3 overs. Nepal collected 118 runs losing only 3 wickets. While UAE batsmen did not play well, Nepal batsmen's performance was very responsible. Gulsan Jha was unbeaten with 67 runs and Bhim Sharki had 36 runs. Nepal won mainly because of the excellent performance of these two batsmen. However, the Nepalese team is slowly becoming quite strong. They have some talented players on their team. I think if Nepal organizes more international matches then their players will become more experienced.
Nepal won the game so easily! The performance of emerging teams in international cricket is always exciting. The performances by Gulsan Jha and Bhim Sharki sound excellent and it is wonderful to see new talent rising through the ranks. Nepal has the potential to develop into a formidable side in international cricket and more chance to participate in competitive matches will enable them to obtain the necessary experience to contend with the greatest teams in the world. There is no doubt that Nepal will advance in the world of cricket with effort and commitment.

Teams like Nepal, UAE, and Namibia have become more interested in cricket. I would especially like to say that the Nepal and UAE teams are now quite strong. They have a lot of talented players in their squad. Now if these players are properly groomed I think they will become experienced. These players will gradually become more experienced and the performances of Nepal and UAE teams will stabilize and they will become stronger. I think in the next few years Nepal and UAE teams will challenge teams like Afghanistan, Ireland, and Bangladesh.

OK.. my bad. Misunderstanding from my side.

I thought that you were claiming that the massive crowd was there just because Nepal was playing on home ground. In that case I pointed out the thousands who supported the Nepal team in a match that was held at Dubai. Anyway, good to hear that we are having same opinion on this topic. I have constantly opposed the eligibility criteria from the ICC, which allows a national team to be comprised 100% of foreigners. I don't understand how they can call such a team as "national" team. Tomorrow I can ask 11 club players from my city to travel to Antarctica on tourist visa and then form the Antarctica national team.

Congratulations to Nepal for winning the Men's Premier Cup final against UAE. Its first time we are seeing that there is so much craze of cricket in Nepal and good thing is Nepal national team is also rising up in performance, they also recently finished 3rd in ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 2019-2023. I just feel that very soon Nepal will play there first ODI or T20 World Cup.

It is true that the Zimbabwe players get lot less money compared to their counterparts in West Indies or Sri Lanka. The reason is that most of the funds that are provided to Zimbabwe cricket get stolen by corrupt officials. In the end, the players get only some leftovers. I still remember one of the Zimbabwe national player complaining that they have to play matches with damaged boots. The problem with ICC is multi-fold. First they shower undeserving teams such as Zimbabwe, UAE and USA with tons of money. And then they fail to ensure that this money is properly utilized.

One thing I fail to decide is the corrupt officials of Zimbabwe not providing the team with enough money, is that the fault of the ICC? I don't think so. But just because it is not the problem of ICC doesn't mean that they cannot do anything in this matter. ICC basically does not have any headaches in this regard.

I believe they are thinking the same way that it is not their problem. But if ICC does take any steps against the corrupt officials of the Zimbabwe cricket board I believe almost 70% of the problems will be solved instantly. But are they going to do that? Without the interference of ICC, the Zimbabwe cricket board will stay the same.

It was actually really great to see so much support for the Nepal cricket team. I have to say to the ICC that this is what happens when a team with native players plays well and shows promise. This type of support was never going to be shown to a team that is made up of foreign players. And that is exactly the reason why we see a big difference between the support of Nepal and the UAE. I understand that it is not the ground of UAE. It is the home ground of Nepal.
I disagree with the last part.
Two months back, there was a match between Nepal and the United Arab Emirates which was a part of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2. There were thousands of fans attending this match. And despite the fact that the matches were being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, I could not find a single UAE supporter. All of the spectators were supporting Nepal (mostly migrant workers from that country). And this is the sad reality for teams with no native players (such as the UAE). Not even the players are interested in winning the matches, because they themselves are supporters of India and Pakistan. And none of the UAE citizens are interested in these matches, because according to them the team is comprised of a bunch of Indians and Pakistanis.

I don't understand what you are actually disagreeing with. You are saying everything similar to what I have said. I meant that the team which is going to be made out of foreign players are never going to get the love and support from the country that any other team will get which is made out of native players. That's what I was trying to say.

I understand that the UAE is in this for business. But as long as they do not have an actual "national team" they are actually not going to get the support. They are also not going to improve. Because no one is passionate about playing for the UAE. Because they are not the citizens of UAE.

What I am trying to say is that the support has to come from somewhere. ICC is not helping them. Neither is the government. So what are they supposed to do?

Of course, ICC has shown to look into this and try to help them as much as possible, which ICC is capable of. We have seen Zimbabwe getting a lot more money compared to Nepal from the ICC. And the Zimbabwe team is still often seen crying in the media that they are not getting enough money. Imagine how these associate teams feel.

I absolutely understand that government funding is probably not expected in this situation. But if they want to improve, some type of funding is certainly expected and that has to come from somewhere.

I expected better performance from UAE. The UAE team managed to collect only 117 runs. A very poor performance given a target of only 118 runs in 50 overs. I don't think Nepali bowlers are very experienced either. Asif Khan was able to collect maximum of 46 runs for UAE. Besides, we don't see any better performance from any other batsman in the squad. UAE is likely to lose today's match.

Nepal lost the wicket of opener Kushal after collecting 1 run in 1.2 overs. Target is too low. If Nepali batsmen can bat responsibly then they will have no problem in winning this match. They should just try to stay at the crease.
The pitch is offering a lot of assistance to the spinners and the Nepali batsmen are also finding it very hard to score runs. Yesterday, rain started at around 11am. Today also thunderstorms are predicted and that means that Nepal has around 15 overs in their hand. They need to score at 6.5 runs per over, but the current run rate is around 3 per over. And till now, they have lost 2 wickets. Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh are gone, with Rohan Mustafa and Aayan Afzal Khan picking up the wickets respectively. Nepal needs to be careful here. If they lose too many wickets, then they will fall behind on DLS par score.

Hope that Nepal government will recognize the achievements of this cricket team and provide them with the necessary resources and support to continue improving.
You can't expect government funding for cricket, when it is not an Olympic sport. In none of the countries (including India and Pakistan), the national cricket boards receive any sort of assistance from the government. But the problem is that the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) doesn't receive much support from the ICC either. They receive funds worth $200,000 per year from the ICC, while boards such as Zimbabwe cricket receive 12 million USD per year. Since they are participating in the Asia Cup, they can expect a small increase in fund allocation from the ACC. But then, the ACC is nowhere as rich as the ICC.

Nepal team has been playing impressive cricket recently, and results are there for all to see. UAE failed to live up to their potential, but Nepal put on a great performance and really showed what they're worthy to win. I would say that Nepal is one of the strongest associate team out there right now. They have a great balance across all departments, which is crucial for success. This Nepal team is playing with a lot of passion and determination. Their recent qualification for the Asia Cup is a testament to their hard work paying off.

Hope that Nepal government will recognize the achievements of this cricket team and provide them with the necessary resources and support to continue improving.
Nepal team progress is really impressive. In the past few months we saw a great progress in this team. And in the final match of ACC United Arab Emirates team performed really bad or you can say final match pressure was interfering. Only 117 runs was not enough to win. By the way Congratulations to the Nepal team they tried really well in the whole premium cup.

Nepali players are not batting as badly as UAE batsmen. Had UAE been able to deliver a target of even 160 on this pitch, it would have been a good enough collection to contend with. But victory is not possible with a target of only 118 runs. Nepal lost their first three batsmen very quickly. They lost three wickets for just 22 runs. But Gulsan Jha and Bhim Sharki are doing the responsible batting. At the moment, Nepal's collection is 94 runs. The team needs only 24 runs to win. Gulsan Jha scored 49 runs and Bhim Sharki scored 23 runs to remain unbeaten.

Congratulations to the Nepali team on this remarkable victory and qualifying for Asia Cup. Despite losing their top order quickly, Gulsan Jha 67 runs and Bhim Sharki 36 runs not out responsible batting led the team to a comfortable victory. the Player of the Match award for his outstanding performance Gulshan Jha for his destructive knock of 67 runs and the crucial wicket that helped Nepal lift the trophy with a thumping win against UAE.
