Sirlankan performance is towards downfall , last year they were really good in Asia cup intact they won the trophy .
After that they didn't maintain the game and lost all important ones , there is great capability in their players if the work on their skills .

Setting the New Zealand team a target of 275, the Sri Lankan team lost all wickets in just 19.5 overs and managed to muster just 76 runs. New Zealand won by 198 runs. The second match was abandoned due to rain. The third match is also likely to be abandoned. The match will be held in Hamilton. And the weather is not very good. Perhaps this match may also be declared abandoned. But even if the match takes place, I think Sri Lanka will lose badly. Because the state of their party is very bad now. The match surely would entertaining but Srilanka would be in immense pressure. If they are able to handle pressure and play exceptionally well then I am sure they will win the match. Still it won't be easy for them to directly qualify as the South African team only need to win one match against Netherland.

@Sithara007 there’s a very slim chance of your predictions coming through, but then upsets happen all the time so maybe Srilanka will stun the Kiwis and Netherland will stun SA. @pakhittheboss what odds are you seeing for Srilanka, because I’m expecting really good odds for them as New Zealand will obviously be the favourites and thus was thinking of taking a risk and wagering on Srilanka if the odds are decent.

Sri Lanka's team has weakened since the retirement of star players like Sangakkara and Malinga. They cannot find a suitable replacement. And yet their group is not stable. The team has several talented players. But no player's performance is stable. This is why they play well in one match and lose badly in the next match. We have seen Sri Lanka perform like this for the last few years. And it is unlikely that Sri Lanka's performance will improve any time soon.

After the retirement of main players like Sangakkara and Malinga the SriLankan cricket team is facing probles. They have competed to find acceptable replacements which has led to uncertainty and unpredictability within the team in spite of having talented players SriLanka have failed to maintain good form or firmness in matches. This has resulted in their decline in internetional cricket and improvemant will require outstanding efforts by team management to identify and develop players who can consistently perform at the top level.

Much reforms are required within the team. Only through that it is possible to make players have consistency in performance which is much important with ODI format cricket. With T20 matches, someone at his best can bring up the team. Similar situation doesn't happen with ODI. As said consistency is a big lack with Sri Lanka team. In its previous series against India, in the first match team scored 300+ runs and lost the match. In the second match scored 215 runs and lost the match and in the third match while chasing the target of 390 runs the team scored just 73 runs which shows the real problem with consistency in performance.

If the two have failed then the score might be less than 150 runs which could've been a easy target for Papua New Guinea. For PNG Doriga and Ura contributed good, but the same didn't bring them win as the middle order completely failed to perform.

And the problem of Papua New Guinea was when they started losing wickets, there could not form any kind of partnership. They lost one after another. They had a 146 run partnership for the opening pair. But after that there was nothing to really speak about.

UAE just score 260 in 50th overs with a two of thier player almost score century, at this moment we taught that it's a easy win for United Arab Emirates but unfortunately it's not because Papua New Guinea opener are on fire they hit big short from first ball and due to that reason they score 109 in 15th over with a current runrate of 7.27 which were they too high from required run rate, while interesting thing is that they don't even lose a single wicket against UAE, which indicates that PNG will do everything to win this match.
Now the required runs is around 150 runs in 35th overs

I didn't think UAE would get to the 260 that they got. Especially after them losing wickets early. But it was of course a great performance from them to actually get to the 260 that they have got. I am actually a little surprised to see Papua New Guinea play so well in the second innings. They have already got 168 at the loss of five wickets. And only 28.1 overs have been played. They need less than 4 runs per over now. With 5 wickets in hand that is very much achievable, I think.

However, PNG made a strong start against the UAE, and at one point appeared to be dominating the game. Unfortunately for them, back-to-back wickets caused their momentum, and allowing the UAE to regain their confidence. As it stands now, both teams seem to have an equal chance of winning this match. UAE just need 2 wickets, while PNG must go on. But, I'm finding it quite fascinating to follow.

There is no doubt that UAE batted very well. But only two players batted well. With the help of Muhammad Washeem and Afzal Khan's excellent innings, UAE managed to collect 260 runs. But Papua New Guinea's batting surprised me. I knew this team's batting line-up was weak. But today they are playing very well. PNG now need 25 runs off 18 balls to win. PNG is unlikely to win. Because they lost 8 wickets. No experienced batsman at the crease now. But despite losing this match I would say PNG played well. The team may become more experienced in the future.
