Naseem Shah got Finn Allen in the first over and now Devon Conway and Kane Williamson are trying to steady the innings. New Zealand looks shaky, after their loss on Monday. They have brought in Ish Sodhi to replace Henry Shipley. What is the point in doing that, when Shipley was brought in to the team and given just one match? And Ish Sodhi is someone who has a bowling average of 43 in tests and 35 in ODIs. What is the point in sustaining with such a bowler and giving him preference over a promising young player?

Pakistan vs New Zealand
Already the toss was done and New Zealand won the toss and they decided to bat. In the last match too, New Zealand batted first and could not score well in front of the Pakistani bowlers and could not beat the Pakistani batsmen in the bowling either. And overall they lost the match.  And since there is no change in the team squad even today, I think that since Pakistan are playing at their home ground, they might be favored in this match as well.
So I will put Pakistan ahead on my prediction in this match as well and I think they will win this match and confirm the winner of this ODI series with New Zealand.

What a match it was between India and Sri Lanka. Fans love to see those high-scoring matches. I could not watch the match, but I will watch the highlights. I assume the whole match is a Highlight. Rohit and Gill give India a flying start. Kohli was outstanding as well. Sri Lanka did not give up, and they also tried their best. Congrats India.

I was expecting some sort of fightback from the Lankans considering the pitch was really good to bat on.

But they really bend the knee and hardly showed any intent in the powerplay and middle order. Even centurion Dasun Shanaka was playing half heartedly and only accelerated his inning when the match was almost dead. Siraj is turning out to be a real wicket taker in the powerplay and he's making a habit of getting early breakthroughs for the team.
I didn't expect any proper fightback from Sri Lanka since there aren't many great players in their team at present. Hasaranga is literally the only player that I remember properly thanks to his epic bowling skills.

India will whitewash the Lankans in my opinion since majority of their players are in great form. Also, Kohli keeps rocking and 156 kph thunderbolt from Malik was stunning.
Well, it's a high scoring ground and traditionally Sri Lanka has performed well here.

I was checking some stats and one time India made a mammoth total of 400+ runs at the same ground and Sri Lanka lost the match by just 3 runs.
Sirlanka played very well yesterday,  their hard luck was that their openers and middle order couldn't make any runs only Dhasun Shanaka scored a century.  Overall they fought hard till the end, Indians overall dominated and 0layed good that's why they havewon the match.

@JSRAW while Srilanka lost the match but they yet managed to score 300+ runs against India which is a very strong statement, because while Srilanka doesn’t have any star batman India had their best bowler’s yet they couldn’t contain Srilankan batsmen from scoring 300+ run’s.

Furthermore if Srilanka bowler’s can restrict India to a lower score in the next match then we could see them beat team India, therefore I believe that it’s too early to declare that team India will win this series easily.
The match was not one sided at all , sirlanka despite of a struggling team made 300+ runs and tried to chase the runs till the end so that's not fair to give all credit to India.
Yes Indians did good and they won the game but both of them did something.

I couldn't find much positives in their performance yesterday. India was without many of their senior players and still Sri Lanka conceded a massive total of close to 400. In the end, they lost by a big margin, despite managing to score more than 300. And Sri Lanka really need to perform well in the ODI format. Their automatic qualification to the 2023 ODI World Cup is not yet guaranteed. These matches are not part of the ODI super league (their remaining matches are against New Zealand), but even then the signals are not good for their future.

I am not sure about their qualifications to the ODI world cup but I am sure from this series that Sri Lanka needs huge developments in their bowling lineups, I am even not sure what is ongoing in cricket as every team is in the mode of T20 for proof Latest Test series performances by teams. For another format, this is not a big deal but for T20I people in Asia are crazy. T20I performances are actually entertaining and thrilling.

I stand with Palestine.
Pakistan VS Newzealand

The second ODI between these two teams will be played today. After an impressive performance by the Pakistan team in the first ODI, the Kiwis would be eager to beat them in the second match. Naseem Shah was the main reason why Pakistan was able to restrict the Kiwi's total. I am expecting Newzealand to uplift thier batting ability today. Toss would again play a crucial role in today's game.
The team who wins the toss will decide to bowl. However, the way New Zealand collapsed in the first match is unlikely to happen in the second match. But I will also agree that those who win the toss will be ahead to win. If New Zealand's top order is able to keep wickets and bat in today's match, they will be able to take the lead in the match. I think New Zealand can win this match. As the top order batsman
Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Kane Williamson and Tom Latham these four cricketers need to perform well if then want to save this series.
Todays match is really important which will decide that New Zealand will make series 1-1 or Pakistan will lead and win the series. Pakistan were good in the last match and I hope Pakistan will play well in this match too. In the Test matches Pakistan performed really weak but in ODI team is leading with 1-0.

New Zealand is forced to play some of their inexperienced bowlers (Henry Shipley, Michael Bracewell.etc), as a number of their main bowlers are unavailable as a result of injury (Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne). Trent Boult is no longer interested in bilateral tours and is focusing mainly on franchise T20 leagues such as the BBL (playing for Melbourne Stars this season). The inclusion of Mitchell Santner has boosted their spin attack, as he is much more experienced compared to other options such as Ajaz Patel and Ish Soshi.

Virat kohli has given answers to all those who said he's not in form.
It is true that Virat Kohli was out of form for a long time.  He went through the cricket years 2020, 2021 and 2022 with very poor performances for a long time.  To say that he had only one century in Test cricket in these three years.

The Indian Cricket Board as well as the cricket loving people of India cannot easily accept that a world-class player like Virat Kohli will score a century in Tests only in the last three years.  So Virat Kohli has been heavily criticized in various circles for the last three years.  Virat Kohli, who is unimaginable in current cricket, scored a century against Sri Lanka yesterday after three years.

Virat Kohli's last Test century was on 22 November 2019 against Bangladesh but after that Virat Kohli did not see any new century in Tests.
Last scored a century in ODI cricket on 10 January 2023 against Sri Lanka.
On April 19, 2019, he scored a century in IPL against Kolkata Knight Riders, then Virat Kohli did not see a century in IPL again.  However, scoring a century in the T20 format is not an easy task.  In case IPL and T20 does not carry so much significance.
Virat Kohli completed his latest t20 career century by scoring a century against Afghanistan in this year's T20 World Cup on 8 September 2022.  Then Virat Kohli was not in good form in T20.

That was in 2009, when we had legendary players like Sehwag, Sachin & Dhoni. Sehwag was the higest scorer in that match. Srilanka lost but it was a good chase by them considering the target was 400+. I donot think Srilanka did not try chasing 370+ target yesterday. They did but couldn't because of the good bowling attack.

In today match Sri Lanka was surely out of the game in early part of the game while India give them mighty target of 374 which was surely too good for them even they have few good hitters but today in early overs Mohammad Siraj give them shocks and after these remaining batting line up completely fail to have any good fight for the target even Shanaka who completed his century was playing halfhearted because he was also understanding they can't win this match from here with few chances left and no proper batsman available for having good backup but still reaching above 300+ was good effort from their batting line up.

Indian bowlers were at the top from the start as they have good target to defend but now Chahal is going out of the form for long time which is surely needed a good chance for the youngster, hopefully selectors will think about this in next matches.

India makes a good start for this ODI series. Virat Kohli once again showed his brilliance with the bat with a strike rate of over 139 with 113 runs in just 87 balls. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill's superb opening partnership in India further accelerated the win. And India's run rate accuracy today was amazing to watch as it almost went over 7 in parallel.
On the others hand from Sri Lanka it was under 5 before 20 overs except the  first 3/4 over. But from Sri Lankan side also I think Dashun Sanaka and Pathum nissanka played great but they could not win due to lack of full team work. If India can maintain their position I think Sri Lanka will be white washed in this odi series .

Virat Kohli's return to runs after much criticism has become an important hotline in Indian cricket.  In today's match, Virat Kohli not only scored runs but scored an important century.  Along with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, who was sidelined for a few matches due to injury, is also back in the running.  Today's India is facing a mountain target of even runs in front of Sri Lanka which is quite impossible for Sri Lanka to complete the target and win.  Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have lost three wickets for 63 runs after 15 overs.
Virat kohli has given answers to all those who said he's not in form , a spectacular century and excellent batting by Rohit Sharma.  They proved that they are experienced players and that comes with age and time , now sirlanka is failing bad to score runs and build a partnership  they have already lost 3 wickets.
Surely now after having offload from the t20 format his performance is improved and fans are also happy today he completes his century which is good sign for the Indian team and selectors which have good faith in this legendary player hopefully now he will perform good against Australia in test series as well which is also much needed because he is surely key batsman for the Indian team against mighty Australia which is coming here after beating few good teams back at home and their recent Asian tours are also good like they beat Pakistan in Pakistan and then play draw against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka which give them good experience for playing into these conditions which are never been ideal for them in the past.

Yes the pitch is batting friendly and I think both teams Batmens were tooks that benefits. Both teams played good in the side of batting but I didn't saw any big partnership from the  top ordered batmens from Sri Lanka and I also think that they can't maintain properly the run rate from the beginning and that's why at the end of moment the require run rate got higher and they can't touch that .
But Dasun Shanaka  and Pathum Nissanka performance should also commendable. But they can't make team work properly in Batting lineup . But this performance give signals that the upcoming match maybe unpredictable.
