Also buying some PXC on Cryptsy would get the miners back soon Smiley
You need to buy just a few K to pump up the price Smiley

It would "fix" the slow blockrate for a while, until the devs implement the new diff change algo.

I'm currently planning on buying PXC worth 25 BTC anyway Smiley

At this point I don't think a hard fork to change to difficulty adaptation would damage the coin reputation. It may rather damage it if *not* forking.
Forking now means active dev. carring for their coin. The client is not widespread yet, and by posting here they can be sure to easily rech almost all the people using it.

With the numerous alt-coins and quite a lot of MH/s jumping from chain to chain depending on coinchoose or similar, not forking would also mean to have the same problem the next time the price goes up.

You do have a point. I'm not strongly against it, I just think it isn't really necessary because the coin will take off anyway without the need for revising the original design. Once it has gained a large following huge price jumps are less likely, just like with LTC. On the other hand, as you say, an adaptation clearly wouldn't technically harm the coin and might actually enforce trust in developer commitment. Though I'm not sure whether this is necessary either as the devs are evidently doing a great job.

Ok, your obviously better at math then I am. How much would the price of PXC have to rise to go to the top of the profitabilty chart again ?

My estimate would be above .0002 again. Right ?

If you look at the estimated coin reward on http://www.coinwarz.com/ you find that the reward ratio PXC/LTC is approximately 61.45, that is you get 61.45 PXC for the same hashrate investment that would yield 1 LTC. On the other hand the fiat reward ratio based on the current exchange prices is approximately $2.48/$0.96 = 2.58 because 1 LTC is currently worth $2.48 while 61.45 PXC are worth $0.96. So the price per PXC (currently 0.00015 BTC on Cryptsy) would have to be multiplied by this value 2.58 to achieve equilibrium with LTC: 0.00015 BTC * 2.58 = 0.000387 BTC or $0.04.

I agree.

PhenixCoin is not just about PhenixCoin, "another Litecoin clone", It's all about the applications available / coming up soon and the great devs and their support.
Never seen this professionalism before on an altcoin. The way they respond to questions, criticism, problems, etc is great!

That's what makes the coin, gives it value.

I put my money where my mouth is: I invest in this coin by buying and mining. Difficulty is 10... LTC difficulty is 600 and it's still mined... We may never see it this low again when value picks up...

So man the miners and start mining (if you're not) Smiley

Don't ask what your coin can do for you, ask what you can do for your coin!  Cool

Just to give an estimate on how long it will take until the next difficulty change:

It takes approximately difficulty * 2^32 hashes to solve a block on average.

So at the current difficulty of 10.3909 and current average hashrate of approximately 35 MH/s it takes (10.3909 * 2^32 H) / (35 MH/s) = 1275.1 seconds - or 21 minutes and 15 seconds - to solve a block.

That's approximately 35 days for 2400 blocks, that is until the next difficulty change.

I don't think a hardfork would already be the appropriate response as it somewhat dilutes trust into the coin that has no fundamental problems at all with the actual infrastructure and service offerings in store. I think we we should just mine through it and hope for new developer announcements soon which would in turn cause immediate price gains on the exchanges so hashrate will come back automatically.

I`m pull in another 1200 Khash to mine PXC. It will be great to rise a little bit more the hash power, and step forward to retarget. We need more miners now.
