Now it looks like Sri Lanka has been kicked out of the direct qualification scenario. New Zealand just need another 32 runs in 22 overs. The 5th wicket partnership between Will Young and Will Young have added 67 runs and more importantly they are scoring runs at a very brisk pace. So Sri Lanka will finish below West Indies in points table for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League. Now the next match is very important. Netherlands will take on South Africa at Willowmoore Park, Benoni, and the match will start in around 4 hours from now. South Africa needs to win just one out of the remaining two matches, to gain direct qualification to the 2023 ODI World Cup.

I think South Africa need to win both of there matches against Netherlands because a single win will make there points equal to West Indies which is 88. If South Africa win both matches then there points will be 98 and they will be moved to number 8 spot (my understanding is that top 8 teams qualify directly for ODI WC). Netherlands is not a tough team to beat and South Africa just need to be careful in both matches. Sri lanka must have won 2 of there recent matches but they lost both miserably.

We all knew that they would be kicked out from direct qualification. You were still having hope on a hopeless team. They have literally gone from bad to worse and I still feel it won't be easy for them when they play for qualification round in the month of June. Who knows they might not even beat WI at that time.

Sirlanka was disastrous in their batting now balling wise they are trying to take wickets , pitch is definitely not for batters as Newzealand have already lost 4 wickets kn 52 runs.
Newzealand has plenty of overs left and run chase is too small , If Sirlanka didn't take wickets than this Is a clear win for Kiwis.

New Zealand just lost another wicket, and they still need another 94 runs to win from 34 overs. They have enough overs to chase the target, but they are rapidly running out of batsmen. Now Henry Nicholls has joined Will Young out there in the middle, while Rachin Ravindra is supposed to come next. If they get one more wicket, then Sri Lanka maybe in an advantageous position. Lahiru Kumara has taken 2 wickets so far, and the last wicket to fall (Tom Latham) was picked up by the right-arm medium pacer Dasun Shanaka.
Will Young 79 runs saved Newzealand from any tough situation along with Henry Nicholls their partnership lifted Newzealand up.
Sirlanka is not in tough spot as they have lost this match.

In the next 1 hour or so, we will get to know whether Sri Lanka needs to participate in the qualifier tournament to get in to the 2023 ODI World Cup. They are on the backfoot as of now, as New Zealand just need another 103 runs to win from 36.3 overs. At one point New Zealand was at 21/3, but then they recovered thanks to the 4th wicket partnership between Will Young and Tom Latham. They have plenty of batting down the order, in the form of Henry Nicholls and Rachin Ravindra. The Lankan bowlers are trying their best to take wickets BTW.
If Sri Lanka fate of making it to ODI world cup depends on this match then they will defiantly play qualify round as just 71 more runs are required by New Zealand in 28 overs with lots of wickets left behind. Sri Lankan batsmen were not able to play New Zealand pace attack - Matt Henry and Henry Shipley as both picked 3 wickets each. Only Pathum Nissanka was able to score 56 runs and there is some contribution from tail other then that its complete batting failure today. Even if Sri Lanka make it to ODI WC then with this performance they have rear chances of making it to next round.

Sri Lanka played two matches in this series and one match was abandoned due to rain. We have seen Sri Lanka batting badly in both matches. Sri Lankan batsmen felt helpless against New Zealand's pace attack. Matt Henry, Shipley, and Daryl Mitchel each took three wickets. All three pace bowlers destroyed Sri Lanka's batting line-up. The target of only 158 runs is not possible to win against New Zealand. Because they are in good form now. New Zealand scored 116 runs. Will Young remains unbeaten on 75 runs. New Zealand needs 42 runs in 24 overs to win.

BlackCaps did a great jobs! They truly outstanding on the field with their exceptional bowling performance, ultimately helps leading the team in front. Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, and Henry Shipley each displayed their impressive skills by taking three wickets apiece. As a result, Sri Lankan batters suffered and bowled out for just 157 runs. New Zealand just only need 158 runs to win. While defending a small total, Sri Lankan blowers made an impressive start by taking 3 early wickets.

New Zealand won the first match by 198 runs. And in this match it is understood that the batting line-up of the Sri Lankan team is very shaky. And in today's match also we saw Sri Lanka's bad batting. But the pitch is bowling friendly. Had Sri Lanka managed to score 200 today, they would have won. But they gave a target of only 158 runs. Even then the match will become competitive if the bowlers are able to bowl with control. New Zealand lost three crucial wickets to collect 53 runs. They should bat carefully.

Sri Lanka won the toss today and elected to bat first. They are now at 7/0 after 1.2 overs.
Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat. So far they have collected 103 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 25.4 overs. They are very under pressure now. They now have to hold on to wickets or they may be all out before 200 runs. Angelo Mathews and Kushal Mendis were dismissed for no runs.

Sri Lanka's chances of scoring 200 runs are very slim. Sri Lanka managed to collect 144 runs after losing 8 wickets. For Sri Lanka, opener Pathum Nissanka was able to score the maximum 57 runs. Unfortunately, he ran out and returned to the dressing room. It seems Sri Lanka will lose all wickets between 160-180. Matt Henry bowled brilliantly. Bowling 9 overs, he gave only 13 runs and was able to take 3 wickets. Daryl Mitchell and Henry Shipley also bowled well.

8 wickets down just for 135 runs. You can't expect anything from this Srilankan side. To add to thier misery they won the toss and choose to bat first. What were they thinking? Only a miracle from Srilankan bowler can help them. Another match completely dominated by the Kiwis team. This not even the full Kiwi side and still they playing so good.

Today is one of the most crucial days as far the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League is concerned. Sri Lanka are playing their last match in the league, against New Zealand. If they win this match, then they will end up with 91 points. But the problem for them is that South Africa has 78 points and they have two matches remaining against Netherlands. So in case they win both these matches, then they will end up with 98 points and qualify ahead of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka won the toss today and elected to bat first. They are now at 7/0 after 1.2 overs.

Lol, always hilarious to look at these team's roaster. It seems like local teams from India and Pakistan are playing against each other in some C- Grade club tournament.

It tells you how ICC works in general, they just want to tap the potential market, and that's it. Spreading the game is the last thing on their mind but will surely do all the virtue signaling.

Agreed, the two teams having majority of the Indian and Pakistan players give such a look. Just went through the match details between the two teams, even the pics resemble it to be a match between two Asian teams, there is no touch of America.

ICC wants to bring the grown countries into cricket. It works on it, and succeeded in it. Similar is the scenario of Canada cricket team.

I think it's high time that we can conclude that Cricket is a game of Asians and it cannot be popular in the western world. Yes, if ICC wants to introduce more teams like USA or Canada, they won't be able to find native players in the team. However, there are many immigrants in these countries from India and Pakistan, who will make full use of this situation and will try to represent these countries.

If ICC makes rules that only native players need to be included in the national team, then the situation can be different but then where will these nations get the native players  Huh

Being a native born citizen of the United States makes Setija a unique player on a team where many of his teammates were not born in the United States and may not hold U.S citizenship. This diversity brings a unique aspect to the game showing how cricket is a global game that brings people from different backgrounds together. It is also worth noting that UAE players do not have any citizenship ties to the country yet they show it in the game. The United States team hard fought win and their remaining matches add an element of suspense to the tournament and keep the audience engaged. It will be exciting to see how they perform in the next matches and if they make it to the next round of the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers.

UAE and Oman teams are made up of players that are mostly from Pakistan or India. The Gulf countries policy is very strict in provision of citizenship. Teams like UAE and Oman are making cricket a joke by proving that you can make a national team that can play even World Cup and doesn't have any native player. Top 2 teams from this tournament will play World Cup Qualifier, so far Namibia and Canada are at the top.

Sri Lanka vs New Zealand
The third match of the Sri Lanka vs New Zealand ODI series will start today. Sri Lanka lost the first match by a huge margin of 198 runs. New Zealand batted first and set a target of 275. With a target of 275 runs to win, Sri Lanka came down to bat and were all out for 76 runs. The second match was abandoned due to rain. They will perform well at home. I think New Zealand will probably win today's match. Who do you think will win today's match?

USA is in good position after 36 overs, scoring 188 runs losing the openers wickets. 92 runs from 84 balls will be easily reached by USA. The player who is taking USA towards the win, Saiteja Mukkamalla have scored 69* runs and he's just 18 years of age. The match between USA and UAE can be considered equally, because both the teams were of players with India and Pakistan origin than the natives.

In case of Saiteja Mukkamalla, he was born in Plainsboro, New Jersey. So he is a native born citizen of the United States. But the same can't be said about other players such as Shayan Jahangir, Monank Patel, Gajanand Singh and Jessy Singh. And in case of the United Arab Emirates, none of the players have citizenship of that country, and none of the them were born there. It was a very hard-fought win for the United States. They have two matches remaining, and probably need to win both the matches to qualify for the next round (2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier).
