Bhumrah is facing tough competition but he is still irreplaceable. He will eventually be part of the playing 11 after he has fully recovered from his back injury. It is just the stiffness of the back that he complained about and the team management did not wanted to take any risk therefore he has been dropped. I am pretty sure he would be ready before the IPL and the he would be playing in the upcoming world cup.
No one in the Indian team is irreplaceable. There is a lot of depth in the player pool and non-performing players should be kicked out without much delay. And in case of Bumrah, when he got his injury he was not in top form. His T20 bowling average was 31.50 for the year of 2022, although he performed better in test and ODI format. Hopefully he will undertake steps to reduce the workload. The most suitable format for him would be test, but nowadays no one prefers this format since money is not there. And I am afraid that the IPL 2023 will just exacerbate his injury troubles.
There's a lot of logic to that since money talks. Having aged and been injured, he now has to make a decision. So, Mumbai Indians will surely have him back in shape before the IPL begins, and he will also play all the games in the IPL. The cycle will continue after the IPL season ends when he will put his name down again in the injury list. Keeping him away from the IPL is the best way to preserve his quality.
